Virgil, Freehill, and Segura read excerpts from their chapters in the book, The Chronicles of Women in White Coats.  Dr. Bande Virgil is an author with publications and interviews on several well known websites including The Bump, Romper, and KevinMD. She recently was published as a co-author in “The Chronicles of Women in White Coats”. She also writes regularly on her own blog ‘The Mommy Doc’ where she shares the journey of motherhood and gives practical advice on children’s  health and parenting. Dr. Angela Freehill (or Mrs. Brown at the grade school) is a woman of many hats. She is an orthopedic surgeon, a wife, a mother to three beautiful girls, a wine and cheese connoisseur, a co-author of “The Chronicles of Women in White Coats”, and a breast cancer survivor. She is passionate about writing and watching movies on the couch with a giant bucket of popcorn. She loves to travel and try new places and new foods. Kendra Segura, MD, MPH, FACOG, is an obstetrician-gynecologist who is known as Dr. Kendra: Your Ob/Gyn Next Door®. She currently works at Kaiser Permanente in southern California. Dr. Dalian Caraballo is a board-certified family physician based in Miami, FL, at Your Family MD.  She was born and raised in Puerto Rico.  After residency, Dr. Caraballo worked in the field of urgent care and occupational medicine before moving to Florida. She served as the Immigration Custom Enforcement’s Staff Physician at the Krome Detention Center in Miami from 2013 until July 2018 where she took care of immigrant detainees, managed the medical housing unit and supervised mid-level providers.   In 2017, Dr. Caraballo opened my Direct Primary care practice with the goal to provide. Dr. Annette Ansong is one of the 20 amazing women in white coats nominated for the Women in White Coats Hero of the Year award. Annette K. Ansong, MD, FACC is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist.  The daughter of immigrants from Ghana, she grew up in the suburbs of Washington, DC.  For college, she attended the University of Virginia. After graduating from medical school at Howard University, Dr. Ansong completed her pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship training at Duke University Medical Center.  She enjoys patient care and finding innovative ways of improving that care.
