This week our Guest Pastor Mark Glanville will be preaching for our fall Sermon Series "Windows Into God's Kingdom" his sermon"Tale of Two Meals"from the scripture passage of Luke 14: 1-24. Mark Glanville is the Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology at Regent College. Prior to coming to Regent, Mark pastored for 14 years in both Canada and Australia. For the past seven years Mark has been pastoring at Grandview Church in East Vancouver. In combining vocations of scholarship, teaching, and pastoring, Mark has followed an uncommon path, but it is the synergy of these three thingspastoring, researching, and teachingthat has shaped him to write and teach for the church with clarity and creativity. It is this synergy that equips him to train pastors with both theological depth and practical wisdom.Mark is also a trained jazz pianist who plays on the Vancouver jazz scene.

This week our Guest Pastor Ken Boonstra will be preaching for our fall Sermon Series "Windows Into God's Kingdom" his sermon"Knocking On Heaven's Door"from the scripture passage of Luke 18:1-8. Pastor Ken has recently retired this year from Bethel CRC. He was a pastor here at Willoughby from 1995-2011, and we are excited to have him back to worship with us!

This week Pastor Bert Slofstra will be starting our fall Sermon Series "Windows Into God's Kingdom" preaching his sermon"A Reckless Sower"from the scripture passage of Luke 8:1-15. Pastor Bert has been retired since June of 2017, and for the 27 years previous to that he served as lead pastor at Gateway Community (formerly First) CRC, Abbotsford. Since his retirement he has been active in helping out 4 other CRC churches (Vernon, Ladner, Prince George, Maple Ridge); and has been preaching in Smithers CRC via video recordings since November of 2020.

This week our Guest Pastor Sid VanderWoud will be preaching his sermon"Being Known"from the scripture passage of Psalm 139. Sid has pastored at Hope Community Church since 1996. Prior to that he was a vice principal and middle school teacher at John Knox Christian School in Burnaby. He has always loved teaching and working with people. Teaching and influencing people in their growth is a passion of his. Sid and his wife Candy have four children who are now all married, and ten grand kids.

This week our Guest Pastor Bill Veenstra, a retired pastor with the CRC, will be preaching his sermon"Ordinary People"from the scripture passage of 2 Corithians 4.

This Sunday we celebrated a new year for all the Ministries at Willoughby. After the service there will be a time for fellowship with a church BBQ to chat with the different Ministry leaders and get excited about the upcoming year. This week Pastor Jenna will be preaching her sermon"The Household of God"from the scripture passage of Ephesians 2:19-22.

This week is the ReActivate Youth Convention, we will be worshiping with the all the youth and leaders this Sunday. The guest speaker Pastor Grant Vanderhoek will be doing his message"Enough"from the scripture passage of John 6.

For the summer months, weve been doing a sermon series"Rediscovering The Holy Spirit"which specifically looked at how the Spirit transforms and enables us to be followers of Christ. This is the last Sunday of our series, please join us as we conclude our journey with the Holy Spirit. This week Pastor Jenna will be preaching her sermon"The Spirit as Our Greatest Need"from the scripture passage of Luke 11: 5-13.

This week our Guest Pastor Todd Statham, who is the Chaplain at Campus ReFormed Okanagan will be preaching his sermon"Life Among Lions"from the scripture passage of Psalm 57 and Galatians 5:22-26. Rev Dr Todd Statham loves to explore with students and faculty how all thingswhat we study, what we research, what we imagine and hopehold together in Christ (Colossians 1:17). Hes been a campus pastor at UBCO since 2016 after having previously worked as a pastor, professor and missionary in several countries.
