Why Not? An Opinion: The South Carolina Legislature and the Illegal Heartbeat Ban
In this special episode of Why Not? An Opinion, Thomas and Caleb go over the specific workings of the South Carolina state legislature, and some of the most horrid pieces of legislation that the GOP in the state is trying to pass. This includes an illegal heartbeat abortion ban, and a bill to get rid of the independent election commission that keeps an eye on the elections in the state. The guys also go over some of the prompts that you can use and modify to contact your legislature, and we encourage you to reach out with any questions that you may have. Prompt for use in contacting your state legislature: “Hello! My name is Thomas Marshall and I am a constituent of your senate district how are you doing today. I am calling today to let you know that I am not in support of the Fetal Heartbeat Bill that will be voted on soon by the Legislature. I would like to call disapproving that bill because (list reasons if you would like) and I hope the senator decides not to vote for such an egregious bill that would strip women’s rights from many South Carolinians including people right here in his/her district."Follow the WREN Network on Instagram @wrenetwork!Follow @TheBlueLabSC on Instagram!Follow Circle Up SC on Instagram @circleupsc!Follow us on Instagram @whynotapodcast, and email us at why.not.a.podcast3@gmail.com!Podcast written and created by Thomas Marshall and Caleb Todd.
