Uprooting Covert Sins - Envy
What does envy really mean? Why is this considered a covert sin? Envy is a very close relative to jealousy and can be similar to greed. Envy is the lack of contentment and being jealous of what others have or what others have received. In this episode, we talk about how envy shows up in our daily life. We discuss how it can creep up and we don't even realize that we are already being envious of other people. There is a fine line between envy and using the achievements of others as a benchmark to encourage us to do better in our personal lives. In the previous episode we talked about how greed plays into the rising gas prices so it is fitting to discuss greed as the first covert sin to uproot. We may not know that we are being greedy and there are so many actions we do that may not seem greedy but actually stem from a place of greed. It's important to talk about what greed is so we can answer the question of how to hold it captive. We cannot do anything without God but we talk about practical ways on how to hold greed captive.

Bible Characters - A Deep Dive on Paul's Ministry
We end our Bible characters series with Paul. In the last episode we talked about a background on Paul but on this episode we talk more about his ministry. Paul was persecuting Christians left and right but God changed his life. He ended up writing over half of the New Testament. Through Paul's life and ministry, we can see that Paul loved and understood people more because he knew how broken he was and what God saved him from. Paul is most known for his writings but he was also very famous for his evangelism all over the world. He was teaching and preparing missionaries to spread the word of God. People were inspired by Paul because even when he was in prison, he was writing. He accepted his weaknesses and his flaws because he knows that God is greater that his weaknesses and flaws. Listen in as we talk about Paul's weaknesses as well as the 5 C's that embody Paul's strengths. You will also hear us talk about how to be more like Paul in today's world.

A Background on Paul
We discuss one of the most famous characters of the Bible. He wrote over half of the New Testament. Paul's testimony and the story of his life is so amazing because it shows us that God can really use anyone for his glory. Paul used to be a Pharisee. He was part of the religious council and persecuted Christians after Jesus' death. But God turned his life around. The same intensity he had in persecuting Christians was the same intensity Paul had when he ministered and spread God's word after his conversion. Listen in to learn more about Paul's story. Stephen is one of the most selfless characters in the Bible. He might have been the first martyr after Jesus. He was one of the 7 deacons chosen by the apostles. Although he was young, he was very knowledgeable and active in the ministry. Stephen was willing to be used by God and he was killed because he would not stop talking about God. Even on his last breath, Stephen was selfless and humble. In this episode, Harold Ledda talks about his experience in Saudi Arabia when he was imprisoned for starting a church there. Bible Characters - Phillip the Evangelist
Philip is one of those characters in the Bible who aren't really talked about much but he had such an important role too. He was one of the seven deacons appointed by the first Christian church. He had an administrative role but he ended up becoming an evangelist and ministered to people also. He was very influential in witnessing to a man from Ethiopia that this could have been one of the people who brought Christianity to Africa.Philip had an admin role in the church but he was known for his evangelism. Evangelizing is one our duties. We don't need titles nor do we lack opportunities. We don't have an excuse to NOT spread God's word. Hosea's story is pretty powerful because it is a representation of God's love. Most of the prophets in those days were tasked with being an adviser to the king. However, Hosea was told by God to marry a prostitute, Gomer. Bible Characters - Job
Job has always been a figure of suffering in the Bible. God allowed Job to be tested because God knew that Job was a righteous man and no matter what happened, Job would not leave God. The story of Job gives us perspective that at times we can be like Job but sometimes we can be like his wife or his friends. How are we like Job's wife or his friends? Are we being team players or do we put in our two cents in people's situations right away?The story of Job is very relatable in 2020 and 2021 where we do not know or understand why the world has to go through a pandemic. Is this a test or is it punishment? We may never find out the answer in this lifetime but are we willing to trust that ultimately at the end, God will always be glorified? It is only AFTER we suffer will we understand that the glory is MUCH BETTER than the suffering.

Elijah was one of the most famous and dramatic prophet of his time. In the Old Testament times, prophets were usually advisors to kings. Elijah always proclaimed God's word even though the king at that time didn't want to hear it. He was known for winning against the 400 prophets of the false god Baal by showing that God is the one true God. This was a great victory for Elijah!In this episode we talk about how the enemy attacks after a major victory.
