#10 - Why Are Therapists So Obsessed With Childhood?
It's a modern cliche featured in at least half of the series I've seen on Netflix lately. Or do therapists also focus on the issues happening now, the issues that made you pick up the phone and book an appointment? In today's episode we cover: Do therapists really focus heavily on childhood? What about childhood is relevant to your adult problems? The major types of parenting and how they affect you as an adult How our blind spots develop and the problems they cause Stuff we missed or didn't have time to talk about can be found in the show notes. #8 - Special: The Milgram Obedience Experiment
After World War 2, American psychologists set out to prove that Americans would never fall for Nazi crap the way Germans did. In our first episode of a special series looking back at landmark experiments, we cover the Milgram obedience to authority experiment. You'll learn: The conditions required for two thirds of people to become murderers How many people it takes to convince you what you're seeing isn't real Why more bystanders actually decreases the odds of anyone helping The factor that dropped obedience from 65% to 10% Find the show notes at ryananswers.com/podcastPlease subscribe and rate us if you enjoy the show! We're back with a new episode every Thursday. Support the show
