What an Idiom
The JabberGuys explore a light-hearted look at many phrases and sayings  we all use to describe various situations, but where did these sayings actually come from?  Some of the origins of these common phrases are hard to believe.IDIOM: “Don’t Throw the Baby Out with the Bathwater”OK… so hygiene wasn’t the strongest trait of the people from the 1500’s.IDIOM: “Cat Got Your Tongue?”Feeding the tongues of liars and blasphemers to cats in ancient Egypt.IDIOM: “Saved by the Bell”Truly a gruesome truth of people being buried alive by accident with a string to ring a bell just in case they awoke underground.  Yikes!IDIOM: “Pleased as Punch”This one is especially disturbing about a puppet named ‘Punch’ who was a wife-beating serial killer, and part of the Punch and Judy puppet show.  Watch the 1950 re-enactment and tell me those kids aren’t traumatized for life.(1950): Re-enactmentChildren’s Song: “Ring Around the Rosie”OK kids, let’s all sing a song that references the horrors of the ‘Black Death.’IDIOM: “To Get One’s Goat”We made reference to the ugliest animal alive, The Damascus Goat… you be the judge.IDIOM: “Running Amok”We thought you would enjoy the clip from A Mad Mad Mad Mad World…IDIOM: “Bee Line”Bees were always thought to have traveled in a straight line..... but...Ote enlightens the JabberGuys on British scientists who studied bees trying to solve the Travelling Salesman Algorithm… and the bee ‘Waggle Dance’ communication.Check out the trivia content on our website.Visit JabberGuys.comStart Your Own Quiz Start using quizzes to engage your customers.
