One Full Week of Being Keto
I’ve had to overcome and deal with many things in the first week of keto but I feel like tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life. Much like I felt on January 1 of this year in which I killed the month of January but the issue of the diet was still not understood. So I took it upon myself to make the sacrifice now and not later to fully understand what it means to be eating a diet that is most ideal for longevity. Not for some spiritual reason or for some bulking bodybuilding reason but strictly for longevity and this has been one hell of a learning curve for me to climb on top of. It took one week of eating one meal a day and then another week of going through the keto flu and integrating intermittent fasting instead of one meal a day to finally get to this point. It is a bit scary because success has not been fully actualized and a lot of this still remains to be seen. All I have to go off of this working or not is some decent weight loss and the most fit looking body I have ever had so I consider it a success but I want to know if it is sustainable long term and I have a lot of good insight that says it is but now is the time to see.

The Reason I Am Going Keto
It has been quite the journey so far since the beginning of the year. It started with working out and exercising, but after a month of exercising I realized that I wasn’t able to fully see all of my progress from all of the extremely hard work I was putting in to the workouts, so I realized I had to figure out the diet. Then I got hit with some new information pertaining to the most recent longevity research and through that I learned how beneficial fasting was to living a lot longer and being a lot more healthy when you are older in years. So I decided to start fasting and only eating one meal a day and working out on top of that. But the hunger was unreal and I realized that I needed to do something about the hunger because I still knew that fasting had to be a lifetime practice and I needed to figure out how to kill my hunger in order to make fasting as sustainable as possible. So on my YouTube feed I kept seeing intermittent fasting pop up because intermittent fasting is very close to what I was doing, which was one meal a day. I wasn’t too interested in intermittent fasting but what is also tied to intermittent fasting is the Keto diet. So I am dealing with all this hunger and starting to realize how much of a problem the hunger is going to be and I knew that carbs were probably the reason for my hunger but I didn’t know what to do about it. After watching a bunch of keto videos I started to learn that fat, healthy fat that is, actually is extremely good at making you feel full and satiated. I also started to learn that the Keto diet’s main focus is getting in as much fat as possible, with protein being secondary and carbs hardly at all. So after I did a week of fasting, I completely went crazy and dove right back into my old eating habits. During this time I kept wondering if it wasn’t the carbs that I was eating during my one meal a day that were causing a hunger hangover by the next day and making me crave more carbs and essentially processed sugar. So after a weekend of loading up on any carb I could get my hands on and a shit load of candy and desserts, I decided I was going to do the one meal a day thing again today but this time eat only Keto friendly foods. The game completely changed! I made fat bombs tonight, which are pretty much little balls of nothing but fat and realized just how filling pure healthy fat can be. This was a game changer for the fasting. I knew I had to figure out how to fast, because my long life depended upon it, but I had to fast without feeling hungry all the time and I think I have found the answer! This podcast contains so many of my current insights into what I have experienced today. This may be the first time in my life I have found a healthy sustainable way to lose weight and live longer. I will no longer have to spend endless nights and days researching diets and all of that. The key is the fat and that’s why I am so dumbfounded as this is exactly the OPPOSITE of what my schools and conventional wisdom has been teaching me my whole life.

What is the Ideal Diet?
In this episode I talk about my struggles with finding my ideal diet and why it has been so difficult for me to finally see the light on the diet. I also go into how to attack goals and what kind of mindset you must have in order to be successful. The diet has been such a hinderance in my life. We are stuck with the fact that the American Government doesn’t seem to have any valid information on nutrition as most Americans are overweight or dealing with some kind of diet related disease. So you have to figure out for yourself what diet is best. There are so many fad diets and a million books and online articles about diets. I myself have come to the conclusion that carbs are the main reason why there are so many problems with health in America. You can also look up on google if carbs are bad and you will see thousands of pages saying “Yes carbs are bad”. But then you can also look up if carbs are good and you will also see thousands of pages saying “yes carbs are good”. This is a perfect example of how confusing trying to figure out the diet can be. Why doesn’t the government know for sure? Why doesn’t anyone know for sure? Some say get carbs out completely, some say it’s not that big of deal, others say carbs are good and fats are not good. So with all this in mind how in the hell are you supposed to do your own research when both sides have scientifically backed points? I go into all of this and reasons why I think carbs should be at the top of the food pyramid and should be consumed very minimally. My frustration with all of this also comes through pretty hardcore in this podcast as well. I think the main problem is hunger and how carbs make you more hungry the more you eat them. All this is discussed at length within this podcast and I hope you enjoy it and learn something from it!
