Top Tips For Finding The Perfect Wedding Photographer
EPISODE #17: HOW TO FIND THE PERFECT PHOTOGRAPHER FOR YOUR WEDDING Of all the elements you have to plan for your special day, finding the perfect wedding photographer is one of the most important. Once the party is over and the dress has been put away, it’s going to be your wedding photos that are the most enduring memory for years to come…so you want to get it right! But with so many photographers out there, how do you find the one that is just right for you. In this episode I’ll give you some of my top tips for finding the perfect wedding photographer for you, which all begins with knowing what style of photography you want and your budget. Ideally you want someone with a great reputation and reviews to validate it, as well as a personality that you “click” with and can work with collaboratively. There are so many sources for finding wedding photographers out there, from wedding resource websites like Wedding Wire and the Knot to Instagram pages and bridal shows. You might have friends and family that recently got married and whose photos you loved or your wedding venue might refer a wedding photographer that they personally vouch for and has experience working with their team. It all comes down to research and recommendations to find a wedding photographer that is going to capture your special day just the way you want. Bringing Your Wedding Vision To Life With B-Spoke Events
EPISODE #16: ENSURE YOUR WEDDING VISION COMES TO LIFE WITH B-SPOKE EVENTS Last month I had the pleasure of working with wedding coordinator Bonney Briney of B-Spoke Events and was blown away by her professionalism and attention to detail. She really went above and beyond to make my job as easy as possible, while ensuring that the entire day ran smoothly and on time. From being on hand with family formal lists to making sure my team got adequate time to eat and that hair and makeup was finished on time, she was proactive at every step of the way. So I wanted to pick her brains about how she brings to life the wedding vision of her couples in such a stress-free manner. In this episode we chat about how Bonnie got started in wedding planning after years of working in the corporate world. She was first inspired by a few friends who asked her to plan their weddings, then decided to take the plunge with a more creative career when she launched B-Spoke Events in 2013. Bonnie will share some of her tips on achieving your wedding day vision by having a clear mental picture of how you want it to play out, rather than getting bogged down in the details. We’ll chat about why investing in a wedding planner can help save you time, money and stress and some of her strategies for helping execute a couple’s dream wedding day. Bonnie also touches on some of her top tips for other wedding vendors if they want to be recommended and have their name on preferred wedding vendor lists. Questions To Ask Before Hiring A Wedding Photographer - Part 2
EPISODE #15: WHAT TO ASK A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER BEFORE HIRING ONE PART 2 In the second episode of this two-part series about what to ask before selecting a wedding photographer, we’ll chat about some of the questions you might have regarding the wedding day itself. First and foremost, you should check in with the wedding photographer about what their approach and vision is for photographing your wedding and whether they’re going to be proactive when it comes to capturing the moments or more of a “fly on the wall”. What can you expect when it comes to family formals and bridal party portraits, and what’s their take on the “first look”? You should also ask about what they will do if you start to fall behind schedule and how they perform under stress. It’s also really important that you are on the same page about what will happen after the wedding in terms of seeing your photos. When can you expect to receive the images and through what medium? And what are you legally allowed to do with them? This is also a good time to ask about the process of having an album created and whether or not this is included in your package. Before you meet (or speak over the phone) with a wedding photographer whose work you like, jot down a few questions that you’d like to ask so you’re prepared when the time comes. Most wedding photographers understand the investment you’re making in them and will be more than happy to answer your questions. But if they’re not, then consider looking elsewhere. Questions To Ask Before Selecting A Wedding Photographer - Part 1
EPISODE #14: WHAT TO ASK A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER BEFORE HIRING ONE PART 1 Selecting a wedding photographer to capture your special day is a big decision and once you sign that contract, there’s no going back. So it’s important that you find out as much as you can about what to expect BEFORE you commit to hiring one. In this episode of a two-part series, we’ll be chatting about some of the fundamental questions you should be asking to determine if a photographer is right for you. When the time comes to sit down or chat over the phone with a photographer you like, don’t be shy to ask them how many years of experience they have and if wedding photography is their main profession. Perhaps ask if they have photographed at your wedding venue before and if you’re having a second shooter, then find out who they are and what their experience level is. You might also want to ask some specific questions about your style or wedding theme. Perhaps you’re having a cultural celebration and want a photographer who understands the rituals that will be taking place. Or maybe you’ll be getting married in a church that requires particular sensitivities. Hiring a wedding photographer is a big investment, not only in terms of money but whether the images you come away with are going to meet your expectations. So take the time to nut out who is right for you and who might not be on the same wave length. Ten Things To Tell Your Wedding Photographer To Ensure Gorgeous Images And A Dream Wedding Day
EPISODE #10: 10 THINGS TO TELL YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER BEFORE THE BIG DAY After a short hiatus, Aevitas Weddings’ podcast series is back with another episode designed to help brides and grooms plan their dream wedding day. This week we’re going to be chatting about ten things to tell your wedding photographer in the lead up to your special day, enabling them to capture the most gorgeous photographs possible and ensuring everything runs smoothly. We’ll talk about communicating your preferred photographic style with them and explaining specific shots that have inspired you from other weddings, as well as any special events or cultural rituals you are hoping to incorporate into the day. It’s also important to share with them the names and contacts of the other wedding vendors they’ll be working alongside so they can coordinate in advance, together with any awkward family relationships they should be aware of when capturing family formals. While most of these things to tell your wedding photographer are for your benefit, it’s also a nice idea to let them know why you selected them over others. This gives them a better idea of what they are doing right and will ensure they maintain the preferred style and quality you love on your special day.
