According to National geographic.org In a time when the ocean is threatened by climate change and pollution, coastlines are eroding, and entire species of marine life are at risk of extinction and the physical, chemical, and biological features of the ocean, including the ocean’s ancient history, its current condition,  its future; protecting the planet, learning from it, and predicting what the future will bring has activated my cognition and cognitive skills to the extent that it also ignited my intellectual passions to proffer A Bajan Case Study. This thinking which exudes from my cognitive development has to do with how I think, explore and even figure things out. Hence my brain development is part of cognitive development. Consequently, I have logically assume that according to Merriam Webster online dictionary it is the development of knowledge, skills, problem solving and dispositions, which assisted me to think about and understand the world around me especially now that I have contextualised A Bajan Case Study  © 2022. This line of reasoning seeks to shed light on those reasons making them explicit as a result of my analysis of Pico Teneriffe  adjoining Cove Bay, and Little Bay which are captivating elements of nature. Bajan Landmarks are juxtaposed against the elements of nature including art  colour, form, hue, line, shape, space, and texture, tints, tones, scale, proportion, unity, variety, rhythm, mass, shape, space, balance, volume, perspective, and depth.  Pico Teneriffe  adjoining Cove Bay, and Little Bay  appears to be and or is as old as or even older than Methuselah since it acts as an  idiom and also implies that the same is as old as Methuselah and or comports itself as a simile, which is still an abstract  phrase that compares these Bajan landmarks  like the elements of art imputing that they are  extremely old. However, in the scheme of things  Pico Teneriffe  adjoining Cove Bay, and Little Bay metaphorically comport themselves as a harmonious ensemble for generations with colours complementing one another within the space of geology, ecology and oceanology. Unlike neighbouring islands in the Lesser Antilles volcanic arc, Barbados is unusual because it is not a volcanic island (the only volcanic rocks are some ash beds from eruptions on neighbouring islands).  Moreover, according to every culture .com although The pear-shaped island consists of lowlands and terraced limestone plains.Contextually  speaking located in Barbados’ north east coast is Cove Bay.This Bay is a lovely picnic spot where the only sounds are of powerful waves pounding against high cliffs.Little Bay is a unique spot with interesting pools, breathtaking scenery and magnificent blowholes! and Pico Teneriffe,  a rocky cape which stands at an elevation of just over 300 feet. As a Media License Cultural practitioner  I am cognisant of the fact that since Cognitive development means how I think, explore and figure things out. In this environment it is logical to assume that it is the development of knowledge, skills, problem solving and dispositions, which assisted me to think about and understand the world around me. Given this line of reasoning I proffer A Bajan Exploring. .My line of reasoning is predicated on the fact that I have some background in cinematography and photography and therefore  will be employ the same  as tools to analyse, investigate, study, explore to  seek evidence, and or data, especially the impact of culture within the context of A Bajan Exploring . For example, Humans can enjoy almost every aspect of flowering plants. Their fragrances and colours are stimulating to the senses, they produce abundant food from most every part, and many flowering plants even have medicinal properties. Flowering trees produce wood for crafting and building.Birds inform us about the rest of the natural world, but we value them for much more than this. Podcast 148  Bajanwaves © 2022  ISBN 978-976-96824-9-8I am not an oceanographer, but was exposed to oceanography during my academic tenure as a sophomore in pursuance of a bachelors degree in Media Arts Major at New Jersey City University.  Theoretically,  I acquired knowledge in a wide range of topics, including marine life and ecosystems, ocean circulation, plate tectonics and the geology of the seafloor, and the chemical and physical properties of the ocean. This lived experience of enlightenment together with basic sciences in this ambience I have gained knowledge of this study coupled together with my cognition and cognitive skills now as an Author, Cinematographer, Media Art Specialist, License Cultural Practitioner, Podcaster and Publisher caused my skills to grow exponentially in the area of education and research.  On reflection this fascination, and lived experience  intertwined with my academic journey challenged me intellectually to proffer  Bajanwaves © 2022 in a book highlighting Characteristics, Amplitude, Period, Frequency, and Energy. It should be noted that within the context of linguistics this book Bajanwaves comports itself as a double entendres and a portmanteau can be applied interchangeably. The term wave is a slang and can be used to describe the latest trends.  Although this book Bajanwaves is a word and an expression yet it is capable of two interpretations. For example, this book Bajanwaves acts as  a portmanteau  in this text this word function is to blend the sounds and combine the meanings of the two others. This book Bajanwaves is part of  Bajan dialect which is one of the most prevalent attributes that connect the people of Barbados to their African and English heritage. The word 'Bajan' is derived from the word “Barbadian”. However due to stronger accents which once prevailed, the word sounded more like 'Barbajan' and eventually was shortened to Bajan. To add to this discourse according to Writing Explained in English, homophones are words that are pronounced the same way but do not mean the same thing. Many homophones are different parts of speech. Waive and wave can both be used as a verb, but only one can be used as a noun. In spoken English, we can use context to determine which word is being used, but these words become more confusing in writing, especially as verbs. According to My eldest brother Shurland Anthony Mayers “My Little Brother Stephen Andre Gittens that’s what I called Stephen, and he would respond yes Doc. So much so that Laura asked him if I was a doctor). Stephen was a humble young man who didn’t seek the spotlight; he preferred to sit in the back ground. When I left Barbados, Stephen was 18 years old so I only heard about his sermons from relatives and friends who paid glowing tributes to him. Such as “we could do with him in the USA he would be great; I would listen to him all day; he must perform my marriage ceremony; when I die I want him to conduct my service.” I would convey these sentiments to him and he would give his famous chuckle and say behave yourself. Stephen loved sports dearly, especially cricket; and as a youngster he would spend all day playing cricket during summer vacation. Our mum would have great difficulty getting him to come inside to eat. I took Stephen to Kensington Oval to see Australia Vs the West Indies. He never forgot that occasion and would give me a ball by ball description of the events that occurred that day including how my co-workers from the Post Office and I reacted to the events of the day. Stephen loved to debate and would debate you on any subject, but make sure you have you facts before you start. Many nights when I am home for vacation Stephen, Arnott, William and I, would sometimes have lengthy and lively debates, on all types of topics. Sometimes Emerald would join us. Being the oldest brother I always felt it was my duty to protect my younger siblings. It’s ironic that when my siblings and I played church I was always the priest or pastor, but as life would have it, it was Stephen, My Little Brother, who grew up and became a pastor. I loved My Little Brother dearly, the way he lived his life was the perfect example of the way I had envisioned myself living. Over the years Stephen and I became very, very close, we would talk on the phone for hours at night. So much that Laura would always tease him by asking him if he had just finished his session. We had our last session on Thursday night it lasted more than 1 1⁄2 hours. This was a short session which ended with me saying to him “go take your rest, we will talk later, you sound tired, I love you, stay strong, stay safe. I was planning to call him on Saturday night. I sent him a text at 7:37 that night, but before I could call him he went home to see his King. Stephen was a very religious individual who served the Lord with pride, he practiced what he preached. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, friend. He would go above and beyond to assist others never expecting anything in return. You could depend on him for sound advice and words of encouragement; for example, Stephen shared a story with me about an occasion when he was preaching in St. Phillip, after the service, he was introduced to a young man in the congregation, they chatted for a while, during the conversation Stephen encouraged him to be positive, to continue what he was doing and let God take control of his life because God had great thing in store for him. That young man was Carlos Braithwaite who later became very successful in his career as a cricketer. Stephen often said “if it’s the Lords will, it’s the Lords will” My Little Brother, as it was once said “The way you handle the world, is the most wonderful thing. Gentle is your criticism and kind is your laughter. We have heard horror stories of cruel brothers, so the fact that you are so good is a relief and a joy. We love you for everything you are. Although you are no longer with us physically, you loving memories will be with us forever. From a literal perspective an abstract can be accepted as a short summary of published or unpublished research paper, usually about a paragraph. However at the end of the day existing in thought this ethos can be categorised as the total way of life of a people. Abstractly speaking since culture is made up of so many elements and some more obvious than others then to place the same close together furthermore side by side, especially with an arresting or surprising effect, or in a way that invites comparison or contrast. For example, just as the precincts of history are seemingly punctuated with Timelines. Contextually speaking then this cultural lens when use as a rhetorical device has the capacity to capture and frame a sequence of events between the periods 1966 to 2021 regarding the evolution of culture within Barbados’ historical space.  This expression was juxtaposed against the theory "the determination of the actual temporal sequence of past events".   What is important though as nouns the difference between evolution and change is that evolution is (general) gradual directional change especially one leading to a more advanced or complex form; growth; development while change is (countable) the process of becoming different.  This expression and thought   brings into focus the construct Chrysalis.  In this sphere it is noted that hipster illustrates, culture as always evolving and since the angle is the perceived size of an object depends on the size of the image projected onto the retina. And therefore the size of the image depends on the angle of vision. A near and a far object can therefore appear the same size if their edges produce the same angle of vision.  A case in point with an optical device such as glasses or binoculars, microscope and telescope the angle of vision can be widened so that the object appears larger, which is favorable for the resolving power of the eye (see visual angle) In the scheme of things I humbly suggest that the afore said reasoning reason implies that Culture consists of abstract ideas, values, and perceptions of the world that inform and are reflected in people’s behavior. Make no mistake Culture is shared by members of a society and produces behaviour that is intelligible to other members of that society. That said Cultures are learned rather than inherited and by the same token it can be interpreted as the different parts of a culture functioning as an integrated whole a view espoused by Andra Sanders. Therefore there is no doubt in my mind that Culture defined as the symbols, language, beliefs, values, and artifacts are part of any society draws our attention on two basic components namely-ideas and symbols while on the one hand and artifacts (material objects) on the other.  At this phase, it is essential that I introduce Lelie A.White’s perspective “Virtually all cultural anthropologist take it for granted ,no doubt that culture is the basic and central concept of their science. There is, however, a disturbing lack of agreement as to what they mean by this term. To some, culture is learned behavior. To others, it is not behavior at all, but an abstraction from behavior-whatever that is. Stone axes and pottery bowls are culture to some anthropologists, but no material object can be culture to others. Culture exists only in the mind, according to some; it consists of observable things and events in the external world to others. Some anthropologists think of culture as consisting of ideas, but they are divided upon the question of their locus: some say they are in the minds of the peoples studied, others hold that they are in the minds of ethnologists. On the other hand in all plausibility all things being considered we might owe our very existence to it because its pull of gravity might have set our plate tectonics in motion. To further elucidate this point as I continue navigating this space I have discovered that the stark reality is that without plate tectonics, our planet might be more like Venus, toasty and dead.
