036: The Transformation: From the Never-Stop Hustle of the Over-Achieving Entrepreneur to discovering the Answer to Living a Truly Wonderful Life + Ayahuasca, Psychedelics + a whole lot more with Ben Pottinger
iTunes | Stitcher Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to episode 35 of the White Pony Network Podcast. Soon we’ll be doing a rebrand of the podcast from White Pony to the MindAim Academy Podcast, and this episode is definitely on topic of the slightly new direction! I first had the pleasure of meeting Ben around 11 years ago when I booked him for a few gigs as a DJ. In 2010 we both coincidentally completed the Landmark Forum together, and this event really set us and especially Ben on the path. The next time I saw Ben he was in a shirt in front of a white board on a facebook video talking about business marketing. From there Ben went hard at both personal development and business and was having quite a lot of success with business. He would get up at 4:30am and grind out long days and was extremely focussed. He reached the stage where he was plateauing, was miserable and his performance really started to dip. This is the story of Ben’s incredible transformation to a man who has discovered what it truly means to be happy and where success sits amongst that. This is truly inspiring and I see this as part of the new wave and very much leading the new wave of realisation as society slowly wakes up to the truth – for lack of a better term. One night a message came to Ben to reach out to me to do the Podcast, and this is how this came about. It was meant to be that we’re able to share this conversation with you. So listen up, take notes, and get ready to learn from Ben Pottinger’s remarkable and revealing story. Do you feel like no matter what you do, you’re never getting to where you want to go? You could be stuck by limiting beliefs, self-sabotage and self-worth. Our experts will coach you to win your inner game and achieve your outer purpose through the MindAim Academy..for free! CLICK HERE for more information! My Biggest Take-Aways ‘Whatever you put your mind to and whatever you put effort into, and if you love it and if you’re interested in it, you can achieve anything’ ‘We are meaning making machines and we have the ability to determine what things mean’ A twin flame is someone who is a beautiful and harsh reflection of who you are Ben learned that he didn’t honour his feelings. If you act as if your feelings don’t matter, your feelings are a part of you so that’s like saying that you don’t matter Ayahuasca is called the Grandmother – When you have this, you don’t experience anything new. You get a highlight into what is your life and what needs to come up It wasn’t until Ben showed 100% love to both parents that he felt 100% love for himself I was working hard to escape myself to have success in business so I would feel good. That’s why I was doing it (Wes – We’re all guilty of chasing the illusion of the dangling carrot!) If you train for more than 40 minutes at the gym it can actually be used as a sedation tool to escape reality Sensual is using all of your senses We’re born perfect, whole and complete; yet as we’ve gone through life we’ve added layers and stories and perceptions and beliefs that forget that We have that inner kid in us that wants to come out, however all this stuff keeps getting piled on us and we forget the core nature of who we truly are There’s only one relationship and that’s the relationship with yourself, everything else is a reflection of that You get to experience life more and fully when you shred those layers of ‘I’ll feel good when I do this’ etc I had this realisation, l was hysterically laughing that life is like a cosmic joke because we make it hard and we make it complicated and we think it’s hard yet we’re the ones making it hard. We’re the ones that put our own limits and frustrations on us The best way that you can help others is by you being you and you being the light and honouring people where they are and not wanting to change them Everything that was built, was built by one person with one voice in one moment and made one decision. I can do that, I’ve got one voice and in one moment I can make one decision If it’s external it can be taken away. If our identity is attached to it and it’s then taken away, then we’re in trouble There’s a difference between education and experience, you can read something or you can experience it Energy is essentially an encapsulation of your thoughts, feelings and emotions It’s important to reach out to the right people to get the help we need – as we don’t know what we don’t know How to break away from your familiar? 1. Become aware of what is pulling you back, both your body and what you’re feeling inside 2. Get someone outside of you to help you (You can’t solve a problem from the same level that created it – Einstein) ‘One’s joy is in direct proportion to their willingness to experience the unknown.’ So the more you lean into the unknown, the more joy you experience We don’t need a conscious reason to reply to ‘How are you?’ with ‘I’m amazing’ The Great 8 Morning Routine: Green drink (Yor Health); Sweat; Meditating; Journaling; Sending a message to someone who I love, honour, appreciate and respect; Study something You be the change that you wish to see in the world – Ghandi My businesses didn’t grow as fast as I wanted them to because I wasn’t ready Meditation is like going to the gym – you don’t get big in a day, you must keep at it. It’s creating a gap between your conscious and sub-conscious Respond not React What is the answer in one sentence: ‘Enjoy life’ ‘Don’t waste time’ Enjoy this moment, the moments coming up and the people that you are with. What’s the alternative. To not? So enjoy life I think everyone has a purpose. Mine is to enjoy the now as much as possible. So by living that way it will help the people who I surround Be weary of in the future vs now. It’s good to have something in the future, but for me I’m about being in the now. I am exited for the future however I’m not escaping the now to get to the future. A month is always a month away no matter what time zone you’re in. Research Tyson Fury’s story: He set his whole life to win the world title, won it and then thought ‘Is this it?’. He fell out of shape so quickly and went off the rails. He wasn’t physically or mentally fit to fight so he had his belt stripped from him. He made a year long comeback, won a huge fight and donated it all to mental health awareness Progress over perfection You’re perfect, whole and complete now. There’s nothing outside that you can get that’s going to make you feel better than when you feel better from the inside You don’t have to achieve anything, however you would do it because you can We put on these layers which mask our true self. We put on these layers in an attempt to escape from the now After viewing the photo of Ben: ‘It’s almost like you’ve learned something that was always there’ Show Notes 04:00 Young Ben’s interests – Billiards 9:15 The Landmark Forum and consequential change in direction 20:15 The old Ben, hustling and the Bali adventures 31:20 The Wakeup Warrior journey 39:05 The next step & the turning point 45:05 The Reiki experience 49:20 The next mentor 53:30 Psychedelics, experiences and breakthroughs 1:06:50 After all that, what’s now different in your life + some new and extraordinary experiences 1:23:40 What is powering all of this and what are the findings? 1:29:30 How do we break away from our familiar? 1:33:10 What’s the plan now? 1:39:15 The Great 8 – 8 things every single morning 1:44:00 The Big 5 Snooker world titles The girlfriend journey Warrior Week Marci as a mentor + The Melbourne Event Going from no psychedelics or plant medicines to doing 6 in 2 weeks 1:45:00 What are some inner areas that tend to hold you back or have held you back and how are you able or have been able to overcome them? It was that parasite inside me that was attacking me that wanted to sedate and escape and not come to my full wholeness and just to fully love myself. So it was recognizing that and eliminating that through Reiki, through breath work techniques, emotional releasing, plant medicines, what Marci teaches. So definitely releasing stick, low, dark gloomy energy inside of me or emotions that were blocking me to feeling my higher self. It’s like a blockage in the sink that you can’t really see, and you need to get the plumber in. Once you clear them you feel liberated and so much lighter. 1:47:50 What is your favourite quote? To change the world, you first must change yourself Be the change that you want to see in the world 1:49:00 What are the best books you’ve read and/or resources that you’ve got the most from? Ayahuasca, Meditation (it’s like going to the gym – you don’t get big in a day, you must keep at it) 1:51:40 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? The old favourite was The Wolf of Wall Street, but not anymore. Awake (about Yogananda’s journey) Heal documentary 1:53:30 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years? Attention is attention and it’ll probably be a new platform I think there will be more awareness brought to the power of plant medicines and psychedelics used for conscious awakening and healing work in such a profound and deeper way. The concern is that it’s not in the government’s best interests. 1:56:45 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? Are there any that you’re willing share with us that we could help by keeping you accountable? My main goal is just to continue to just see what’s possible. My question that I got was ‘How do you get the most out of life?’ and I got the answer through psychedelics. So continue to lean into that and to live that. 1:59:10 Who are you looking to connect with? I feel called whenever the time comes to help entrepreneurs specifically to get out of their head and process the stress and overwhelm etc. 2:00:10 Do you think that we don’t have a particular purpose in the external world? I think everyone has a purpose. Mine is to enjoy the now as much as possible. So by living that way it will help the people who Ben surrounds. Be weary of in the future vs now. It’s good to have something in the future, but for me I’m about being in the now. I am exited for the future however I’m not escaping the now to get to the future. A month is always a month away no matter what time zone you’re in. 2:06:50 Where can our listeners reach you? 035: The World’s #1 Men’s Sexual Leadership Mentor, Creating an International Business From Scratch, The Tinder Effect on Society & Changing the world for the better – for both men and women with Andrew Mioch
iTunes | Stitcher Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to episode 35 of the White Pony Network Podcast. This episode was recorded a little while ago and is really quite fascinating, so I’m pleased to be able to share it with you now! I first had the pleasure of meeting Andrew Mioch about 3 years ago when we was a women’s dating coach. We reconnected in 2018 at Dr John Demartini’s Breakthrough Experience. Andrew has had a lot of experience in his life and was searching for how he can best serve the world. Then he landed on sex, specifically for men, and in a way where everyone wins. It’s fair to say that this episode may not be for the kids, although I wouldn’t say that it’s not too intense. It’s very informative and Andrew is out there changing lives in a blue ocean niche, there are hardly any competitors and there is a big need for his services. Andrew has created Sexual Quantum Leap or SQL. He realised that there was a need not being filled. Here’s how Andrew puts it: ‘I cater for the regular dude who’s into personal development, who’s into growth and he just wants to be better in the bedroom and understand why he’s anxious, and I’m giving a voice for men in that respect. Men and women are both going to benefit from this because the more open men are and the more they communicate, the better the relationship. Everyone wins.’ Andrew’s Business partner is an ex world renowned world class pick up artist by the name of Pierre De Sousa, who changed and teamed up with Andrew and now these two men help other men have deep connections with their partners in their relationships and really evolve on their individual journeys. Sexual Quantum Leap have some awesome free events happening around Australia later this year – Sydney on the 9th, Brisbane on the 10thand Melbourne on the 12thof December. There’s more info in the Sexual Quantum Leap Facebook group and at SexualQuantumLeap.com. In such a short time, they’re now running sold out retreats and events all over the world and the boys have countless testimonials and are growing and growing, so it’s evident that what they teach is pure gold. Andrew is an awesome guy. He was worked out his purpose, he knows exactly what he needs to do, and he is out there changing lives. Please enjoy this conversation with Andrew Mioch. My Biggest Take-Aways ‘What you do consistently just becomes normal doesn’t it?’ (This is something I’ve been thinking about lately – We can build self-confidence through doing what we say we’ll do, and if we do it enough, it becomes our familiar – part of our evolved identity) On self-doubt: Speak from your heart because you can never lie. How can it not be good enough if I’m speaking from my heart and generally trying to change people? ‘When you serve the world, the world wants to serve you’ Presence not performance You’re not messed up. You can learn to unlearn your bad habits 3 things to focus on: Understanding you, understanding her and understanding you both together The way you pleasure yourself is the way you do the dance It’s crucial to have open and honest communication in a relationship I write 10 things that I’m grateful for every day and then I recite ‘I’m grateful every day in every way for everything I have and everything that’s coming’ The more that you step into your power, the more the temptations that come – temptations that the universe knows are tempting to you – Once we really start progressing on the path, the opportunities open up, including distractions. Worst case scenario in Australia for most people is you’re going to end up on your parents or friend’s couch and Centrelink will pay you until you’re back on your feet. We have an exceptional safety net here! When I changed my relationship with money, everything changed as well ‘Don’t wait for the storm to pass, learn to dance in the rain’ Andrew uses this to change his state and celebrate in the face of adversity I don’t say ‘I can’t afford it’, I say ‘How can I afford it?’ and ‘I’ll do whatever it takes’ Look for an even exhancge when reaching our to catch up with people who inspire you. What can you bring to the table? ‘I know my strengths. I delegate everything else. I’m really good at two things in life: Public speaking and being good on the bedroom. Everything else I delegate.’ When dealing with online criticism: ‘You know who that person is who you’re targeting. Everything else is irrelevant’ Show Notes 5:30 How it all started 16:40 The Tinder effect 22:40 Learning from Dr John Demartini 27:00 Sexual Quantum Leap 40:00 The modern day and how sex is viewed and how we can connect more with our partners 51:20 SQL plans for the future! 54:15 Dealing with limiting beliefs 59:30 The Big 5 Andrew’s first amateur boxing fight – Hard work, dedication, discipline and seeing what I was made of When I got arrested My parents separating at the age of 12/13 My best friend’s death Starting my own business and going all in When I changed my relationship with money, everything changed as well 1:04:05 What are some inner areas that have held you back and how have you been able to overcome them? I have been a man who has jus gone ‘I am going at this at 100%. Let’s work this shit out, reflect on my past and clear everything up. When it brought up discomfort, I would face it and it would allow me to move forward.’ 1:06:05 What is your favourite quote? ‘Don’t wait for the storm to pass, learn to dance in the rain’ Andrew uses this to change his state and celebrate in the face of adversity 1:08:50 What are the best books you’ve read and/or resources that you’ve got the most from? Dr John Demartini Ron Malhotra Stuart Hallam I have got most of my wisdom from mentors rather than books. Only go to mentors if you want to be in the position that they’re in. Find someone, know they’re legitimate, suck it up and pay the money 1:12:40 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? The Push with Derren Brown on Netflix The Devil’s Advocate 1:15:20 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years? For my niche, there’s only 2 other people in the world doing what I’m doing. I cater for the regular dude who’s into personal development, who’s into growth and he just wants to be better in the bedroom and understand why he’s anxious, and I’m giving a voice for men in that respect. Men and women are both going to benefit from this because the more open men are and the more they communicate, the better. Everyone mins. 1:17:50 Did you achieve your goals that you set yourself over the last 12 months? Andrew breaks his goals down into weeks and months and is definitely on track to his ultimate goal I have a lot of clarity with what I’m doing. Most people don’t, which was me in the past. I’m doing whatever it takes to get my message out, regardless of hitting a 12-month goal or not. Focusing and visualising my goals and having the metaphysical and physical worlds meet. 1:21:45 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? 034: The Entrepreneur’s Journey: From Six-Figure Debt & Sleeping on the Warehouse Floor to Building a Wildly Successful Business! Plus Many Life Lessons, Reflections & Original Quotes Along The Way with James Hepburn
iTunes | Stitcher Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to episode 34 of the White Pony Network Podcast. A few months back I had the pleasure of catching up Mr James Hepburn for this wonderful conversation. I first met James whilst he and past podcast guests Josh Giuliani & Dim Nikolakakis all shared a co-working space together. James is fascinating as he has had the real entrepreneur’s journey of jumping into business doing it super tough whilst learning his way out of it and growing to be the successful copywriter and business owner that he is today. His outlook on life is just awesome and he is a true online marketing leader. My biggest take-aways section in the show notes is absolutely massive, as James kept dropping incredible nuggets of wisdom. I wanted to pull out at least ten, but here are just three of my favourites: ‘I don’t believe in regret at all. I think regret is delusion. If you regret it, you’re not seeing the benefit in it. You thought that it was the best decision at the time or you didn’t know something that you know now’ ‘Look at it more from a purpose perspective: Alright what need am I trying to meet by doing that, that’s not getting met atm? How can I get it met through doing what I want to do, because you just don’t need to work for someone else, you know?’ ‘When there’s no cause greater than you that’s driving you, you’ll never be happy’ This conversation was absolutely amazing and I’m very confident that you’ll feel the same. So please enjoy this episode with James Hepburn. My Biggest Take-Aways ‘I’m just hoping the suggestion of the promise land came from an honest man’ There are 2 things that you don’t want to happen in your life: 1. You never want to not work hard enough that you don’t achieve your goals and you’ve got to live with the disappointment of it 2. To work your arse off, get exactly what you wanted and realise when you get there that it’s just not what you’d hoped that it would be When James was first getting started in business, he was in the mindset of ‘I can make this shit work, I can do anything’ The number 1 thing that you need to make it in business is a healthy dose of delusion ‘Business early on was hell, a first world problem obviously’ James hit a point where a few things were coming to a head and he got so stressed out (It reiterates the importance of training our mind) ‘I learnt how to get into it, I’ll learn how to get out of it’ ‘It’s funny now because I teach story telling but at the time I was just doing what intuitively felt right’ ‘I never viewed myself as a good writer but I’ve always been a gifted communicator’ ‘You’ll be dead soon’ ‘I meet people now in the corporate marketing world that tell me about marketing strategy and without being a snob I’m like ‘Man I get what you’re saying, there may be some validity to your point, but when you’re like 200k in debt sleeping on the floor of a fucking warehouse and you’ve got to put your money where your mouth is and your marketing works, then I’ll listen to your opinion. Maybe that’s arrogant but going through that journey I was in the most pain that I’ve ever been in’ ‘I don’t believe in regret at all. I think regret is delusion. If you regret it, you’re not seeing the benefit in it. You thought that it was the best decision at the time or you didn’t know something that you know now’ ‘The journey happens how it happens and you’re just kind of like a prisoner to the journey. That’s the wrong way of putting it, you always have free will but you know what I’m saying.’ – We go to what’s familiar, so how much of it is a choice if we’re living through our automatic cycles, our subconscious? ‘I think every time you think you know who you are, you’ve got work to do’ Tony Robbins’ 6 Core Human Needs: Certainty, Variety, Significance, Love & Connection, Growth, Contribution. ‘People think they’re happy when they travel. No you’re not, you’re just overly stimulated because you’re in this new environment and your need for variety is getting totally stoked. When you get back home, whether now, next year or in ten years, you’re still going to get bored at some certain point if you don’t resolve that’ ‘Look at it more from a purpose perspective: Alright what need am I trying to meet by doing that, that’s not getting met atm, how can I get it met through doing what I want to do, because you just don’t need to work for someone else, you know?’ ‘Go and listen to people who are talking to your audience so you can work out how they’re thinking and what exactly they want eg If you’re in the market meeting women, listen to someone coaching women wanting to date men.’ ‘Get clear on your market, your offer and your strategy’ ‘I think we live in a world where the truth is refreshing’ ‘I think a lot of people that hate on veganism are doing it from a place of defending their own identity or their own way of being’ ‘There’s a fine line between persistence and delusion’ ‘When there’s no cause greater than you that’s driving you, you’ll never be happy’ ‘You’re 27, you’ve got your own apartment, you’re making x amount of money, you’re travelling to all these places all the time, you’ve got all these clients, you’ve got friends all over the world, dude everyone would want you’re life’. ‘Yeah and that’s the problem. Because if it looks like that on paper and it feels how it feels internally, there’s a big f***ing problem’ ‘The more money you make the more problems you have, because I didn’t have systems’ ‘Being like f*ck I’m not worried about money, I don’t think comes from having money, I think that comes from someone who has internal peace. There is no certainty in money’ ‘If you live in Melbourne and earn 50k, you’re in the top 1% of the world. You’ve already made it’ ‘A ‘No’ is just ‘Not now’’ ‘I want to be the person that always went for it. You’re going to be dead soon. However you’ve got to do it, just find a way to do it because you’re going to f***ing die’ ‘If I view myself as already dead and that I am just living this shit out, then there’s nothing to lose’ ‘Neediness comes from a lack of willingness to be vulnerable’ ‘If you’re not sure on your purpose, no woman’s going to give you purpose.’ You’re still going to be confused and uncertain, and that’s probably going to f*** your relationship up’ ‘Documentaries can sometimes do more harm than good. You go away thinking that you know all about something but you don’t, you only know about that perspective of it’ ‘I think the more shit you can watch that gets you away from traditional media or what your parents have told you about the world, and makes you see shit that goes down, the better’ Will it get to the point where bigger countries couldn’t invade inferior countries with no technology because they will have atom bombs of their own? ‘They already do right? So, who knows man, not my problems to solve, I’m just trying to write ads’ ‘I want to make x amount per month.’ ‘Do you actually? Or is that just what would piss off people that you know? Or is that what would make people that you know jealous? Or is that what would make you feel like you’re enough? If they’re the reasons that you’re doing it, fine. I don’t think that it’s a long-term strategy but I think it’s a strategy.‘ ‘The number 1 thing that I think holds people back is what their parents think of them, for sure’ ‘It’s f***ing crazy to think that like 40 years ago you would finish school and you just couldn’t have done the shit that we’re doing now. You just couldn’t have’ ‘Not all criticism is hate. Listen to the overall message. If you’re putting out content and no one is engaging with it, that’s sending a message to you. Either you’ve got no traffic and you’re doing shit wrong or no one gives a f*** what you’re talking about. You might need to pivot’ ‘I think the more shit you can watch that gets you away from traditional media or what your parents have told you about the world, and makes you see shit that goes down, the better’ Show Notes 05:00 James’s story 25:25 Wes asking some questions of James’s amazing story 31:00 What has helped you become aware of what you want to do? 40:00 The grass is always greener 49:30 Making money and not making money 1:05:05 Let’s talk business strategy 1:14:00 Diet etc 1:19:30 Delusion 1:32:00 The Big 5 The dancefloor business When I went to Mexico When I first moved to Melbourne and got the job at Holden Living in Colombia and locking eyes with a local which brought on an epiphany of how most people in the world live and how James by being from Aus has won the birth and life lottery Getting punched in the face. That shit changes you. You get in touch with that raw, masculine part of yourself that I think every guy has that society has told us to supress’ 1:43:30 What are some inner areas that tend to hold you back or have held you back and how are you able or have been able to overcome them? I think now it’s like a lack of patience and lack of persistence to some extent. I did a fear challenge where every day I did something that scared me. That shit’s invaluable. That time James put everything on the line to approach a girl who was a client who had just left their meeting a minute earlier. ‘I accessed this part of myself that was like ‘This is f***ing happening. Whether I get rejected or not is irrelevant. I can live with that. I can’t live with not doing it. I was like Liam Neeson in taken man. I’m going to find her and I’m going to ask her out. Whatever happens, happens, that not up to me to decide. ‘Now for example when I speak on stage – It’s still easier than that’ 1:49:30 What is your favourite quote? ‘You’re going to be dead soon’ 1:52:30 What are the best books you’ve read and/or resources that you’ve got the most from? DotCom Secrets & Expert Secrets by Russell Brunson are two books that everyone should read who wants to get into marketing and business Models by Mark Manson Donald Trump – Art of the Deal & Art of the Comeback Way of the Superior Man by David Dieda The Game by Neil Strauss Influence by Robert Cialdini I listen to a lot of dating shit because I think dating and marketing are very similar 1:55:10 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? Avicii Icarus Matthew Hussey content Joe Rogan’s Podcast Winter on Fire 1:58:40 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years? Nothing ever changes in my opinion. Things change way less than people thinking they change. You’re still selling shit to humans. Our brains haven’t changed in 10,000 years. The platform will change, content will become bigger. People buy for the same reasons. It’s just a matter of adapting to the platform. 2:00:55 Did you achieve your goals that you set yourself over the last 12 months? I don’t really set goals, I just have areas that I focus on. Put some weight on, live life, make money I think you should set intentions 2:02:20 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? Are there any that you’re willing share with us that we could help by keeping you accountable? What I’m more focused on now is building a business. Outsourcing and building a team and a business. 2:20:00 Who are you looking to connect with? I’m writing copy, that’s my main skillset, so I’m looking to connect with people that run businesses that want copy written – email sequences, VSL’s, sales letters, landing pages, have a decent sixed list that want to do it on a monthly basis sort of thing. Big ecommerce companies, information marketin, digital products, like coaches etc is my focus now. 2:20:35 Where can our listeners reach you? 033: Becoming Conscious Of Our Own Self-Love, Opening The Path To Great Achievement, Tantra, Reiki & Climbing Mt Everest with Ranetha Perera
iTunes | Stitcher Hello Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to episode 33 of the White Pony Network Podcast. After university, Ranetha was working in a large recruitment agency and doing really well but knew that there was something else. After an invitation from a friend to attend a personal development event, she was on the path. Ranetha has grown into an extraordinary person through climbing Mt Everest, purchasing her first investment property, taking on a new and more advanced role in her career, moving from self-development to more specifically self-love, embodiment, tantra and reiki and more brilliant things. Last year Ranetha set the goal of helping 1 million people combat body image and specifically have more self-love and self-acceptance in their lives – and she is well on the way to achieving that. Ranetha is already transforming lives through her self-love workshops and it’s exciting to see the path that she’s on. She shares plenty of wisdom here for us, so please enjoy this conversation with Ranetha Perera Join us at the next MindAim Conference where many of our Podcast guests present live! When I can say that, everything is ok, everything else works.’ What happened vs the story we tell ourselves Energy work is something that has become so powerful Daily gratitude practice to change mindset – Every morning I share with someone what I am grateful for right now, what I am grateful for at the end of the day and what I am grateful for in the future and the last two I say in past tense like it’s already happened and occurred but really feel into the different senses. The motivation behind that is when you’re grateful for anything, you create an energy that’s kind of an excitement and that energy really helps manifest and there’s been so many things in my life that I created and set into existence and I just know that it’s come form that continuous gratitude and sense of being. Emotional release techniques are important – Yelling in the car, having a tantrum etc The amount of tensions that people store in their bodies that then becomes disease – it could just be eradicated Every man is so connected to themselves, they just need a way to access it Make time for yourself. Get a coach to help you work out what’s going on inside. Have some activities that you enjoy that you do to balance you out and bring you back to equilibrium. Having boundaries to look after yourself – including the ability to say no to others powerfully when it doesn’t suit, is a wonderful thing People have 1000 versions of yourself – every single person you know has a different view of view depending on when and how they know you Your life doesn’t actually make you a liar. If you say something and you believe it, it’ll happen. The universe doesn’t create you as a liar. 032: Science, Coding, Working For Tesla, Business, Happiness, Habits, Money, Consciousness & More, All In One Extraordinary Conversation With Michael Zupecki
iTunes | Stitcher Hello ladies & gentlemen and welcome to episode 31 of the WPNP! Plenty happening, plenty of learning, evolving, growing and most importantly perspective. This has been a fun journey in the first half of 2019! Plenty of work on the new venture MindAim, complemented by this podcast and the wonderful, intelligent and brilliant guests that I am fortunate to interview. And today my friends is no exception. Even though we grew up in the same area, we didn’t really cross paths until recently. About 6 months ago and I had the pleasure of being introduced to Michael Zupecki by our good mutual friend Sid Umesh (WPNP episode number #). Michael and I had an extraordinary hour long conversation. He just has one of those minds. He brings a big game from the science side of things. His perspective, knowledge and guesses of the unknown are both brilliant and fascinating. When we got together for this a few months ago now, we just let it run and 3 hours later we decided to wrap it up. We covered so much. It was awesome. If you’re thinking to yourself ‘Wes there is no chance I’m sticking round for 3 hours’ I would say reconsider that, followed by ‘Okay I’ll just send you to my two favourite bits’. The first is around the 37 minute mark where Michael delivers the most incredible explanation of how our habits work and why we get stuck with them that I’ve ever heard. The second bit to listen to is the final 5 minutes where Michael shares with us his explanation of what he thinks consciousness is. Michael is an entrepreneur and has a heap of excellent advice for those looking to or already starting out in business. He has also been an employee for many organisations, including Tesla, and has a bunch of gold advice there too. Michael just knows a lot about a lot. All I can say is: Ladies and gentlemen, sit back and enjoy this conversation with Michael Zupecki. Join us at the next MindAim Conference where many of our Podcast guests present live! CLICK HERE for more information plus free tickets to our next event! My Biggest Take-Aways Pronounce your T’s! Covering this has really helped me since pronounce my words better ‘Long enough to have a kid is where I draw the line if I hate doing something, because otherwise it might impregnate me with too much negativity for the rest of my life’ I keep hearing more and more of just how much of a powerful skill programming is Do what you’re afraid of because that’s where the growth is going to be ‘I’m certain that the uncertainty is certainly serving me’ Pick the right narrative for your situation or circumstance. It’s malleable. It’s so important to see the balance in everything. A healthy mind has a reading list larger than it will survive to get through. Your eyes should be bigger than your stomach when it comes to learning. A habit is a strategy. Our brain takes a quarter of our energy. To conserve energy our brain runs learning habits on autopilot. Listen to the explanation, it’s incredible (35:35) It may not make sense now, but it will (Steve Jobs once took Calligraphy class) ‘You are the same as everything all at once’ ‘We are not on this earth, we are of this earth’ ‘Every atom in your body has changed every 7 years on average, therefore any memory you have from ore than 7 years ago, you weren’t there for’ ‘Well if I am, then so is everything else. So everything is the same thing’ The beauty of nature is not in the atoms themselves, it’s in the way that they’re put together’ – Carl Sagan ‘When you were born, you woke up having never gone to sleep. So what would it be like to go to sleep and never wake up’ – Alan Watts on death ‘CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is thinking about things and reframing them. This can shut down an overactive amygdala’. ‘The very essence of how you know you’re alive, when you can actually step back and alive is being able to step back and look at your own thoughts. That’s when you’re being aware. If by contrast you just responded to them, are you alive? Are you aware?’ ‘It’s a fine line between emotions being fun and you being a total slave to them’ ‘That’s just the way I am’ If you think that, then you’re right, however you can change that at ANY time. ‘To use consumerism to try to make yourself happy is like having a shot of alcohol. It’s really intense, quick, you don’t taste it fully and it may even burn a bit afterwards. At the time it seems like a good idea, but if you do too much of it you’re left feeling empty and sick. However the experience drinking wine and learning about wine, is a journey that will never complete. That’s what we should be focussing on, things that have us growing indefinitely’ ‘The one person that you’re going to spend your life with is you, so if you’re not happy with yourself, there’s a problem’ ‘When you say you’ve got to find yourself, conceptually you start treating yourself as a single object, and you start to objectify what you should be and then you create this gap between what you think you should be and what you’re not and that creates anxiety, and then you go looking for it in the physical world. The people that come back from those experiences always talk about the internal realisation’ ‘Social media apps have all become a single column slot machine. What’s on the screen is not as interesting as what might just be under it. You’re scrolling for things that you can’t even see yet’ ‘Boredom is a precursor to creativity. If you don’t allow yourself to get bored, what ideas don’t exist in this world because of that?’ ‘The brain is a universe rendering machine. It sucks in stuff and it projects out a reality. The more you know, the richer and more colourful that reality and you won’t know until you arrive’ ‘We talk to ourselves in words. If you only knew 10 words, your thoughts are limited in what you can think to yourself. The words you know, the more tools you have to solve problems’ ‘School doesn’t take on the position of salesman of knowledge, they take on the position of repository of knowledge. The best teachers are not only repository of knowledge, but they’re so passionate about it that they sell you on how amazing it is to know this stuff. They have taught the ability to self-teach for life’ ‘The limits of my words are the limits of my world’ ’People are how we treat them’ Limiting beliefs are learned through their environment. ‘If you only ever measure yourself with a short ruler, you’ll never measure up’ ‘The Wright Brothers never read the published papers on flight being impossible’ ‘For everything that happens, get something out of it. You have to. Or what else? There’s just so much crap otherwise’ ‘Once you get core competency, do everything you can to lock yourself into a situation that demands it of you and you’ll get better at it much faster. ‘If you want a job as a programmer for example, build core competency then find a job’ ‘Say yes’ ‘Don’t rely on willpower, lock yourself in’ ‘If you’re in an environment where the traits you have cause problems, them they’re problems; but if you find a way to put yourself into a job or profession where those things are what’s needed, all of a sudden you’re being rewarded for it’ ‘If you call someone a genius, you are saying that you could never do that. You are divorcing yourself of being similar to them.’ ‘If you spend your whole life looking up, you’ll get a sore neck. It’s not worth it’ Best lesson from How To Win Friends And Influence People: ‘Using someone’s name helps build rapport. A person’s name is the most important sound in their life’ ‘Something weird happens when you start tracking your money and you just have more left over’ ‘Making your start-up look bigger than it is with ‘fake’ employees and email addresses works. (Tim Ferriss wrote about doing this in the Four Hour Work Week too!) ‘Three months is the threshold to develop a new habit’ Show Notes 4:40 The story from the beginning 16:25 Working for Tesla 20:20 The ultimatum 29:10 Meditation 34:50 A powerful explanation on habits 39:15 A Steve Jobs quote leads us deep 47:00 ‘We are not on this earth, we are of this earth’ 52:30 The luckiest people in the world 55:40 How does this deep understanding help you deal with life’s hurdles? 1:15:30 Money and Happiness 1:25:20 Measuring your smartphone usage plus other technology 1:39:10 Boredom is a precursor to creativity and the importance of learning and language 1:47:30 Going through Michael’s Social Media Posts 1:51:35 On limiting beliefs ’People are how we treat them’ 2:01:20 Science 2:04:00 The Big 5 Deciding to go back to uni later in life (24), not because it’s not something intrinsically that everyone has to do, but there was information that I wanted to learn that I couldn’t get on my own. Reading The Singularity Is Near by Ray Kurzweil Choosing to write computer code (because I was afraid of it). This has allowed Michael to become a freelancer Deciding to start a business. Not just to make money or be free, it was also to deal with conflict. I was conflict averse, and I new that if I started a business, I’d end up in a lot of difficult situations. Getting arrested. I learned that I have a tendency to get bored if I am not stimulated and so I need to point that in productive directions. 2:13:05 What are some inner areas that hold you back or have held you back and how have you been able to overcome them? Constant internal criticism 2:19:25 What is your favourite quote? ‘The only constant is change’ ‘For some reason I can’t be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be, and you can’t be what you ought to be until what I am ought to be, and that is the interconnected nature of reality’ – Martin Luther King Jr ‘Somewhere something incredible is waiting to be known’ – Carl Sagan It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with questions longer – Albert Einstein 2:23:40 What are the best books you’ve read and/or resources that you’ve got the most from or would most recommend? The Singularity Is Near by Ray Kurzweil A Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan The Magic Of Reality by Richard Dawkins How To Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie The New Human Rights Movement by Peter Joseph Behave by Dr Robert Sapolsky Waking Up by Sam Harris Bullshit Jobs by David Graeber 2:29:35 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? Back to the Future Trilogy Interstellar Finding Nemo Moon Zeitgeist 2 & 3 Home Chef’s Table Cosmos (both) Anything by Louis Theroux Human 2:31:50 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years? Difficult to tell. In the web programming space, it’s a bit of a mess. Everyone’s adding new stuff all the time and it’s overwhelming. Everyone wants you to use their thing and there’s a million things to do one job. The internet of things to make things smart objects. Every year we add more data that we had in total up to the renaissance 2:34:40 Did you achieve your goals that you set yourself over the last 12 months? Yes and more than I thought which was a first 2:39:00 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? Are there any that you’re willing share with us that we could help by keeping you accountable? Stay consistent and don’t deviate. Keep learning and double my salary. Grow the side business consistently To be at least on track to writing a book on homeless people – To tell their stories to try and humanise them Have a second side business – building and finishing an application 2:41:35 Who are you looking to connect with? 031: How To Get EXACTLY What You Want In Life, Raising Your Financial Thermostat, Building Habits That Serve You & How To Really Manifest with Zac Dixon
iTunes | Stitcher I recently had the pleasure of being introduced to Zac Dixon. He was recommended to me by 4 different people who are all coached by him, most have been on this podcast. And all 4 are doing really well in life, so I was very excited to have this conversation with him. Zac Dixon is a Peak Performance and money Coach. He is the founder of the Millionaire Mindset Academy. He coaches people one on one, runs retreats and has an army of raving fans. If someone needs help with mindset, sales, money and/or marketing, then Zac’s the man for the job. We covered Zac’s teen years, life after school and how he got onto the path of coaching. Then we explored how we can manifest anything into our life and the extraordinary example of how he manifested his partner. Zac spoke about how our subconscious is built from the ages of 0-7 and what that means for how we live our life. So much fascinating and eye opening stuff. There were so many incredible quotes too, such as: ‘Your labels are on with velcro, not superglue, so whoever you think you are now, that’s not you. You’re everything and you’re nothing and you can be anything. You choose.’ You’ll be able to tell early on just why I’m so thrilled to have Zac as a special guest presenter at our next MindAim Conference at the end of August. Without further ado, please enjoy this conversation with Zac Dixon Join us at the next MindAim Conference where many of our Podcast guests present live! CLICK HERE for more information plus free tickets to our next event! My Biggest Take-Aways Ask yourself ‘What do you really want?’ ‘What’s going to make you fulfilled and happy?’ ‘If I could do this every day of my life, what would make me happy?’ Seeing Tony Robbins on stage, Zac realised that was what he wanted to do. He researched what Tony did to get there, and went to work. Zac did 1000 hours of coaching for free before he started asking for money, due to his personal money story Zac once went for a job and was so sure that he was going to get it, that he wasn’t surprised when he did. Setting that intention and manifesting. Work out what you need to go to the next level. Zac to needed to build his relationship money, and to learn how to close. Feel grateful for the bills that we pay, for the services that they’re providing us with We all have a financial thermostat Always have cash in you wallet (don’t spend it, just have it in there) because being around it changes your relationship with money If you don’t give money attention, it’s going to find someone else to bed with Our limiting beliefs around money came from when we were 0-7 years old around our mother and our father Every belief you have right now isn’t yours, it’s been given to you and you can always change it Everyone craved love growing up. Who’s love did you crave growing up, mother or father? Who did you think you had to be to get that love? Everyone goes around living as the star in his or her own movie The biggest insecurity you have right now, no one actually notices and no one actually cares What creates a Diamond? Pressure! If you want to be good at sales, practice being a little more outrageous Left side of the brain is the analytical side. The right side is imagination, it’s the creative faculty Whatever main state you’re in is going to control your life Whatever we say after ‘I AM’ becomes our identity. ‘I am a salesman’ compared to ‘I am a closer’ There are 3 levels of awareness: Intellectual level of understanding, Emotional level of understanding, Changing your identity ‘Your labels are on with velcro, not superglue, so whoever you think you are now, that’s not you. You’re everything and you’re nothing and you can be anything. You choose.’ It’s easier for someone who struggles with money to feel in scarcity than abundance, because our cells, when triggered have been trained that way Do a 30 day challenge of one habit every day and it will transform your life ‘What changes your identity is being aware that you can take off any identity at any time but then also having a routine of an embodied process that you can go into a new identity. That’s the key to it. That can change your life more than anything.’ The metaphysical is faster than the speed of light. The physical world has a time delay compared to the metaphysical Live like your desire has already happened, because this changes your vibrational energy and in 4-6 weeks you’ll start to see seeds being planted in the physical world. Celebrate every outcome, especially the negative (perceived negative, there are no negatives) Men respond more to challenge, women more to validation ‘We chase a rabbit, then once we catch it we give ourselves permission to feel accomplished. Why not feel accomplished now?’ ‘I love the game, not the outcome’ ‘If your energy isn’t in in alignment with your goals, you’re not going to achieve much’ Sit down with a bit of paper and write down what’s the biggest thing holding me back from getting what I want The strongest trees grow in the strongest winds Show Notes 6:25 The story from the start 12:15 When the penny dropped and the journey into coaching 17:20 How to raise your financial thermostat 26:10 A bit of perspective to stop worrying about what others think 34:30 How much does you diet and fitness have to do with your performance? 47:25 How about affirmations, how do we start believing them? 50:45 Manifestation 1:05:50 What powers all of this? 1:07:45 Discussing Zac’s published quotes 1:18:35 Zac’s business 1:19:55 Clearing limiting beliefs 1:21:50 Grounding 1:24:50 The Big 5 Running my first event at 19 years old in Geelong and getting six people there Meeting my partner When I left the last company I was with and the fallout Running my own retreats Knowing from where I have come. Seeing from where I started to where I am now 1:29:05 What are some inner areas that have held you back and how have you been able to overcome them? Asking myself ‘Are you doing the best you can?’ Being very self-critical and comparing himself to others. Overcoming the negative relationship with money. Through meditation and learning, Zac has overcome it 1:36:40 What is your favourite quote? I am unstoppable because I decided I am – Tony Robbins 1:38:15 What are the best books you’ve read and/or resources that you’ve got the most from? Secrets to manifesting by Wayne Dyer The way of the superior man by David Deida Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T Harv Eker 1:40:40 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? The Greatest Showman Two for the money Coach Carter The Metaphysical Secret (YouTube) 1:41:50 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years? For coaching and personal development industry it’s going to be massively overcrowded. Influencers won’t be as powerful. Most coaches won’t make it. Are you worried that it’s getting crowded? Not if you’re good. There’ll be more restrictions in the future, more rules from the government etc 1:43:30 Did you achieve your goals that you set yourself over the last 12 months? Yes. I should have set bigger goals. Even the goals I set I thought were big goals. Note from Zac: Set goals to grow, set goals that you can’t achieve, that are unreachable, so we can go for the moon and get the stars. 1:44:55 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? Are there any that you’re willing share with us that we could help by keeping you accountable? To be very very well known as a coach in Australia. To be the guy to go to and I’m going to be on the news. 1:46:10 Who are you looking to connect with? Anyone out there right now who is wanting to learn the art of either coaching or sales and they want to come into my business and they want to learn and start generating, I have opportunities for anyone that is fully committed in finding a way to master sales or coaching. 1:47:45 Where can our listeners reach you? 030: How To Transform Our Inner World To Reflect A Better Outer World, 20 Years Coaching Experience, Creating Successful Businesses & Exploring Astral Travel with Aymen Fares
iTunes | Stitcher Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to episode 30 of the white pony network podcast. We have another awesome guest who is presenting at the next MindAim Conference. I first had the pleasure of meeting Aymen nearly two years ago thanks to Meet-Up, through forex and then bitcoin randomly enough. We have kept in touch since, as I have been fascinated by Aymen’s successful business experience, and as I grew my inner game I then had a big interest in Aymen’s profound understanding of the metaphysical world, running spiritual.com.au plus being a coach for over 20 years. Aymen has run a property development company, been a trader, a policeman and run several entrepreneurial ventures. His ability to help others has really stood out. The content on his website is testament to that. At one stage Aymen had 6,000+ unique visits per day. Just amazing. We go pretty deep here, but bear with us as Aymen explains many things and answers many of the questions that we often feel that we don’t have the answers to. I personally love this stuff. He is an extraordinary and very successful man with a profound understanding of life, who we can definitely learn a thing or two from! So please enjoy this episode with Aymen Fares Join us at the next MindAim Conference where many of our Podcast guests present live! CLICK HERE for more information plus free tickets to our next event! My Biggest Take-Aways Through physical activity we can train our mind just through doing what is incredibly difficult or annoying. Everybody has a money ceiling, which is an emotional link to money How do we change our money ceiling or financial thermostat – Identify emotions in your body, locate them and physically remove them If we confront a fear, it goes away very quickly. What better way of conquering a fear than facing it? The bark is always worse than the bite All advertisers need to evoke emotion in you and unfortunately most people don’t understand emotion or how they’re manipulated by emotion and they don’t really have the tools to deal with it. This is why I teach what I teach. My belief is that you are responsible for everything that happens to you Anxiety is really just an extreme form of worry that translates into feelings in your body that can be changed so quickly and easily Depression is living in the past where you get stuck in a particular situation that you can’t see a way out of. It’s like you come to a grinding halt. That is depression. Again that can be changed. People don’t want to change it internally because they have to face up to certain choices in their life. It’s never as bad as it seems, it can be changed. Thoughts, Emotions, Energy Almost all of our thoughts are negative. This is why meditation is important, to slow our thoughts down to catch them and deal with them. We need to understand what we think on a second to second basis until it becomes automatic Try and hold a positive thought for 17 seconds. It’s a great skill to strengthen If you can clear emotion and thought, it leaves open the door to an imprint from another realm, which really is like a sixth sense and that is intuition Intuition only works in that beautiful flow state when you’re not thinking and have no emotions of any type blocking it. A lot of people don’t want to be in a flow state because they want control. The control of thinking yes this is who I am (based on what others have said and limiting beliefs etc across our lifetime) Your actual energetic makeup has already set goals for you whether you know it or not, so you can let go and get into that flow state and allow things to happen to you, allow intuition to kick in. You can do that quite safely, and then as soon as you see what you end up getting, there’s your reflection and then you can make changes from that and get something different the next time. Visualise your goals with the feeling that you think you’ll have when you reach your goal and you can move towards them very quickly Emotions draw up blocked energy from the past. In order to generate an emotion, you need to have too many thoughts that you can’t process properly and it created an emotion which is like an energetic block in your body. Where as a feeling is where you just feel something, and we’re designed to feel our way through life. I meet someone and it feels good or it feels bad. What clouds that is my emotion. Which blocks the true feeling of that situation What in my makeup from last week or last year has lead me done this particular path to make these events appear? Rather than looking at is as one life after another different aspects of the whole are all experiencing everything simultaneously. So when people say ‘I can delve into a past life’ the reason they can do that is not because they’re transcending time, it’s because they’re transcending space. So everything is location based, not time You’d be surprised as to how many dead minutes you have around the place where you can listen to something or read something When it comes to reading, it’s all about the practical application of what you’ve just read Show Notes 4:00 Growing up and an interest in the occult 10:00 Entrepreneurial ventures, personal development and why we go back to our own familiar 19:30 What we can do to train our mind and understand ourselves 27:45 Astral Travel 32:10 Business lessons 35:30 Teaching others, more learning and the criminal justice system 46:00 Anxiety, depression and another deep dive 52:20 Spiritual.com.au 55:55 Exploring Aymen’s content and intuition 1:07:10 Intention and goal setting 1:13:40 A bit more on Astral Travel and more 1:21:30 The Big 5 Joining the police force The first personal development course about taking responsibility or accepting responsibility for my life Getting married and having children Astral travel Understanding why I did the property development 1:23:30 What are some inner areas that tend to hold you back or have held you back and how are you able or have been able to overcome them? Thoughts and emotions have always held me back. Learning how to take control of my thinking process and learning how to remove those stuck emotions have helped the most, which is why I teach it. 1:24:25 What is your favourite quote? Fear is the foundation of all human limitation 1:29:30 What are the best books you’ve read and/or resources that you’ve got the most from? Follow your intuition. Conversations with God by Neil Donald Walsh is an excellent book. Someone may go and get it and say that it’s the most boring book where as someone else may think it’s the best book that they’ve ever read. So use your intuition to select a book and go for it. 1:34:50 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? The 13th Floor Science fiction, comedy Just like the books, go with what feels right 1:35:40 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years? With all of the knowledge that people have, slowly the world will advance, there’s no doubt about it. Mindfulness is now in public awareness. The more people advance both spiritually and in the personal development realm, the better the world will become and the kinder that we’ll be to each other and I see this moving forward little by little every year 1:36:40 Did you achieve your goals that you set yourself over the last 12 months? Nearly 1:38:20 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? Are there any that you’re willing share with us that we could help by keeping you accountable? A flourishing online business and YouTube channel impacting a lot of people. I believe that you retain a lot of energy behind the goal when you don’t share it with others. There is no reason to be held accountable because there is no particular reason to have something done by a particular date unless it’s to earn a certain amount of money, because money and time are interchangeable. It’s like just by talking about it, you could be dissipating the energy that has been built up. 1:47:30 Who are you looking to connect with? 029: Building An International Mentorship Program, Leadership, The Growth Mindset & Family Comes First with Dom & Karina McKenna
iTunes | Stitcher Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to episode 29 of the White Pony Network Podcast. Today we have two very special guests who are presenting at the next MindAim Conference! I had the pleasure of meeting Dom 3 years ago at one of his Entrepreneur Club events and I noticed how much of a great networker he was. He was very switched on and was brilliant at bringing people together and offering great value. I soon also had the pleasure of meeting his wife Karina, and it’s easy to see why this family team does so well. Dom and Karina are leaders of an international mentorship program, direct a marketing agency and are the co-organisers of The Entrepreneur Club in Melbourne. Dom has also co-authored a best-selling book. In this conversation we go through Dom & Karina’s journey, the difficulties we have with breaking away from our own familiar, the business and how Dom & Karina have been able to create a system that ensures lasting development and growth of what they’re building, dealing with challenges, recommended books, amazing quotes and concepts sprinkled throughout as well as plans for the future. These two people are amazing and are always putting others first and offering immense value and as a consequence reaping well earned rewards. So please enjoy this conversation with Dom & Karina McKenna Join us at the next MindAim Conference where many of our Podcast guests present live! CLICK HERE for more information plus free tickets to our next event! My Biggest Take-Aways What’s easy now is hard later. What’s comfortable now is uncomfortable later. What’s uncomfortable now is comfortable later You attract what you are, not what you want. Early on Karina attracted guys who validated all the negative things about her that she believed to be true 1+1 = 11 We redesigned or identify versus just falling into the next thing, which is what a lot of people do Most people when they try to figure out who they are. A lot of the time what you think you are is what other people have told you that you are The path of most resistance is the best path for growth. We avoid struggle when that is often what builds the character DMGB – Doesn’t Matter Get Better No one’s blogging about us online, I am blogging about myself in my mind, so I am my worst critic Who we are vs how we are The only difference between where we are now and where we want to be is a lack of information Don’t pay emotional attention to the reaction, pay it to the event itself Feel it so you can heal it This too shall pass, however if too shall repeat if you don’t change Pain + Reflection = Progress (Ray Dalio) You can only take people as far as you’ve gone before A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still Better people make better business owners 10/80/10 Principle – Top 10: People who give all they have all the time. Majority 80: Reliable, do the job. Bottom 10: Just coasting. The aim is to move as many people from the 80% to the 10% as they can (Urban Mayer) Hard work beats talent when talent won’t work hard Seek to understand rather than to be understood People are never where we want them to be, they’re just where they’re at ‘A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts, therefore they live in a world of illusions’ – Ryan Holiday Most people spend too much time listening to themselves and not enough time talking to themselves Be your own ultimate cheerleader We compare ourselves to things that are not real and this is the thief of joy If you’re going through hell, just keep going. There’s no point coming back Authentic leadership is healing the parts of ourselves so that we can heal others as well Show Notes 3:00 Background of our guests 12:30 Breaking away from the old familiar 31:30 A story of life coaches 43:00 The Business 1:06:00 The Final Questions 1:06:30 The Big 5 Karina Rockbottom was the foundation of which I built my life – JK Rowling Activating my vision Womaning up Leading myself – Realising that I had enough to lead others Leading others Dom An awesome upbringing Re-creating my identity after the rough party patch of life Meeting Karina Earning mentorship Having a daughter 1:20:25 What are some inner areas that tend to hold you back or have held you back and how are you able or have been able to overcome them? Self-sabotage would be the biggest thing. Most people spend too much time listening to themselves and not enough time talking to themselves. Our days would be so much better if we had better self-talk. We compare ourselves to things that are not real and this is the thief of joy. 1:24:55 What is your favourite quote? Do not become weary in doing good deeds, because at a proper time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up – Escalations 6:9 The significant problems we face in life cannot be solved at the level of thinking we were at when we created them – Albert Einstein Dom heard a brutal one the other day: ‘People who have no vision watch television’ Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in five 1:27:15 What are the best books you’ve read and/or resources that you’ve got the most from? The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy How to win Friends and Influence People – Dale Carnegie Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins Ego is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday Above the Line by Urban Meyer The Power of Now – Eckhart Tolle 13 Things That Mentally Strong People Don’t Do The Entrepreneurial Rollercoaster by Darren Hardy Rich Dad Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki Cashflow Quadrant – Robert Kiyosaki 4 Laws of Financial Prosperity 1:31:20 Did you achieve your goals that you set yourself over the last 12 months? We never quite hit them. We’re always pushing further and usually get about 80% of the way there. If we achieve out goals we’re not really stretching ourselves 1:33:15 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? Are there any that you’re willing share with us that we could help by keeping you accountable? Dom is retiring on July 26, 2019 – Retiring any effort for trading time for money in any sort of corporate sense. Dom will get back 64,000 hours over the next 32 years. Dom wants to be at 13% body fat Karina – Doing the best with what I have. Dom with the vision and Karina with the awareness. The team balances very well. 1:37:10 Who are you looking to connect with? 028: The Magic of Real Paw Paw, Building & Running a Dramatically Expanding Business, Exploring the Innovator’s Creations & Helping Change the World with Darren McArthur
iTunes | Stitcher I had the pleasure of being introduced to Darren McArthur in late 2018 by a friend of mine who was on the search for a product that could help him with red marks on his skin. Nothing he had come across was really working. He then discovered and connected with Darren and Darren’s extraordinary ‘The Real McArthur Paw Paw Products’. After using these products, my friend’s skin became as clear as it has ever been! So he put me straight onto Darren as this man has a product that the world needs to hear about. My fiancé and I now use his products too by the way and they are awesome! We talk about much more than just the paw paw products I might add. We discuss the story of Darren’s Father – Tom McArthur the Paw Paw man. We discuss how Darren went from just a handful of Paw Paw seeds to creating and launching his incredible business, building the team and keeping up with orders as the business dramatically expands, space, building particular purpose sheds, freshwater crayfish, Darren’s unique trial and error process, creating cannabis oil, the creams that can help with arthritis, acne and psoriasis plus some more interesting topics such as the carbon in the air that could power everything, diets, meditation and much more. Darren lives on the Adelaide River, about 1.5 hours south of Darwin, so it’s quite a unique episode in that Darren lives so remote that he called me over Messenger using the wifi at the local post office – hence the background noise. This was a really interesting conversation with a great person, and I look forward to seeing where Darren takes his business. So please enjoy this conversation with Darren McArthur CLICK HERE to see Darren interviewed on Today Tonight Join us at the next MindAim Conference where many of our Podcast guests present live! I love Darren’s ‘Trust the process’ approach Darren has a genuine love for his product and for helping people and he knows his product as well as anyone knows their product Trial & Error is vital The body can heal really fast, you just need to give it the right things Because they don’t use wheat germ oils or anything, the skin take sit in straight away – which my fiancé can attest to Trial & Error can do wonders when combined with curiosity and perseverance Darren has a genuine desire to help people and this is where his creativity and his success stem from\ ‘Nothing really matters, it’s only a concept and a thought that you make important’ Show Notes 3:00 The Northern landscape 5:10 How it all began including stories of The Paw Paw Man 23:05 Getting started and building the team 26:30 The momentum is building 29:50 A conversation about cannabis and how much it can help us 33:00 Expanding into other ventures 39:20 What are the secrets to being so successful with trial & error? 40:30 When do you decide that a project won’t work and move onto something else? 43:40 What are some examples of what your products can help with? 48:10 What’s your take on diets? 55:10 A conversation on Space and humanity 1:00:50 The future 1:02:05 How did you get your first customers? 1:03:45 How do you keep up with everything? 1:05:05 On finding investors 1:08:40 The Big 5 Knowing something works even after everyone says that it can’t Having the Mayor spreading the word and the product Great feedback on facebook 1:13:35 What is your favourite quote? Yes. ‘People can describe it, but once you get there and you can release yourself, that feeling of freedom in unbelievable.’ 1:19:30 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? David Attenborough’s documentary on humans 1:22:00 What do you think of the state of our tap water? Regulate it more. Our tap water is better than bottled water. Our tap water is probably the best in the world, maybe some of the chemicals they use are in excessive amounts. 1:24:40 What are your predictions for your business and industry in the next 5 to 10 years? Aquire land, incorporate aquaculture and grow fish. Regulations may get tighter 1:30:15 Given your premium natural products approach, will it be hard for competitors to keep up? There are some large competitors but Darren’s products are natural and doing it for the right reasons. 1:32:15 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? #025: Our Relationship With Our Thoughts, The Benefits Of Meditation, Overcoming Inner Obstacles, Calibrating Yourself, Finding Purpose & Planning To Win with Leigh Bundy
iTunes | Stitcher Hello ladies & gentlemen and welcome to episode 25 of the White Pony Network Podcast! Today’s episode is a Facebook live conversation that I shot with The Flow Expert Mr Leigh Bundy a couple of weeks back. After interviewing Leigh the first time back in episode 21 in August, we have kept in touch since. I attended Leigh’s Social Identity Experience event in October and took away some fantastic tools to deal with limiting beliefs and different situations. We have had quite a number of conversations since so we thought that it could be beneficial to others if we recorded and shared a conversation. We address many topics including: Our relationship with our thoughts The benefits of meditation Overcoming inner obstacles The quickest way to calibrate yourself or bring yourself back into balance Finding purpose Planning to win & many more Just like the initial interview, this is raw and unedited as it was shot live. CLICK HERE to watch the video of the interview. This audio doesn’t have the intro by the way, it gets straight into it with Leigh speaking about our relationship with our thoughts. The intro is on the video should you wish to see it. Given that this was a balanced conversation rather than the usual interview, I did quite a bit more talking than I otherwise would, sharing a lot of what I have learned in the last year, which was very enjoyable. I always love talking with Leigh and feeling his energy and listening to all his ideas, tools and strategies, and this conversation of course was no exception. Please enjoy this conversation with Leigh Bundy. Want to know what a Roman Emperor thought about? Want to know what a Stoic philosopher thought about? How about Marcus Aurelius who was both! 024: How To Use Instagram To Launch & Grow A Very Successful Business In 2018, Personal Training, Physiotherapy, Mindset, Adding True Value & Changing The World One Person At A Time with Josh & Ben Humphris
iTunes | Stitcher Hello ladies & gentlemen and welcome to episode 24 of the White Pony Network Podcast. I have been reminded several times in the past week of just how fortunate I am, how fortunate we all are to be alive and well. It always brings everything into perspective when people we know pass away. The reason that I bring this up is just so I can reflect upon just how lucky we all are to be here and that for example I can do such things as have conversations with people living their purpose and then share them with you. I truly am grateful for that. Today’s special episode is with two brothers who moved to Melbourne from country New South Wales to start a business. Josh & Ben Humphris moved down separately, Ben working as a physiotherapist whilst Josh was still up north working in earthmoving. Josh knew that he wasn’t meant to be doing that, so he took the leap and moved to Melbourne and started helping people in his area of expertise, personal training. Having been training for the past 10 years and receiving his qualification whilst he finished his job, he was ready to change lives by launching Humphris Health. Sit back and enjoy the story of how Josh acquired his first client, then went on to develop an absolutely amazing Instagram strategy that has exploded the business, during which time brought in Ben with his complementary skillsets and together they’ve rapidly grown the services and levels of expertise as well as dramatically expanded their client base. It is evident that these two genuinely care and always have their clients’ best interests at heart. They are always willing to help anyone who needs it. There are big plans for the future of their business too, which is very exciting. Please enjoy this conversation with Josh & Ben Humphris. Want to know what a Roman Emperor thought about? Want to know what a Stoic philosopher thought about? How about Marcus Aurelius who was both! Grab yourself a FREE copy of ‘Journal Of A Roman Emperor’ NOW! My Biggest Take-Aways A life isn’t fully lived until it has contributed to society in one way, shape or another – Les Brown Josh had a skill that he realised he wanted to teach others Josh didn’t know anyone in Melbourne, his instagram wasn’t set up for this, he had no progress shots and he didn’t have a name, but he had a vision and he went for it “When asked ‘How long have you been a personal trainer?’ I didn’t say ‘Two weeks’, I’d say ‘I have been training for 10 years’” When you oppress something, people rebel. Our nutrition programs reflect this. Weekly accountability with a business coach or even a friend is important. People are more likely to look after you rather than themselves. ‘Do as I say not as I do’ comes to mind Set the bar high as falling short will still see a great achievement. Never stay stagnant as the be the best in the group, move to more advanced groups and continue to grow If you can control the morning and the night, that means that you have greater control over the middle of the day Earlier nights turn into earlier mornings – More hours to utilise, more organised and you’ll feel much better Read books – An author’s whole life is compiled in books. Want to know what they know? Read their books. You’ll also become a better speaker and deeper thinker If you believe that you’re not in control of where you are right now, you cannot be in control of where you want to be. Take responsibility. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink. The boys are focusing on getting people to drink – To do the work to get the results, which is why they have expanded and added a lifecoach to their team and are focussing on mindset. My Biggest Instagram Strategy Take-Aways Use Intsagram direct messaging and be consistent Showing your personality on Instagram is the most important way to build engagement Ben identified that body builders were his ideal target market, and was also able to sponsor them in return for social media advertising as Instagram influencers The best way to measure an Instagram Influencer in their engagement. Ask to see their insights before reaching an agreement. The key is to pull Instagram users down into your content under the picture Show Notes 2:30 Were there signs early of wanting to be an entrepreneur? 4:25 What has happened 12 months before you made the move to Melbourne? 7:20 What was the moment when you knew that you wanted to start the business? 8:55 Offering both personal training and physiotherapy 9:55 The journey to securing your first client 11:55 The amazing Instagram strategy 18:00 Who makes the best Instagram influencer 19:35 The rules on Testimonials 21:35 Are you finding any success in other platforms? 25:25 What are your unique mechanisms 27:00 A point on our emotions holding us back 30:00 How do you both approach goal setting, both for yourselves and for your clients? 35:45 The importance of who we hang around with 37:20 What’s the average week look like for you guys? 40:10 How the boys network 44:00 The future plans 47:00 What are you morning routines? 52:30 The importance of sleep 53:20 The Big 5 Ben: Listening to Gary Vee. Coming into the business with Josh. Working with Marnie the business coach. Josh: A mentor told him that he needed to be the Uber of the personal training world and to disrupt the environment. Reading, especially Jordan Peterson. 58:55 What is your favourite quote? Josh: ‘If you want a result that you’ve never had before, you’ve got to do what you’ve never done before’ Ben: ‘In order to get the things that you’ve never had before, you’ve got to be willing to do the things that you’ve ever had before’ 1:04:30 What are the best books you’ve read and/or resources that you’ve got the most from? Gary Vee Podcast Andy Frisella’s MFCEO Project Tony Robbins Joe Dispenza 12 Rules For Life by Jordan Peterson 1:07:00 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? The Dark Knight Rises 1:08:00 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years? A huge shift towards Gut Health. The importance of Mindset. A move towards the holistic approach and having a team of professionals on board rather than individuals. A shift towards a more holistic natural health and away from the more medical mainstream. 1:10:25 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? Are there any that you’re willing share with us that we could help by keeping you accountable? Acquiring a gym, the next phase of the plan! 1:12:50 Who are you looking to connect with? 023: High Performance Habits, Big Achievements & An Incredible Story: Corporate Success, Start-Ups, Coaching, Martial Arts, AcuEnergetics, Meditation, Publishing & Dr. Suess with John Peitzman
iTunes | Stitcher I first had the pleasure of meeting John Peitzman, also known as JP a couple of months ago through a friend of mine. I left our first conversation thinking wow this guy really knows his stuff. Check out this for a list of credentials and experience: As a youngster, JP played the lead role in The 500 Hats Of Bartholomew Cubbins which was the first release of an authorised show from Dr Suess, which for JP grew into other performing opportunities including other musicals, television and radio. JP then owned and operated martial arts schools (he is a fifth degree black belt head instructor) and ran a record label, writing and releasing songs as a singer songwriter. He was a facilitator for Eckhart Tolle, he is a book publisher, an AcuEnergetics® practitioner and teacher, and was a founding member of a start-up, then after several acquisitions and demonstrated high performance, found himself as an executive at Hewlett Packard. In 2015 JP left the corporate world to focus on helping others through becoming one of only 200 Certified High Performance Coaches through Brendan Burchard’s High Performance Institute, teaches meditation retreats and with his wife Marliesa launched In Balance with Life which offers all the different areas of coaching and related products and services that they have. Plus JP is about to release a book which ties together all of his experience and teachings titled The Build Framework. We cover a lot including how it all began, a discussion about meditation, what people can do if they’re feeling stuck or are feeling down plus the importance of being held accountable. JP coaches me through a High Performance Coaching exercise as well as through his Build Framework. This guy is amazing so get the pen and paper or digital pen and paper ready! Also, JP is offering our listeners a very generous discount on his group coaching! (See below for more information!) Without further ado, please enjoy this conversation with John Peitzman. Ongoing Momentum “OM” Group Coaching (JP’s entree level group coaching program offering): What is Ongoing Momentum? Join the growing community hosted by Certified High Performance Coach John Peitzman (JP) and experience what it feels like to dramatically increase your momentum towards success with more engagement, more joy, more confidence and more enthusiasm! You Don’t Have to Go It Alone! Leverage a Proven Process, Comprehensive Coaching and a Collaborative Community to help you increase your abilities and generate greater momentum in achieving your goals and dreams. *NOTE: JP has created a special “White Pony” coupon code for Ongoing Momentum (OM) that drops the monthly $97AUD to $47AUD (a $50 discount for FOREVER – as long as you stay active). Upon check-out, simply enter “WHITEPONY” in the coupon code field, hit ‘apply’ and the discount will be shown on your screen prior to payment. Click Here My Biggest Take-Aways JP has an extraordinary self-belief. Most of us tend to hold ourselves back, however I can see that JP embraces the challenge and really backs himself and continues to achieve wherever he focuses As a coach, he has walked the walk and continues to walk the walk with both performance and vulnerability By blaming others, we take away our power. When you point a finger there are 3 fingers pointing back at you. When you take responsibility and accountability, it changes everything ‘Accept the present moment as if you had chosen it to be exactly as it is’ If you’re going to argue with the present moment, guess what? You’re going to lose. Because you can argue all you want, it is what it is. Where you live is not your physical location, it’s actually between your ears Most of us get taught to think, we don’t get taught to feel You have to build relationships before you can affectively understand the business We become what we think and we think what we practice Get in the game with some sort of program that resonates with you that can make the difference in a positive way We need to ask ouselves, who is pushing me? So one day we don’t look back and think ‘What if?’ When we are feeling down, the best thing that we can do is focus on helping others. Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, we’re showing up to be there for other people By living from the heart and connecting with people you don’t have the time to go up into the brain to think about your ‘problems’ too much If you are looking to have an engaged life and feel better, the answer is to be of service to others, because it then comes back to you in a magnified way When you tap into the power of now, energy is never an issue because life is the energy With true meditation, you learn it in stillness but practice in movement The mouse runs around the cage looking for an escape, the lion bursts the cage asunder – Rumi (When you go into feeling from the heart, there is no cage because you’re not in the prison of your mind anymore) Sometimes less is more for what you put out there and what you ask for from the universe Don’t hold onto things that bring you down. Negative thoughts can become a self-fulfilling prophecy THE BUILD FRAMEWORK Build Relationships Understand the business Implement Strategies Lead & Inspire Deliver Excellence Show Notes 3:25 An overview of JP’s business 5:20 JP’s journey from the beginning to now 12:20 The Wake of Ambition – JP’s journey 16:40 The significance of the present moment 21:20 The Build Framework 29:50 An example of The Build Framework 35:30 What is the first step that one can take if they feel that they’ve fallen by the wayside or running on autopilot? 37:10 JP performs a Clarity exercise on me 43:15 The importance of having someone to push us 46:30 What do you do if you’re stuck in a rut or feeling down? 49:40 The importance of focussing on others 51:00 Have you always had this energy and this drive? 57:35 How did you start meditating? Plus what it means to JP 103:35 How can meditation benefit one focussing on their business and career? 1:07:05 The Big 5 Build Relationships – JP had his start in business through building relationships and continued to do so all the way through Understand the Business – JP was looking to be beneficial to the company and work himself out of a job Implement Strategies – Finding the perfect mate. JP put ‘Divine Love’ out to the universe. Shortly after when he met his now wife Marliesa, she revealed she had an Arabic tattoo on her wrist that said ‘Divine Love’ Lead & Inspire – Taking on that first lead role in Bartholomew Cubbins. Being identified as a childhood prodigy gave him the tools, techniques and education – skills that JP still uses every day Deliver Excellence – Delivery of both his children. It’s life changing when you see life come into this world 1:14:55 What is your favourite quote? ‘Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail’ – Ralph Waldo Emerson ‘In the perfect warrior the enemy has no place to pitch his sword’ 1:16:40 What are the best books you’ve read and/or resources that you’ve got the most from? The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle High Performance Habits by Brendan Burchard 1:17:40 On being a facilitator for Eckhart Tolle 1:18:20 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? The Power of the Heart 1:20:40 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years? 021: How To Take Control Of Your Life – Break Through Your Lowest Point & Reach Your Highest, Discover Your True Authentic Self & Achieve A State Of Flow with Leigh Bundy
iTunes | Stitcher Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to episode 21 of the White Pony Network Podcast. Plenty has been happening at White Pony HQ with lots to share over the coming months! Today’s very special guest is Leigh Bundy. Leigh is an expert in the performance coaching realm and prefers to call himself a ‘facilitator of change’. I first had the pleasure of meeting Leigh through a friend about 6 months ago, and I’ve been blown away by his drive, enthusiasm, energy and knowledge ever since. Leigh has a fascinating story from highs to the lowest of the lows to fighting his way back to a position where he is changing people’s lives for the better all over the world. Leigh’s amazing creations amongst others are Beastmode International and The Ultimate Flow Experience where he helps people break through whatever’s holding them back to then be in a state of flow to start achieving their true potential. Leigh offers week long Bali retreats, one and two day events, ongoing group and personal coaching and consistently shares valuable free content on his social media channels to make the biggest impact that he can. Plus there are big plans on the horizon that he shares with us too. Leigh’s next event ‘The Social Identity Experience’ is coming up on September 8 & 9, which will be featuring on Janine Allis’s TV show Industry Leaders which air’s on TenPlay. If you’re interested in hearing more about this event or any other events or content that Leigh has to offer please either send me an email on email@example.com or reach out to Leigh. All the places which you can reach him are in the show notes. Leigh is always happy to help anyone who asks and that’s what I really admire about him. We shot this episode whilst simultaneously recording to Facebook Live and therefore did it all in one take, so I’ve left it raw for the full effect. Some of the questions that I asked were questions that I ponder often and I am grateful to Leigh that we could both really open up. This was an absolute pleasure having this conversation with Leigh and I hope that you are able to get as much out of it as I did. So please enjoy this conversation with Leigh Bundy Want to know what a Roman Emperor thought about? Want to know what a Stoic philosopher thought about? How about Marcus Aurelius who was both! Grab yourself a FREE copy of ‘Journal Of A Roman Emperor’ NOW! My Biggest Take-Aways What we teach we master When people used to rest I trained to be my best You need to lose yourself to find yourself Don’t let the conventional school system get in the way of your learning because it’s really good at distracting you Shallow men believe in luck, strong men believe in cause and effect If you’re struggling, get someone who can lead you. Get an expert, get a coach, get a mentor You’re the one who feels the way you feel so you can take responsibility of that and change it You don’t do it for a pat on the back, you di it for yourself, and that gravitates you towards the next path Daily habits are crucial If I wanted to get better at something, I do the habits the standards and routines and think less, use less energy and get greater results. Society uses a lot of energy and gets less results because they’re in auto-pilot Create the lifestyle and your desired outcomes become part of it, don’t create goals that are separate from you. For example people that have scarcity but they want to become millionaires A To-Do list just lists big tasks, a Results Creator has next steps to be executed. Its more specific. This is organised the night before so you can launch into the day in flow Rather than only having one option where emotion goes high and intellect goes low, NLP gave Leigh more options How can I retain more of what I learn? Live it and teach it No one can ever be me It’s all about the speed of implementation – don’t doubt it, just get it out there. Exponential thinking – If you play low, you’re going to be on the ground with the Pigeons. You need to shoot high and soar like the eagles ‘Focus forward then come back’ ‘Be around people who have done what you want to do’ A masculine man wants to be appreciated, a feminine woman wants to be understood If you’re going to open your mouth think where is it going to lead you? VIP – Vessel In Power We need to reverse engineer to get back to our pure state It’s about constant growth, not just having one experience I want what you’ve got. Do you know what it takes to get there? No. You need to be actively doing it whilst being lead by someone who has done it before Show Notes 3:35 Leigh’s journey to date 28:05 From your experience and what you now know, what would help someone who is feeling extremely negative break through that? 32:55 What has accelerated or advanced your progress and learning? 35:55 What are some of the specific tools, areas or concepts that you are encapsulated by and that energise you? 39:10 What does your normal day look like and what are the steps for you to have the best day? 40:20 Leigh’s 7 areas of life: Health, Wealth, Contribution, Family/Team, Self Love/Worth, Passion/Purpose, Spiritual. 44:30 If you could pick one main thing from NLP that you could use immediately, what would it be? 47:40 How can I retain more of what I learn? 50:20 How to smash through level 1 and level 2 of limiting beliefs 55:35 Focus – How does one discover/learn on understand what they’re inspired by or what they need to focus on? 1:00:10 Leigh’s breakthrough that transformed him 1:07:10 Team Beastmode and Beastmode International 1:08:00 A deep dive into masculine and feminine 1:15:00 Why do so many people not know how to communicate? 1:16:25 How should one communicate who finds it difficult communicating? 1:19:25 Who should attend the Bali retreats? 1:24:30 How did the Flow Experience come about? 1:31:40 How do you define Flow? 1:33:00 Who would suit The Flow Experience? 1:34:12 My question about St Kilda Football Club and their current situation. 020: From Down 100k To Worth Millions, Incredible Ways To Grow Staff Output, Overcoming Anxiety With An Inner Transformation & Directing Bossini Kitchens with Peter Wellman
iTunes | Stitcher Hello listeners and welcome to episode 20 of the White Pony Network Podcast! I have been on a huge personal development journey this last year and I will be looking to share with you more and more of what I have learnt and am constantly learning. Our special guest for today’s episode has also been on a massive personal development journey, which has absolutely transformed his life. We dig deep into that in the latter part of our conversation. I first met Peter at high school and I haven’t seen him for years until he reached out to me late last year, and I am so glad that he did as it has been absolutely fantastic connecting with him again. Peter Co-Owns and Directs Bossini Kitchens, a big player in premium custom design kitchens. I went out to their headquarters to record this episode, and it is very impressive. Get a pen ready for when Peter talks about how he gets the most out of his staff, it is truly inspiring. Peter has run a range of businesses over the years and has experienced so many valuable lessons. He once went from 100k down to fight his way back to now being worth millions! Peter has also undertaken a huge personal development journey to overcome Anxiety and take his business and personal life to incredible levels. Peter dropped so many nuggets of wisdom and I have recorded them all in the show notes. This was truly a great experience. Please enjoy this conversation with Peter Wellman. My Biggest Take-Aways So many brilliant nuggets of knowledge, experience and advice! Peter’s growth was all from of a desire to move fast Having an entrepreneurial father certainly helped Peter’s transition into starting his own business Parents are always critical and deep down they just want what’s best for you. When we’re younger, our parents don’t think we know what is best for us Schools need to support entrepreneurship When choosing a business partner, don’t choose someone with the same skillset as you Things happen for a reason. Peter has a great perspective on this. Peter’s initiative to negotiate terms with his boss to be able to free up more time to transition into working for himself was fantastic Peter now calls his goals ‘Desired Outcomes’ (DO’s) The problem of thinking short-term to get funds to live really stunts long-term growth. Peter feels he should have raised funds first for DIY Lab Lessons. Burnt Money. Burnt time. Peter never gave up, and grew and grew and grew Peter owns his mistakes including being willing to pay from his pocket for his own mistakes. Giving comes before receiving. It always comes back to you. Tenfold. Outsource first, then once the volume is there, bring it in house Set the expectation and deliver on that expectation. People are happy to wait if they get exactly what you tell them. If the service ends well, that what the customer remembers – the end result A kitchen isn’t just a kitchen. Holden can’t make Ferraris. What purpose is this kitchen serving for this person? Peter has a vision board that his entire organisation need to be in alignment with. Vision – Mission – Values. What values and beliefs are we going to instil in each of us that will enable us to carry out that mission to achieve that vision? We don’t have team meetings, we have Bossini GYM sessions – Grow Your Mind. Everyone has to bring something to contribute Peter takes his staff to large scale businesses similar to his own to show them what it takes to be at that level, preparing them for the future Lead by example Peter would rather a superstar working in the business and then leaving than having a dud in the business and staying Pills vs a shift in mindset to overcome anxiety? It’s like short term fix vs long term transformation Happiness is not one day, happiness is now Now Peter’s 12 month goal is continued happiness The Pizza Metaphor @ 1:00:00 – If every category of your life was represented by a slice of pizza, your happiness is only the size of the smallest slice. You always have to come back to that. Create balance and grow each category. Knowledge is not power, applied knowledge is power ‘I’m looking at we’re heading rather than at the competition. The horse running on the racetrack has blinkers on for a reason. If it’s looking left and right, it’s not going to win. It has to keep looking forward.’ If you set a specific goal, you will notice what will help you get there along the way Some of the stories from other White Pony Network Podcast guests had a positive impact in Peter’s darkest moments. Even the silent people are still listening and watching Grab yourself a FREE copy of our eBook! The Bitcoin Bible. 10 reasons why we believe Bitcoin could be worth 1 Million in 10 years. Show Notes 3:20 How Peter’s entrepreneurial journey came about 9:25 Peter’s first business and some of the issues with the education system 14:00 The importance of selecting the right business partner and more business lessons 19:00 How Peter transitioned into working for himself 22:15 ‘Desired Outcomes’ instead of ‘Goals’ 24:00 Victorian Kitchen Company and the next ventures 26:15 Bossini Kitchens 35:20 A breakdown of how Bossini works 39:40 What’s the plan for the next couple of years? 40:00 Growing the business internally through the team 45:25 Peter’s personal development journey 55:20 What are some of the major differences between you a year ago and you now? 1:00:00 The Pizza Metaphor 1:05:20 Build It Up 1:07:20 Do you think that your 12-year-old self would be happy with where you are now? 1:08:10 The Big 5 Peter’s family moving to Australia, to go with the flow and make the most of what you have in that moment Leaving Uni. Finally taking control of what I want to do and how I want to do it, not what everyone else expects me to do and how to do it At the age of 22, attended a seminar with a guy named Wilson Lunar and was blown away by new perspectives on responsibility and accountability and how you can take your business to the next level. Applied knowledge is power A car crash about 4 years ago, which is what started the Anxiety. It woke Peter up to eventually overcoming everything internally and changed his life The retreat in Bali – a life-changing event. Took everything up a level. 1:12:00 What is your favourite quote? Train hard to fight easy 1:12:45 What are the best books & blog-posts that you’ve ever read? The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss. This set Peter on his journey to negotiating terms to work from home to allocate more time to his own venture. Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy – Take the biggest task first and just get it out of the way. 1:15:20 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? Peaceful Warrior Wayne Dyer 1:16:25 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years? ‘I’m looking at we’re heading rather than at the competition. The horse running on the racetrack has blinkers on for a reason. If it’s looking left and right, it’s not going to win. It has to keep looking forward.’ There’ll be lot more online innovation for custom retail kitchens. More virtual reality to make adjustments to the plan before the kitchen is built. 1:18:45 Did you achieve your goals that you set yourself over the last 12 months? My goals have changed. What they’ve changed to, yes they have. Peter found a bit of paper from 4-5 years ago with goals on it, and he had completed almost every one. 1:19:30 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? Are there any that you’re willing share with us that we could help by keeping you accountable? The main focus is continued happiness, continued stronger connections with people around me. I’d love to be able to help more people around me. If the team are getting results both in and outside of work, that would be a big thing. Looking to buy another house by January 30, 2019. Get specific! If you set a specific goal, you will notice what will help you get there along the way. 1:25:45 Who are you looking to connect with? Everyone and anyone that has a story. Through Build It Up, Peter wants to connect with people who want an opportunity to tell their story to bring either hope, inspiration or a lesson to anyone else. From a business perspective, business leaders, mindset leaders and anyone pushing themselves. Also anyone who wants a premium kitchen! 1:26:40 Where can our listeners find you? 019: The epitome of the Entrepreneurs’ Hustle: Apparel, 3D Printed Products, Television, Media & Real Estate + the tools and hacks to make it happen! with Sid Umesh
iTunes | Stitcher I first had the pleasure of meeting Sid about 12 years ago. The most memorable moment of us reconnecting was when he called me out of the blue one day with an idea that he had to show me. I said ‘Yeah I’m just at my office’ and he said ‘Great, I’ll be there in 5.’ What he showed me was an incredible invention that he had had designed, manufactured and patented. This is Sid, always inventing and then backing it up by selling it just as hard as he worked to create it. Sid owns several companies including VX Homes, Tavo Media and TuCan. He works damn hard, and has great personal development practices too including meditation, affirmations and a vision board that he refers to daily. 018: How To Become A Leader In Your Industry, Winning Awards and Travelling The World, Nurturing Relationships, Self-Belief and Everything Cloud Accounting with Trent McLaren
iTunes | Stitcher Hello listeners and welcome to the White Pony Network Podcast Episode 18! It’s great to be back and again delivering you some of these fantastic conversations that I am very fortunate to have. This episode is the first episode that I’ve done via technology rather than face-to-face, which was a good experience. Today’s very special guest is Trent McLaren. I first had the pleasure of meeting Trent at the Landmark Forum back in 2010 which was an amazing experience. Trent has since gone on to do some extraordinary things. Trent went from retail to learning all about online payments with Eway to entering the Cloud Accounting space with Intuit and Quickbooks to then taking an amazing opportunity at a start-up in the same space called Practice Ignition. Trent works just as hard on his personal brand, which has lead him to being named Accountants Daily’s Thought Leader Of The Year for 2017 and to exclusive guest speaking roles in Latvia, London and all over Australia. Pay particular attention to how Trent deals with people, and his self-belief in knowing what he’s capable of and then giving it 100% to make it happen. (Show Notes) Please enjoy this conversation with Trent McLaren. Grab yourself a FREE copy of our eBook! The Bitcoin Bible. 10 reasons why we believe Bitcoin could be with 1 Million in 10 years. Click Here to download it now. My Biggest Take-Aways Trent puts his success down to his ability to connect with anyone. It’s all about relationships Do it because you want to do it not because you want to please someone else or meet someone else’s agend How to really connect and work with people and help them achieve what they want to achieve knowing that will allow me to achieve what I want to achieve as well ‘I don’t feel qualified for this role but I know what I’m good at and I know who the customer is and this seemed valuable and an advantage to me at the time’ Whether retail or corporate, it’s all about making other people feel special, because that’s what people remember. It’s important to ensure that they feel important and feel valued Through connecting on social media, Trent recognised that accountants all had the same challenges and the same pain points, and he wanted to write about it Trent earned the title of ‘Accountants Daily – Thought Leader of the Year 2017’ Trent is very comfortable to ask for and go after what he wants. When asked ‘What do you want to get out of your career, your life and what you’re doing?’ Trent replies with: ‘I just want to keep climbing.’ You just don’t know where things will take you. So always give it your best and always have time for everyone who reaches out as you never know where it could lead Work hard where you are and make the most of what you’ve got. You get to control what you can control. If you’re unhappy with something then you’ve got the ability to change it. You’re allowing yourself to suffer in whatever environment that you’re in People want everything now but they’re not necessarily ready for it and not every business is not ready to let you have that experience exposure I moved from corporate to start-up in the first place because corporate wouldn’t allow me to progress through that tree – I couldn’t climb any further, so I just jumped to a new tree that should allow me to climb higher than what I was doing before Just on our Landmark conversation, this was my biggest take away from Landmark: ‘Life is empty and meaningless and we’re meaning making machines. What one thinks of me has nothing to do with me.’ Show Notes 2:30 Our first (and extraordinary) encounter at the Landmark Forum and what we learnt from it 8:35 Life after landmark 12:00 Moving on to getting a ‘real job’: Eway 15:15 An insight into Ecommerce, overcoming illness, smashing sales goals and first experience with Xero 18:20 The journey into Cloud Accounting 22:50 What did it feel like in those moments when offers and opportunities presented themselves 24:00 Taking the leap, applying for a new role and moving to Sydney! 27:10 The importance of how you treat others 29:30 Accountants and social media and a push into blogging and speaking 32:40 Becoming a Key Person of Influence 34:45 Being nominated and then selected as a finalist for an award, having it revoked, then handling the situation so well that it catapults your career 38:15 That blog post that started everything 41:50 What do Accountants actually want? 45:05 The challenges of the Accounting industry 47:15 The Latvia experience 48:40 The Accountants Daily awards the second time round 49:45 The London experience 50:05 The next chapter: Practice Ignition 53:10 Why do you think that everything has worked out the way it has? 59:05 One door closes and another one opens: The Hustle 1:01:10 The importance of networking 1:03:30 What are the biggest differences working in a big company compared with working with a start-up? 1:05:00 The Big 5 Making the decision to really make the most of the opportunity at Eway, even after getting Bell’s Palsy in his first week. ‘I think every jump, every climb of the ladder was really a pivotal time to be honest’ Say ‘Yes’ when there’s no reason to say ‘No’. Any time I’ve jumped a role, climbed a ladder, moved to another opportunity or someone has said ‘Hey do you want to give this a go’ you do the Richard Branson and just say yes and figure it out later. I do that most days still because you get really good at it, it’s like yeah I can do it that’s fine, we’ll figure it out. 1:07:15 What is your favourite quote? ‘Control what you can control’ What can you impact? Then impact it. If you can’t impact it, then shut the hell up and get on with it. 1:08:15 What are the best books & blog-posts that you’ve ever read? The Hard Thing About Hard Things by Ben Horowitz 1:10:05 Best Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries? The Wolf of Wall Street The Founder 1:12:05 What are your predictions for your industry in the next 5 to 10 years?’ Things are going to get more systemised, more automated, things are going to start talking to each other more so. Blockchain will play a huge role in accounting, legal, banking and more. Keep an eye on what’s going on, stay abreast of it all and that’s where the opportunities for innovation lie, as when new tech becomes available that’s your opportunity to pounce and that’s where your million dollar ideas come from. 1:14:50 Did you achieve your goals that you set yourself over the last 12 months? Yes. Trent was constantly on the hunt. He knew what he wanted to achieve and was searching for it until he got it. 1:15:50 What goals have you set yourself over the next 12 months? Are there any that you’re willing share with us that we could help by keeping you accountable? Living and working overseas 1:16:35 Who are you looking to connect with? Accounts, bookkeepers, you’re in or have an impact on the accounting industry, you run conferences and you have people that you need to inspire and educate on accounting influences 01:17:45 How do you structure your presentations? Ensuring that content is always fresh. Trending topics are useful and every year I try and speak on new content. Always pushing it to be original and new rather than rehashed. 01:18:48 Where can people reach you? 017: What up 2018! WPN is BACK. If ‘Level 2’ Personal Development in the usual Self-Help stuff, then what on earth is ‘Level 1’?
iTunes | Stitcher Hello listeners and welcome to the White Pony Network Podcast episode 17, and the first for 2018. Yes it has been quite the hiatus and I apologise for that. Plenty has been happening and there was a bunch of stuff that had to be sorted. It’s nice to be at a point now where I can put some focus back into the podcast. I love the conversations that I have had and recorded so far and I hope to have many more. They will definitely continue this year. They will be less frequent and more diverse, but I will continue to explore ultimately what I want to do. We have a couple of episodes with some awesome guests ready for release shortly. The WPNP motto was ‘Explore what you really want to do’ then ‘It’s time to hustle’ as I explore the people in my networks who have found their purpose, are adding value and therefore generating wealth – so the leaders in their respective fields. I have definitely made some inroads into how I go about finding and also understanding what it is that I ultimately want to do. And no doubt the motto will continue to evolve. I realise that I have been searching externally for not just ideas but also satisfaction for my whole life, as most of us in the western world do. It turns out that everything we already need in terms of how we feel is in fact internal. This has been a key learning on my path to discovering ultimately what I want to do. I’ll elaborate on this shortly. So a snapshot of the last 2 years and what’s to come this year: In 2016 at one time there I was doing 8 different projects. That is absolutely ridiculous. Not recommended. In 2017 the plan was to get more focused. I still took on and continued too many projects. The last two years I was not only doing too much, but I was also doing some things that I didn’t enjoy anywhere near enough. In 2018 I am cutting out projects and stripping it back to what do I ultimately want to do and focus on. I’m still doing some events which are still fun and I’m part of a team mining crypto at our various data centres around Melbourne. I’ve been working for a friend of mine’s start up for a little while now in both business development manager and account manager type roles and it’s been great. First time in my life I’ve ever taken a full time job. Although it won’t be forever, I’m enjoying the different skills that I’m learning, the networks that I’m growing and the steady income means that I can focus more and not have to worry about putting income first all the time. This next part is my biggest key learning to date as I explore what I want to do. What I am about to say isn’t for everyone, it is just for those who are ready. Grab yourself a FREE copy of our eBook! The Bitcoin Bible. 10 reasons why we believe Bitcoin could be with 1 Million in 10 years. Click Here to download it now. Level 1 vs Level 2 Personal Development I now understand that there are 2 different levels of personal development. Level 2 is all that I thought there ever was in that space. When I say Level 2 I am referring to goal setting, affirmations; working on productivity, planning and being organised; reading all the usual self-help books; getting up early and spending the first hour of my day on my most important task; working with To-Do lists; going to seminars and networking events; constantly learning more about how to better my business and productivity skills. All of this is very important, however it is not as important as Level 1. Once we grasp Level 1, then Level 2 comes easy. Level 1 is the fundamental building blocks of who we are. When I say Level 1, I’m talking about understanding our deepest point of being. Level 1 personal development is about understanding why we have these feelings that for example we’re not worthy. Deep seeded beliefs that we’re not good enough. Constantly regretting things from one’s past or constantly being anxious about the events to come in or the unknown of one’s future. Self-sabotage to return to a place where one subconsciously believes that one belongs. To ‘slot in’ to society exactly where our parents did and their parents did, including having the same successes and making the same mistakes. Once I understood that I am not my thoughts, that my conscious being is above my thoughts and that my mind or ego is just one part of me, this really helped change how I felt, and of course changed my thinking. It didn’t change my being, as consciousness can’t be changed, but it helped my mind understand where it stands in all of this. This is a difficult topic to put into words. Basically thoughts are just that – we don’t need to identify with them. As most of our repetitive thoughts are negative, it’s evident that the less we identify with them and the less we make them mean, the better. It’s like when people say enjoy the journey not the destination. To fully grasp that concept, one must be able to surrender to the now and accept that this is how it is right now. And that nothing happens in the past or future, the only time that anything can happen is in the Now, right now. The past is just memories and the future is just anticipation. Even planning for the future is of course done in the Now. A quote that I’d like to explore. ‘Money doesn’t buy you happiness but I’d rather cry in my Ferrari.’ On the surface level, money under around 100k per year will buy you happiness in terms of food, shelter, clothing, health appoints, paying bills, going on holidays etc. Above about 100k won’t make one any happier. Sure, if we’re going to be unhappy, may as well cry in a Ferrari rather than a Daewoo. But why be unhappy at all? If we’re not happy right now, then there’s no use living for a future projection of yourself ‘When I get that (insert whatever dangled carrot you’re thinking about here) then I’ll be happy’. To get to not only owning a Ferrari (or whatever goal it is that you’ve set) and more importantly to hold onto it or stay at that external level ongoing, one must feel worthy of being there. So if one isn’t happy before they get the Ferrari then they’re definitely not going to be happy with it. If anything they’ll be worse, because if the goal is reached from being driven by fear, then the ego hardens. And all of a sudden nothing is good enough. And this rubbish ‘I am better than everyone’ attitude often pursues and then they lose it all. I’ve never owned a Ferrari, but twice in my life my businesses have given me ‘more money that I knew what to do with’ so to speak. That’s not literal at all, that’s just through the eyes and mind of a kid in his early to mid twenties. The ego definitely hardens, and the worries don’t go away – only the under 100k type worries are gone. Sure that part is great, but you could imagine getting to a place like that and thinking ‘Wow everything is actually still the same, except now I think that I have an image to uphold.’ This is a journey, I certainly haven’t reached the point of being happy all the time and being able to pass thoughts and stay present freely all the time, or be able to work from a place of love with clear creativity all the time, but I’m definitely working on it every day. I have learnt why I always took on every project that came up instead of pausing and being selective with my focuses and my time. I was operating and creating from a place of fear and not of love. Fear that I had to get to multimillionaire status or I wouldn’t be happy or worthy plus some other similar thoughts. Executing one’s plan to achieve a set goal through love is the true unity of inner and outer and the epitome of creativity. Our outer world in merely a reflection of our inner world. If our inner world isn’t sorted while we’re trying to create in our outer world, then it’s like building a skyscraper on swampland. My recommendations for anyone interested in exploring their inner self: A great place to start is reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, and downloading and subscribing to the Headspace app. The app has a daily streak – which by the way I believe is important to any app’s success. That was what encouraged me to reach a 249 say streak on Duolingo a little while back. After meditating sporadically for nearly 2 years, I’m nearly 60 days in on a Headspace streak. Now for developing skills in both our inner and outer worlds, there are 3 books that I think everyone should read: As I just mentioned, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. An incredible Level 1 personal development book and the most important book that I’ve ever read. The Barefoot Investor by Scott Pape. So simple and brilliant. Practical advice that works on getting one out of debt, saving and removing money stresses for life. Key Person of Influence by Daniel Priestly. This ovelaps Level 2 personal development and business. This is a step-by-step playbook to becoming the leader in your niche for anything. Whether you want 1000 followers for your side hobby or you want to be known as a leader and expert in your field, this book will step you through it. There are so many books in the Level 1 & Level 2 personal development spaces that are worth reading. One book that looks to almost combine the two (or at least explain Level 1 in a Level 2 way) is Solve For Happy by Mo Gawdat. He was the Chief Business Officer for Google X then learnt to day trade and purchased 2x vintage Rolls Royces but still couldn’t work out why he wasn’t satisfied or happy. Other Level 2 Personal Development books I recommend are Miracle Morning by Had Elrod (everyone should have morning routine and this a great place to start), Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins & The 7 Habits of Highly Effective people by Stephen Covey. What books do you recommend? I’d love to hear. Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org In life and in regards to Level 2, people have the choice of either being the pinball or the machine. They can either bounce around reacting to everything that comes up in front of them, or they can take control and be the machine that chooses to create things that the ball can react to. Are you fundamentally the creator or the consumer? I’m not saying one is better than the other, everyone is in fact both. I’d just rather spend more time being the creator and less time being the consumer. More importantly and in regards to Level 1, are you creating from a place of love or a place of fear? When we strip it back, that’s all there is. I’m really looking forward to releasing these next episodes and I will continue to provide you with content that interests me and that I think will benefit both me and you. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me and thank you as always for listening. This episode is brought to you by our good friends at Tondo Digital. Grab yourself a FREE copy of our eBook!
