This week we have a very special episode. As you all know, Daisy was part of the iconic club, The Lusty Lady. They were pioneers in striking and winning rights for themselves. Now a newer generation has learned from what the LL dancers accomplished and they've won this first and very important step in workers rights for strippers!

Logn and Mia from the Red Umbrella Iceland, sat down with AMD and spilled all the beans.  What's going on in Iceland?  You're about to find out.  The landscape is unique but similar to so much of what we deal with here in the states.  In a country that has a population of roughly 360,000, it's a lot harder to hide your work, making it very difficult to be a SW and aa SW activist.  However, Logn and Mia are enthusiastic and super positive and believe that change is on the horizon.

Today Daisy is joined by Stella, one of the performers from Daisy Ducati Presents: Dangerous. Dangerous is a fetish burlesque show happening now in Vegas. Stella refers to themself as "alternative" and seems to be very at home in the kink performance world. The two share some real talk about the toxic behavior they see in the clubs and how sticking together is better for us all.

For some of us, leaving stripping is a career change, for others who have been stripping as a career for many years, it feels like retiring and saying goodbye to an old friend.  Sinclair and Lisa came to AMD wanting to talk about retirement as strippers. The idea of doing this panel was born. The first of its kind, we had participating community members who shared with us, to add as many perspectives as possible on this very real and not often talked about topic.  We shared our stories, our perspectives. We learned from each other and empathized with each other in the ways that only SW to SW can do.  Please let us know how you felt about this episode after listening.  This conversation is for all of us.

Jeanelle is a reproductive activist, birth worker, sex-work-adjacent, and host of the Dancing Doula Podcast. She's this week's guest for a couple reasons. Obviously she is lending her expertise to weigh in on the recent Roe v. Wade decision. What you may not know is that Onyx recently experienced a pregnancy and miscarriage and Jeanelle is someone who has helped Onyx get through that. This episode is emotional and powerful and truly educational.

Molly was a stripper who was not only battling her own whorephobia but up against a crew of fellow strippers who were trying to take her down for her choices with her body.  Internalized whorephobia affects us all to varying degrees, and for Molly, it was pivotal when she started to confront it.  Now Molly is an escort, doing what she chooses and finding ways to dismantle whorephobia, one small conversation at a time.

They also talk about how privileged people benefit during their introduction and exit from the sex work industry.  Kelly's journey of acknowledging her privilege as a white woman is a fine example to other white women.  And she intends on using her privilege in her music career to continue to raise awareness for marginalized folx.

AM and colleague podcaster, Leilah, from A Strippers Guide, joined forces to make this topical episode.  They talk about how female patrons behave in the clubs and ways they navigate towards or around them.  There is also conversation about their own past whorephobia and the whorephobia and whore-archy that exist in clubs still to this day.  After 28 years of stripping between the two of them, the experiences and stories are a-plenty.

In today's episode, our host, Daisy Ducati sits down with Reagan, one of the dancers involved in organizing the strike at Star Garden in North Hollywood, CA. Reagan tells us all about the serious security issues and disputes with management that caused the dancers to walk out and strike. We'll hear about the similarities between the current strike and the historic action at San Francisco's Lusty Lady which ultimately led to the dancers unionizing and buying the club to form a co-op.
