As meteorologists we spend a lot of time talking about rains and storms but this episode if about the opposite of that-- drought. If you watched the national news this week, you probably heard all about the potential for 'catastrophic' and 'deadly' tornadoes across parts of the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma on Monday, May 20th. The Storm Prediction Center even issued a rare 'high risk' for severe weather...the first one of its kind in over two years.
