Pep talk needed
I’ve been having horrendous problems with my computer. I finally gave up trying to fix it myself and boxed it up and fed-exed it to a technically savvy friend and it turns out that my disc was too full. He set it up to store everything in the cloud instead of on my hard drive and that problem was fixed. Another problem with it was my Apple ID. I had forgotten it, but had it written it down in my notebook of passwords which unfortunately is in storage somewhere among the hundred or so other boxes I have stored there. To complicate matters the address stored in my phone had the wrong Apple ID stored in it. Somehow my buddy got all that straightened out on my laptop by changing the password and Apple ID and it was declared fixed . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/pep-talk-needed/

Tragedy of mammoth proportion
I have prayed for the families but cannot adequately embrace their grief and pain of losing their innocent child and loved ones. I have asked my God not to allow me to outlive any of my sons. The pain would be near unbearable . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/tragedy-of-mammoth-proportion/

Choices – I wish I didn’t have them
My computer is toast and I’ve had a heck of a time coping with just a cell phone. Someone has said that technology is great, provided you can get it to work. The unsaid part is that when it doesn’t work it can be an aggravating nightmare. I’m sending it next day air to a friend to see of he can get it to work and if he cannot I suppose I’ll buy another and start over . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/choices-i-wish-i-didnt-have-them/

You will want to stay tuned
I was watching a fishing show on television the other night. I was amazed at the number of commercials and the clever way they try to retain viewers interest. Before each commercial they load up on telling all of the interesting segments that will soon be aired. I try to use this same strategy in the books I write. I try to end each chapter with something that makes the reader turn the page to find out what happened next . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/you-will-want-to-stay-tuned-2/

A great day to be alive
I love to go to rodeos and one of the best in the world is the Calgary Stampede in Calgary Alberta. The last time I attended there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and it was bluebird blue. It was a beautiful, cool, and crisp day without a sign of our hot Floridian humidity. My wife and I had great fun as we watched, barrel racing, bare back bronco riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, and finally bull riding . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/a-great-day-to-be-alive-2/

We need God in good times too
My brother became close to the Lord a couple of years before his death. He was one of those people who had sunk to the very bottom of the barrel of life and with nowhere to turn for help, and out of sheer desperation and agony turned to the Lord . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/we-need-god-in-good-times-too-2/

Can you disappoint God?
There was a beautiful sunrise this morning. The water in the harbor was like a mirror without so much as a ripple. The reflection of the gorgeous sunrise with its beautiful orange and red hues covering the sky and the water made them look identical . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/can-you-disappoint-god/

Advice
As a student of the Bible for over forty some odd years, I believe we are living in the last days. I won’t go into my interpretation of the Scriptures as to why I make that statement as it would take too long, but rest assured I believe the Lord could come at any time . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/advice/

A murderer
I was saddened to see that a young white supremist man murdered 10 people and wounded another 3 at a grocery store in Buffalo NY the other day. He is the product of well-educated parents, both engineers with above average incomes. They have no idea why their son did what he did or from where his racism evolved. They say race was never discussed in their household and that they were unaware of their son’s extremist views . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/a-murderer/

Unshaken
Today I should be in Costa Rica. I moved the possessions I am keeping out of my home in the Florida Keys and was supposed to close last Friday and be on a plane the next day. After I had moved out all my possessions and put them in storage the buyer backed out at the last possible moment. So, I spent the weekend moving back in and trying to get the house presentable to market again. My wife and I are nearing exhaustion . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/unshaken/

The warrior
The other day I wrote about wanting to be with God now and not in the distant future but hoping He will delay the rapture and/or my demise until I can lead some of my non-believer friends and family to fully commit and surrender their lives to Jesus . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/the-warrior/

Last Call
I am stunned at the prices for gas, groceries, vehicles, my latest tax bill, etc. I can afford it, but I cannot help but feel sad for those families that cannot. It has become an agonizing decision for many people in our country to either buy groceries or buy fuel for their vehicle so they can get to work . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/last-call/

Nuclear War and Dock Permits
I was really stressed out yesterday. I’ve sold my house, my property at Honey Lake, and my Yellowfin boat and need to get them all closed by the end of the month. As with most closings involving a great deal of money, there comes a great deal of problems with it. One of the biggest problems is that we have booked our flights to Costa Rica and rented a house with a non-refundable deposit, and I cannot get any legal documents notarized there except at the United States embassy. Meaning I must get everything accomplished prior to leaving or lose thousands of dollars . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/nuclear-war-and-dock-permits/

Growing old gracefully
I think his description should stir the soul of readers of all ages. I know that it touched me in a special way. Sometimes we get down and out and perhaps feel that the world and everyone in it would be better off without us. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our life experiences can produce fruit and God can be glorified. I suggest reading his letter again. I’ve read it several times in the past few days. Then put it to use and talk to someone about Jesus today . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/growing-old-gracefully/

Satan’s sheep, bahhhh bahhhh . . .
We are sickened by reading in the Bible and history books of children being sacrificed to Moloch and Baal. Many nations have worshipped false Gods and idols and it seems children were an easy target for their deprivation. Decapitated remains of children from the Mayan and Aztec eras are still being found in their vine-covered temples. Though these numbered in the thousands consider the United States and its destruction of sixty-two million babies that have been killed by abortions in this country . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/satans-sheep-bahhhh-bahhhh/

Double Overtime
I had a friend come over yesterday to say his goodbyes before we depart the keys. He will soon be 51 and was lamenting the fact that he had moved into the fourth quarter of his life. My wife quipped if you are in the fourth quarter at 51, where does that put us at our age? Overtime? . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/double-overtime/

I am
I’ve given my testimony from Anchorage AK to Key West FL and hundreds if not thousands of points in-between. I have spoken in prisons including death row, rehab clinics, homeless shelters, and numerous churches, spiritual retreats, fundraisers, and even some government functions . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/i-am/

Wife is not a bad term
So yesterday I got several marital tips. Most readers seemed to sympathize with my wife after yesterday’s post and felt I treated her shabbily and suggested I should apologize for my boorish behavior . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/wife-is-not-a-bad-term/

Mean son of a gun
I had a great dream last night about a tremendously talented guy who could really play the guitar. He was giving me lessons and I was greatly improving within minutes of meeting him. I asked him where he lived and he told me, and something went off in my head that I know this guy. I asked him his name and it just confirmed that I knew him. I asked him what he did for a living as this would be the final confirmation that he was indeed the person that I had in mind . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/05/mean-son-of-a-gun-2/

Rolling Stone leaves no stone unturned
So today I’m returning home to pack up the few things we intend to keep and get ready to move. We are (hopefully) closing on our home on May 16, so time is a wasting. After that, we are planning to head back to Costa Rica to try and find a good place to reside . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2022/04/rolling-stone-leaves-no-stone-unturned/
