Humility Week 2 01/10/21   Text: 1 Corinthians 1:18-2:5  It is humbling to recognize our new life in Christ came about only because of God and not because of anything we did.

When God Doesn’t week- 4 Rejoice, Strength, Overcomers Text: Habakkuk 3:16–19 Topic(s): Rejoice, Strength, Overcomers  Even among suffering and loss, Habakkuk has learned that he can trust God, and with that trust comes great joy—not in circumstances but in God himself. Application Point: As followers of Jesus, we can express authentic worship of God in seasons of darkness, pain, and difficulties by rejoicing, prayer, and thanksgiving.

When God Doesn’t Week 3 Topic: Waiting, Trust, Faith Text: Habakkuk 2:2–20 Big Idea of the Message: God is always at work, and while his work might seem slow to us, God will, in his own time and own ways, fulfill his Word. Application Point: As we wait on God to faithfully fulfill his Word, we must put our trust and confidence in the Lord and not rely on our own understanding.    

When God Doesn’t – week 2 Topic: Disappointment with God, Surrender, Expectations Text: Habakkuk 1:5–2:1 Habakkuk is disappointed that God does not seem to be answering his prayers; but God’s response indicates that, unbeknownst to the prophet, he has already begun answering them, though not according to Habakkuk’s expectations.   Application :We must let go of our expectations of how God should work in this world or how he should answer our prayers.  

Week 1 Text: Habakkuk 1:1–4 Topic(s): Complaint, Silence, God’s Care for Us Big Idea of the Message: Habakkuk pours out his heart in a complaint to God, questioning him as why he appears to be silent and uncaring toward the situation. Application: When we face dark, painful, and hard times, we can out pour our hearts and unedited emotions to God.   

Heroes and Saviors Week 4 Topic: Jesus When temptation comes learn to follow Jesus example. Text: Matthew 4:1-11  

Heroes and Saviors Week 3 Topic: Elijah, Giving Up The great prophet Elijah wanted to end his life when times got tough. Though sometimes we are tempted to give up in the face of difficult circumstances, God has not left us alone. Text: I Kings 19:1-18

Heroes' and Saviors David, Pride Text: 2 Samuel 11-12 Topic: David, Pride  Despite being a godly man chosen by God to be king, David’s pride and selfishness led him to fall into temptation. Even the strongest Christians need to guard themselves from slipping up; we are not invincible.

Provision through Testing Genesis 22-14 Abraham's test that God ask Him in giving of sacrificially His Son shows Abraham's faith and obedience as well as God's provision for a replacement sacrifice.
