578: Don't Lose Momentum in Your Business
I recently had several one-on-one calls with clients, where we discussed how critical it is to create and maintain momentum in their business. The last thing you want is to be in a vulnerable place in your business, where you lose a big client, or have several clients not renew at once, or have several proposals get declined, and have no one else in your pipeline.  I recently recorded a live training into our $ix Figures Lab group coaching program, where I share the ways I observe business owners losing momentum, and several ways to gain momentum. I decided this is something I wanted to share with all of you that are listening and who are a part of our BizChix community.    💰 Join the waitlist for $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/578.

If you struggle with finding clients, getting referrals, and communicating the value of your services, you most likely need help with your positioning.  That’s what $ix Figures Lab member Jennifer Edwards needed help with, too.  I first connected with Jennifer on LinkedIn, when she reached out to let me know she was considering joining $ix Figures Lab. And I gave her coaching right there in the DMs that she now says changed the trajectory of her business.   Jennifer is now positioned as a Fractional Chief Financial Officer, who guides service-based business owners through the maze of their finances, so they can make sound decisions based on facts and figures. And we are meeting 1:1 soon to discuss the next step to niching further by industry. I think you will enjoy hearing how changing her title completely transformed Jennifer’s business, how she niched down to become instantly referable, and the power of leveraging strategic referral partners.      💰 Join the waitlist for $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/577.

576: Adulting in Business
Adulting is hard.  Turns out this is more than just a funny meme. Adulting really is hard.  And many business owners have been expressing the same sentiment.  Being a CEO is hard.  It makes sense, because as the CEO, the buck stops with you.  There’s no one higher up the chain to absorb the impact of a rough patch in your business. There’s no one who can make business decisions for you.  On today’s episode $ix Figures Lab Coach Elizabeth Cook and I will talk about the very real pressures of being a business owner. You’ll learn how your struggles in business mirror your struggles in your personal life, the two areas that drain your emotional and mental resources the most, and why you need a safe space to discuss your business challenges.   💰 Join the waitlist for $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/576.

572: The Passive Income Fallacy
What do you think of when you hear the term passive income? The idea is incredibly appealing, and the marketing messages used to sell it are extremely persuasive.  Imagine a steady stream of income filling your bank account on autopilot, while you relax on a tropical beach or sleep in your own bed. That’s every business owner's dream, right? On today’s episode $ix Figures Lab Coach Elizabeth Cook and I will talk about the Passive Income Fallacy.  We cover why so many business owners waste their precious time and energy in pursuit of an illusion, the truth about what’s involved in running a successful online course or membership business, and the business model I recommend instead for marketers, consultants and financial professionals.   💰 Join the waitlist for $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/572.

571: Is Your Market Saturated?
Have you noticed a lot more competition for your ideal clients? If you think your market is saturated, you may be right.  Over the past decade, I have noticed several entrepreneurial fields becoming crowded. Areas like marketing, consulting, and business and life coaching have grown exponentially — especially since 2020 and the Great Resignation. There are a few reasons for this growth, and on today’s episode $ix Figures Lab Coach Elizabeth Cook and I will talk about why certain fields have become saturated and how to ensure you stand out in a crowd.   Keep listening to learn the number one mistake service-based business owners make that practically guarantees they will be invisible to their ideal clients, why the way I describe my business has evolved over the years, and how to use the Blue Ocean Strategy to laser in on your niche and specialty.    💰 Join the waitlist for $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/571.

570: Do You Have a Marketing Problem?
Do you think you have a marketing problem? Before new clients join us in our group coaching program $ix Figures Lab, we ask them to evaluate and analyze their business across essential areas such as strategy, operations, team, and sub-areas like marketing. This gives us insight into what they believe the problem is and allows us to dig deeper to discover underlying issues.  The most common area new clients rank in as needing urgent help is their marketing. They report they aren’t doing enough marketing. They don't have a real plan. Or their current marketing plan isn’t working.  But, nine times out of ten, they don’t have a marketing problem.  In today’s episode, Elizabeth Cook, who is a coach in $ix Figures Lab, and I will talk about why marketing may not be the issue and what the real problem likely is.  You’ll learn why a marketing problem is a sign you want more control and stability in your business, the reason Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals don’t need an all-out marketing blitz, and what to do instead of wishing for a magic formula.    💰 Join the waitlist for $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/570.

569: Does Your Ideal Client Care?
What I have learned over the last decade working individually with over 1,000 women entrepreneurs, is that we all have blind spots when it comes to our businesses and we are each focusing on things that may not be moving our business forward even though it may feel like we are keeping very, very busy. My guess is that you are doing things to attempt to attract your ideal clients that they do not care about, notice or even participate in. So effectively, you're wasting your time.  One of the challenges here for all of us is that often the loudest marketers, the most flashy, the ones with the best ads, they seem that they have it all together. And they're telling us that we need to do these things and they have really big budgets behind their messaging. They do that without regard to the business model you are building. My goal is to help you maximize the time you spend bringing clients into your business. In January, I created a live video for my clients in $ix Figures Lab that I want to share with you today. Afterwards, I'll circle back and give you some things you can think about as you decide what activities to keep, adjust or delete and what opportunities to say a hard yes to or a hard no.   💰 Join the waitlist for $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/569. 567: A Lean Dream Team
You don’t need a massive team to have a highly profitable business as a marketer, consultant or financial professional. But you do need a high performing team. What would it be like if you could give every member of your current or future team a five star rating? Can you imagine how your entire business and life would change if you had that kind of support? Your team includes anyone you pay to support you — either in your business, or in your personal life.  Many of the women we work with in our group coaching program Six Figures Lab, have reached a tipping point in their service-based business, and they are ready to bring in more support in business, at home, or both.  But they often get hung up on the idea that their team has to be massive or full-time. It doesn’t. Elizabeth Cook, who coaches with me in Six Figures Lab, joins me to discuss building your lean dream team. You will learn how to rate your team members using one to five stars, why your goal should be five star support all around, and what to do about team members who are not performing at a five star level.     💰 Apply now to join $ix Figures Lab enrolling to start March 22 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/567. 566: Working as a Fractional Role (CFO, CMO, COO)
Have you considered working in a fractional role with your clients?  The most common fractional roles include fractional chief financial officer, chief marketing officer, chief operations officer and chief people officer.  Some of our clients come to us already offering fractional packages. Or we help them pivot into a fractional role after joining $ix Figures Lab because it elevates their position in the marketplace and reflects the value they are creating for their clients already. In this episode, Elizabeth Cook, a coach in Six Figures Lab, and I will talk about working in a fractional role, and I’ll share why I hired a CMO this year. You will learn why your clients might consider hiring you in a fractional role — instead of hiring a full-time employee, what a fractional role might look like, and how to start re-positioning yourself to sell fractional services.     💰 Apply now to join $ix Figures Lab enrolling to start March 22 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/566. Subscribe to our sister podcast, Stacking Your Team, on your podcast app or at BizChix.com/category/team.

565: Should You Offer Discounts?
Does it ever make sense to offer a discount on your services? My stance on discounts is a solid no. But it’s not quite that simple.  If you’re anything like some of our clients, you may get creative when it comes to discounting your services by trying to find an exception to the no discounts rule.  What about you? Are you coming up with creative ways to offer a discount without calling it a discount?  If so, stop right there and listen to today’s episode. Elizabeth Cook, who is a coach in Six Figures Lab, and I will talk about why you should never offer discounts, even to your long-term clients.  And you will learn why you don’t have to offer discounts to get clients, how to respond if a client asks for a discount, and how to navigate a subcontracting arrangement that might involve lowering your rates.       💰 Apply now to join $ix Figures Lab enrolling to start March 22 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/565. Subscribe to our sister podcast, Stacking Your Team, on your podcast app or at BizChix.com/category/team.

564: Where Are You Hiding?
Where are you hiding in your business? Now, you might think I’m only talking about hiding from visibility opportunities, but hiding is about more than visibility.  And you might think we’re going to discuss procrastination because so many business owners use it to avoid making difficult decisions or taking action.  Hiding in your business goes a layer deeper, and it may be harder to recognize because it appears to be productive. In today’s episode, Elizabeth Cook, who is a coach in our $ix Figures Lab group coaching program, and I will talk about what it means to hide in your business and what it’s costing you. You will learn about the top three hiding mechanisms entrepreneurs use to avoid making changes in their business, including hiding behind your content, your network, and your client work.   💰 Apply now to join $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/564. Subscribe to our sister podcast, Stacking Your Team, on your podcast app or at BizChix.com/category/team.

562: Boundaries in Business Series: Communication
How many of your clients have your personal cell phone number?  If this method of communication works for you, that’s fine. However, it quickly becomes a problem if your client has an all-access pass to your time, and you feel like you can’t say no, especially to those quick texts after hours and on weekends. Maybe this communication style worked when you started your business and had only a few clients. Now, it has become overwhelming and intrusive as more and more clients have access to you.   It will come as no surprise that this is a boundary issue.  In today’s episode, Elizabeth Cook, who coaches with me in our $ix Figures Lab Group Coaching Program, joins me to discuss how to set communication boundaries to protect your time, your team, and your business.   💰 Apply now to join $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the private podcast series 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/562. Subscribe to our sister podcast, Stacking Your Team, on your podcast app or at BizChix.com/category/team.
