The Toronto Raptors’ official playoff berth and how their defensive versatility led to success this season. Touched on the Chicago Action that they run along with the defensive roaming ability of Barnes playing at the 4 and the success that Head Coach Nick Nurse has seen in playing his starters 35+ minutes per game this year (15:31-22:00). Giannis makes a late MVP push with statement wins against the Sixers and Nets. Brook Lopez returns from injury and allows Giannis to be his best self on offense and defense (22:01-29:38). The New York vaccine mandate is lifted and Kyrie Irving wins. With Irving back, full time the top of the Eastern Conference begins to jockey position to get out of the 2 seed to not have to play Brooklyn in the first round (57:47-1:02:08).

March 2, 2021. Jack recaps all the big news of the past couple weeks covering the NBA trade deadline. The mega James Harden to Philadelphia for Ben Simmons to Brooklyn blockbuster finally goes down after almost over a year of rumors and speculations (0:50-16:32). Who won the trade? How do Simmons and [Seth] Curry fit into Brooklyn’s system? How can Harden adapt to play with this other worldly Joel Embiid that we’ve witnessed this season? (16:33-24:55). Recap of the confusing Washington-Dallas trades including Bertans and Dinwiddie for Porzingis (24:56-31:36). Talk the Caris Levert acquisition for Cleveland (31:38-34:04). Derrick White trade, Robert Williams jump, and Boston’s #1 defense since January 1st (34:05-38:20). Briefly covered the weird Indiana-Sacremento trade involving Haliburton and Hield for Sabonis leaving both teams with more questions and problems than solutions or answers (38:21-43:31). CJ McCollum is traded to the Pelicans and more and more signs every day point to Zion wanting out of New Orleans (43:31-48:33). Lebron dominates the media headlines at ASW, praising Sam Presti and Koby Altman, leaving the door open on his return to Cleveland, andannounces that his last year will be spent playing with his son, Bronny, and will play wherever he ends up being drafted (48:34-52:21).

November 16, 2021 Jack dives into the Baxter Holmes ESPN story on long tenured Phoenix Suns owner, Robert Sarver. He dives into many of the alleged accounts of racism, sexism, misogyny that Holmes recorded in his interviews with 70 plus members and staff within the Suns organization (0:45-14:15). After that, he discusses the Bulls dominance including DeRozan’s improvement along with his isolation efficiency and scoring prowess, Lavine’s leap, and a willingness to buy into roles to win (14:15-24:34). Marcus Smart’s comments on Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum’s in game decisions and subsequently follows with a conversation about the abilities of the role players on the Celtics and Ime Udoka’s questionable rotation and schemes (24:34-34:08). After that he gets into Rich Paul’s most recent statement on Simmons’ mental health and how the officiating of the game this season has made the viewing product far more enjoyable (34:08-42:11). Finally, college basketball has finally begun and the 2022 draft class is stacked from the likes of Paolo Banchero to Chet Holmgren (42:11-46:22).

Move into talking about the championship caliber teams like the Suns, Lakers and Jazz (4:40-15:54). The teams just out of the play-in fray like the Nuggets and Warriors (15:54-24:08). Teams that are just a hair below are made up of the Blazers, Mavericks, and Grizzlies (24:08-34:13). The teams that just made the cut to be in the play in are made up of the Clippers and Kings (34:13-41:30). The final grouping is made up of the “tankathon” teams, which are the Pelicans, Spurs, Timberwolves, Thunder and Rockets (41:30-56:51).

October 11, 2021. In this first episode of the Elon NBA Show, Jack Prahinski (’25) breaks down all the Eastern Conference teams from the heavy title favorites such as the Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks to even the likes of teams more focused on rebuilding like the Orlando Magic or the Detroit Pistons along with many others. Using 5 tiers I evaluate where the 15 teams stand in relativity to each-other, how each offseason played out, and prevalent story lines that have continued since the offseason began such as the Ben Simmons hold out saga, Kyrie Irving anti-vaccine sentiments, Giannis’ leap, Durant’s dominance, and much more. The legit contenders in Milwaukee and Brooklyn (0:55-14:34). The teams that have a chance at homecourt advantage and will be above the play in fray such as Boston, Atlanta, and Miami (14:34-25:58). The teams that are just above or in the play in fray consist of Philadelphia, New York, and Charlotte (25:59-37:56). Play-in or bust teams that may be blowing it up this off season if they can’t make it to the playoffs or flame out early is made up of Washington and Chicago (37:57-46:20). The last tier is made up of teams that will either unintentionally or will intentionally be tanking which consists of Indiana, Toronto, Detroit, Cleveland and Orlando (46:20-1:07:30).

Keith Montena and Ashley Tatum dive into Trouble by Natalia Kills, an underrated pop album conquering the singer's personal life surrounding her family life and turbulent teenage years. Released in 2013, the album is Kills' second effort after her debut project featuring support from will.i.am and Akon, and acted as a big leap for her artistically.
