WHE 041: Got A Business That's Not Bringing In Consistent Income? These 3 Tips Will Solve It!
Are you new in business and still struggling to get some traction? Listen in as I team up with my friend and business associate, Emily Elizabeth, to interview the awesome Auguste Crenshaw who shares 3 strategies that will get you on the right track with your business. In this episode you will learn: What do people in business find the most difficult and why? According to Auguste, what people find the most difficult is to get a traction. And the reason why they can’t attract people is that they don’t realize that they are the unique identifying factor of their business.   What are the keys to success?   Have a clear focus. Without a shadow of a doubt, you need to know what you’re supposed to do. And you have to have the ability to forgive yourself if you have to tweak that plan, but you have to commit to something. Do mindset work. You have to understand that if you want to thrive in the entrepreneur arena, you need to realize that you have to come to terms with who you are. Look at who you are, spiritually, personally, and professionally because they’re all connected. And you have to be intentional about revamping your mind. Respect where you are. Even if that means there’s a lot more trial and error that you can’t prevent from hiring a coach, still you get out there and you stay the course.   What simple things can you do right away to get started?   Take a little bit of time to get clarity and know without a shadow of a doubt what you’re supposed to do. Put a pen to paper and ask yourself these questions: Why do I want to do this? How would I feel if I didn’t do it anymore? Have I been doing this for free all my life and I just didn’t realize it? Pick the platform where it appears that you will get the highest level of traction, and focus on it. Get out there, share your message and your story in uncensored,  girlfriend terminology and people will come to you.   What are some of the challenges that stop people from taking action?   They’re afraid of going live. They’re afraid to show up and tell their story. Why? Because wrapped up inside of your story is other people. People who have hurt you, who didn’t believe in you, who won’t support you, that you’re afraid will judge you. They’re afraid of running out of content. But you have press on and get out there and get noticed, otherwise, you won’t get anything.   Why do you have to repurpose your content? You need people’s attention, and once you have it, you need to say things over and over again to get your message across. You have to keep embedding it in people’s minds and you have to stay on top of their minds so that they know why you’re there. What results can you expect by putting these strategies into practice? It depends because there are a lot of variables that go along with it. But if you can really be consistent, laser-focused, and willing to do the call to actions and do the mindset work and all the things that we’ve talked about in this podcast, you can lock in clients easily and see a significant change in your business within 30 days to six months. WHE 039: 6 Amazing Yet Simple Strategies To Come Up With Content Ideas Or Your Webinar Topic
Have you ever felt like you just hit a roadblock because you ran out of ideas for good content or webinar topic? Well, let me share with you 6 strategies that are super amazing and super easy to come up with ideas that will surely resonate with your audience. So listen in and make sure to give them a try! In this episode you will learn: How to utilize AnswerThePublic.com. All you have to do is enter your keyword and the website is going scour the internet and generate the most asked questions about it for you.   How to do copy mining. Basically, what you do is you go to Amazon.com and look up your industry or your product or anything that is related to your industry that your ideal client would be looking for. Go straight to the reviews, paying particular attention to those that have three stars, and read about what they loved about it or what they thought was missing, and see how you can create your content or your webinar topic around what the reviewers collectively agree is a major pain point. How to leverage Facebook. In the Facebook search bar, type your keyword and look up everything about it that’s in Facebook — posts, people that are talking or asking questions about it, videos, pages, and even groups that you might want to join. Look for what people are asking the most and try to figure out how you can help and serve them. You can make blog posts out of these questions or turn them into your webinar topic. How to do active market research. Look for your ideal client or potential ideal client, get them on the phone, and ask them questions about what it is that they need so that you can serve them. Three questions that you can ask are the following:   Why haven’t you done this solution before? What is your biggest challenge? Would you be willing to pay for a solution that did X, Y, and Z? How to use the Google AdWords Keyword Planner. You need a Google AdWords account to be able to use the Keyword Planner. What it does when you type in your keyword in the search bar is it scours the internet and comes up with all the keywords that people are searching online related to it, and then give you the average monthly searches. What you can do is use these keywords in your title or use it for your content.   How to use YouTube. In YouTube, search for your industry or your topic, and then get a list of the industry leaders that are making videos on that topic. Their videos will give you ideas on what people are resonating with and what people are loving. From there, you can do something similar. Check out these highlights: [01:14] Strategy #1: AnswerThePublic.com [02:27] Strategy #2: Copy mining [03:34] Strategy #3: Facebook [04:22] Strategy #4: Active market research [06:37] Strategy #5: Google AdWords Keyword Planner [09:25] Strategy #6: YouTube Here is a list of resources listed in this episode:   AnswerThePublic.com I Explain and Demonstrate Amazon Review Mining for Copywriting   Aprille Reed’s YouTube Video

Still wondering how you can get your business going even with a tiny list? Now that you know how to leverage a tiny list, this time I’m going to talk about how you can get people to sign up for your webinar even if you have a tiny list or none at all. Enjoy!  In this episode you will learn: You don’t really need a list to get people to your webinar. It’s your webinar that will grow your list.   How you can get people to sign up for your webinar if you have a tiny list or no list at all:   Have a really good topic and a great title that’s result-oriented. Narrow your topic to one quick win. Have a landing page. Prime people to get them interested in your webinar. Put yourself out there   The two ways that you can do your landing page with Leadpages:   It could be something very simple such as a few texts and just a button for them to click so that when they get to the landing page, there’s only one call to action and that is to sign up for the webinar. The landing page could be a little bit longer where at the top, above the fold of the website, there is a way for them to opt-in as soon as they land on the page. But they can scroll down and learn a little bit more about the webinar, and then towards the bottom, there’s another opportunity for them to opt-in so they don’t have to school all the way back up.   You need to prime people to get them interested in your webinar. Write a blog post that is related to your webinar topic, and share the link in all your social media platforms as well as do a Facebook Live to talk about it. You can write it on your website or use the blog post as your landing page in Leadpages.   Check out these highlights: [01:26] How to get people to sign up for your webinar if you have a tiny list or no list at all[01:38] What makes a really good topic[04:46] Narrowing your topic to one quick win[05:53] Why you need a landing page[06:40] A couple of ways that you can do your landing page with Leadpages[08:06] How to prime people to get them interested in your webinar[11:26] The final step Here is a list of resources listed in this episode: WHE 022: 6 Surefire Ways to Create the Best Webinar Title Leadpages MailChimp ConvertKit ClickFunnels Active Campaign Infusionsoft

In this episode you will learn: Why is it a good thing to have a small list? Having a tiny list is actually a good thing at the start because you can absolutely leverage that list. What is one advantage of having a small list over a big one? With a small list, you get to show gratitude and love to each one of the individuals on your list so much more than those who are dealing with a huge list. What is one thing to keep in mind about your list? If you have a list of say, 25, keep in mind that it is more than just a number; they are 25 actual people who want to hear from you. What good will you get from sending personal emails? Sending them a personal email is your opportunity to get to know these people genuinely on a deeper level and get some really good-rating fans that will follow you. It means getting downright personal with the people on your list by sending them down to earth emails to find out what’s going on in their world and what are the things that they are struggling with. Check out these highlights: [02:33] Reason #1: You get to show your love so much more.[04:54] Reason #2: It gives you the opportunity to send a personal email.[06:15] Reason #3: You can personally ask them to share or invite a friend to your newsletter or to your opt-in.

WHE 036: Secrets To Massively Grow Your List With Just One Blog Post
Is there a way to grow your list with just one blog post? Learn the secret and get people to sign up, and build your business! Key Takeaways:   You don’t have to necessarily write a new blog post. If you already have content on your website, go look for the blog post that is the most popular and at the same time relevant to the topic that you’re going to create a webinar around. If you don’t already have content, then write a blog post that will either support or give your audience a taste of what you’re going to be talking about in your webinar. Look up your subheadings on Google or any search engine. Check out the top blog posts on that same topic. Learn what other people are writing or saying about your topic and see how you can improve upon your original blog post. Give your post a visual swag appeal. Create a really good infographic and turn it into an opt-in. Find ways to add swag to your blog post. Add colorful bullet points to make it more convenient for readers. Add graphics such as memes or images of quotes that you can share on Pinterest or Twitter. Share your blog post everywhere! WHE 035: Learn How Mindset Strategies for High Performance Females Will Change Your Business's Bottom Line
How important is mindset when it comes to running your business? Mindset strategist Molly Sapp talks about the mindset for female entrepreneurs and everything you need to know to get started on your business. Key Takeaways:   When it comes to webinars, be specific about what you want. If you’re just starting out and you want to make $10,000, make your webinar as simple and as authentic as possible and get really good in your sales. According to Molly, there are many different variables with what you’re offering that don’t even go into the mindset work. What is your product? How many buyers do you need to have? What kind of people do you want to attract as buyers? Be clear on how you’re going to feel presenting your webinar. How are you going to present yourself? What kind of energy do you want your buyers to feel from you? Get into the specifics of what would make your audience want to do the webinar. If you were in their shoes, what would make you want to watch it and stay through the whole thing? A foundation of your business needs to be created before you do a webinar. Don’t be a one-hit wonder. Build your credibility with a reputation that will give you the ability to go on to make multiples figures. The best question to ask yourself is this: If the money isn’t coming in, there’s a part of me that wants this reality of the money not coming in. Why is that? On the flip side, what’s scary about the money coming in? Make it your number one focus to get in alignment every day at a moment’s notice to be able to sell and make the amount of money that you want. If you focus on that, everything else will fall into place. The type of business structure that you want for your business is probably going to be the exact opposite of what you really need and what’s the best fit for you. Stay open and stay in prayer and meditation to get the download for the business model that works for you. Be aware that you are going to attract things that are going to be hard and challenging. In those challenges, journal how it’s going to push you forward and how it’s going to make you into a better person. When you really believe that, you will make magic happen in your life and in your business. WHE 034: GDPR For Webinars: 3 Ways To Make Sure Your Webinar Optin Is GDPR Compliant
What is the GDPR and how do you make sure that your webinar opt-in is GDPR compliant? If you’re looking to get any information about the GDPR or want to know more about it, then this bonus episode is for you!  Key Takeaways:  What is GDPR? It stands for the General Data Protection Regulation and it’s a new privacy law that was approved by the EU Parliament. Who does the GDPR apply to? It applies to anyone who resides in the EU or anyone who collects personal information from someone who resides in the EU, even if that person were just traveling to the EU at the time when they signed up for your newsletter. How does it affect your business? Although it doesn’t affect your webinars and your email list, it does affect your freebies and your newsletters. Additionally, you need to update your privacy policy to include the GDPR. What are the 3 ways you can get people’s consent? You can get people’s consent by using the checkbox, the double opt-in, and segmenting your email list. What are the 3 things you need to have in place in order to be GDPR compliant? One, you need to get the person’s consent. Two, you can collect only needed information. And three, the person has to have a legitimate interest in what you’re offering. What are the dos and don’ts of using the checkbox? People have to consent to get on your email list by checking the box, but they shouldn’t be required to check it. Furthermore, the box must not be automatically checked, where the person has to uncheck it. Underneath the checkbox, add the privacy policy that most email marketing providers have and add a link to your updated privacy policy that’s GDPR compliant. What are the dos and don’ts of using the double opt-in feature? Have two boxes, one that says YES, they want to be on your email list, and another that says NO, they don’t want to be on your email list. Regardless of whether they click YES or NO, they’re confirming that they do want to be on your webinar. But depending on whether they click YES or NO is going to determine if they actually stay on your email list once the webinar is over. What are the dos and don’ts of segmenting your email list? Segment your list into EU and non-EU subscribers. ConvertKit can segment your list for you and your EU subscribers will be sent an email where they need to confirm if they want to continue receiving emails or newsletters from you. You can then tag these subscribers when they give their consent. Check out these highlights: [07:45] Updating your privacy policy [09:03] 3 ways you can get consent [10:15] How to be GDPR compliant in your webinar opt-in [13:35] The dos and don’ts of using the checkbox [17:27] The dos and don’ts of using the double opt-in feature [20:08] The dos and don’t of segmenting your email list LINKS: Damsel Goes Bare Amy Porterfield's Podcast Episode on GDPR My GDPR Course affiliate link ConvertKit’s GDPR FAQ ConvertKit’s Features + Support for the GDPR ConvertKit’s Compliance with GDPR The Information Commissioner's Office’s Guide to the GDPR My ConvertKit affiliate link

WHE 033: 7 Steps To Make Sure Your Webinar Promo Post Is Scrollproof
How can you create an effective webinar promo post and make sure that people don’t just scroll over it in their news feeds? Make your webinar promo post scrollproof with these 7 simple steps and draw people into your webinar! Key Takeaways:   Use power words in your headline. These are words like “simple”, “easy,” “secrets,” “creative,” “epic.” Scrollproof your post with your headline and your image. It’s what’s going to stop people in their tracks when they are searching their news feeds. Your headline must be attention-grabbing. One way you can do this is by using controversy, like saying the opposite of something that most people think or believe. Another way is by dealing with a pain point that your ideal client wants to resolve.     Have an attention-grabbing image. And whether you decide to use your headline on your image or not, make sure that your image stands out. Use bright colors or a funny cartoon or anything that will grab people’s attention. The goal is to scrollproof your post on social media. Draw your reader in by telling them a quick little story about your post. People love stories and telling this story is crucial because you want to establish that know-like-and-trust factor with your audience. You want to be relatable, and maybe even add a little street cred. Your story doesn’t have to be about you, but it should lead to the problem that you’re trying to solve in your webinar. It could be about your client or a case study or just about anything that is relatable and that leads to your teaching points. Let your audience know who your post is for. Pull out pain points and talk about their fears or where they want to be and let them self-identify with who your ideal audience is in this particular post. A great way to help them self-identify is to talk about the biggest struggle that they want to be solved right now. Give your audience the reason why they should be listening to you. These can be the results that they can expect to get by attending your webinar. State your three teaching points. Break each one down to the transformations that your audience can expect to get by attending your webinar. It doesn’t have to be long and drawn out. It could be just a sentence or a short paragraph for each, but the main idea is to let them know what’s in it for them. Make your offer for people to sign up or register for your webinar. In this section, you may or may not add a testimonial, but you can also add a sentence or two about the results that other people have achieved by doing the strategies that you’re going to be teaching in your webinar.   Make your call to action. A call to action would typically be “Click below to learn more,” or “Click on the link to sign up now,” but Rachel Miller from Moolah has a list called “The Very Bad, No Good WORD LIST” that tend to decrease the reach of posts that use them in social media. You can use that list as a reference to allow your post to reach more people.   Check out these highlights: The 7 steps to an effective webinar promo post [02:08] Come up with a headline. [04:50] Take your headline and put it in an attention-grabbing image. [06:12] Tell a story. [08:01] Make sure to let your audience know who you’re talking to. WHE 032: 12 Ways to Repurpose Your Webinars for More List Building and Sales
What some of the ways that you can repurpose your webinar content in other areas without having to do any extra work? You’re in for a treat because I’m going to share with you not just one or two but a dozen ways that you can do that. Are you ready? Let’s dive in! In this episode you will learn:   Use your webinar in your website either as an opt-in or as a free gift for signing up to your newsletter. Or you can have it readily available on your page where all people have to do is click play to watch it whenever they want to. Turn a transcription of the meat of your webinar into an ebook. There are people out there who love to read and who want to be able to highlight and take notes and scribble, so you can offer the transcription ebook to them as a free gift or an opt-in.   Creating an info product is not that hard, and you can make several out of your webinar. All you have to do is take the content of your webinar and structure it into info products, considering your audience’s preferences, whether they want the video, the audio or simply the text. You can also have the option to sell the different products into a bundle.   Depending on how you structured your webinar to begin with, you can convert it into a video series. Following an overview, your first video will show them what’s possible for them. The second video will show them the first step they need to take to get things going. The third video will be the entire step-by-step process. And the fourth video is where you will present your offer. Schedule a live speaking engagement or a meet-up, and present your webinar there. Or you can give it as a gift if they leave behind their business card or their name and their email. Turn your webinar into a mini-course, which you can later expand into a full course. If you’ve done the webinar, you’ve done most of the work. Use what you already have and give it new life to let your audience learn differently. People put more value on things that are physically printed than just plainly digital so you can use something like Canva to print your webinar slides into a booklet. This way you can offer a physical product that you can mail to your clients or prospective clients.   Take bits and pieces of your webinar and post them on different social media platforms. You can post quotes from your webinar on Instagram and Twitter and use parts of it in a blog or a series of blog posts.   Dissect your webinar and use it as a sequence in your newsletter. Newsletters are usually broadcast but you can also make the first seven or eight emails of your newsletter a sequence so that you are “nurturing” your list every week. Give your webinar as a bonus for your course. You can give it as an MP3 file or a PowerPoint presentation or the video of the webinar itself.   If you have joint venture partner, make your webinar a part of their program. Talk about free advertising! All you have to do is give your webinar to that person because your webinar is going to help their audience in some way. Turn your webinar into a gift for your joint venture partner. It can be your way of thanking them for allowing you to speak to their audience. Check out these highlights: The 12 Ways You Can Repurpose Your Webinar Put your webinar on your website. [01:55] Transcribe the essential parts of your webinar and turn it into an ebook. [03:47] Create an info product out of your webinar. [06:15] Repurpose your webinar into a three-part video series. [08:20] Present your webinar in a live speaking engagement or meet-up. [09:37] Turn your webinar into a mini-course. [10:52] Print out your slides as a booklet. [11:56] Split up your webinar and use it as part of your marketing. [13:20] Give your webinar as a bonus for your course. [17:18] Make your webinar a part of someone else’s program. [17:57] Share your webinar with a joint venture partner as a gift. WHE 031: Your 6 Figure Business Plan Right Here Right Now
Are you ready to make six figures this year? Whether you are a coach or a consultant, if you are a service-based business provider, this episode is for you! I’m going to tell you two strategies to help you get to that six figures, so pay attention and don’t miss out! In this episode you will learn: What is Strategy #1? It is to provide free content that offers a strategy session at the end. Whether it’s a blog post, a podcast, videos on YouTube, a speaking engagement or a webinar, use it to reach out to your warm traffic and invite them to a strategy session at the end. What is the purpose of the strategy session? The strategy session is where you have the conversation to see if your program is a good fit for them.  From there, give them a front door offer, something that’s not a very heavy investment but enough for them to experience your style.   Why should you have both a one-on-one and a group coaching? Figure out the best way that you can support them and offer them either your one-on-one coaching or your group program. There is value in joining a group program, so it would be a good idea to put the one-on-one coaching people in your group program as well. What happens if you sell your coaching on a per session basis? You can’t get to six figures if you are selling your coaching on a per session basis. Have a high ticket or a premium coaching package where people are investing three months, six months, or maybe even a year or two years with you. What is Strategy #2? It is to give them free content that will send them straight to a low ticket offer or your front door offer. Why does this strategy work? Make sure you are giving them some kind of impact with your free content, that small piece that gives them a result. And make sure that your low ticket is going to give them even more value, an even better experience.   Check out these highlights: Strategy #1: Provide free content that offers a strategy session at the end. [03:12] Strategy #2: Give them free content that will send them straight to a low ticket offer or your front door offer. How should you structure your webinar or your Facebook live? Get ready to learn some of my tips and best practices and do it the right way! In this episode you’ll learn:   What the flow or structure of your webinar should be:   Start with a title or a headline that will draw your audience in. Follow that with an introduction, and share a story that will get your audience to come with you on this journey that you’re going to take them when you go into your teaching points. After your teaching points is your summary or recap. And last but not least is your call to action.   Why is the introduction so important? Your introduction lets your audience know why they need to stick around for the rest of the webinar. It’s so important because it’s actually going to build the case for both your webinar topic and your offer at the end. Tips on how to make your introduction: You want to create excitement in your introduction.   Include a ‘Welcome’ segment where you say your hellos and break the ice before the actual webinar starts. Share the webinar topic. And if your title is result-oriented, it should be pretty easy to figure out what your audience is going to discover in the webinar.   Why should you let your audience know who this webinar is for? Think of your webinar like a funnel. At the top are the people you attracted through your blog posts or social media posts and Facebook ads, and as you go through your webinar you should be able to weed out the people who don’t actually need it or the people who are not your ideal client.   You can create a slide or two that say who this webinar is for and describe who your ideal client is. You can also add some engagement with your audience by asking, “Does this sound like you?” and calling out the names of those who respond.   Why should you add a statistic? A statistic can wow your audience or elicit some type of response that will make them want to take action. How many teaching points should you include? Three would be enough. As a matter of fact, for Facebook Live, three teaching points would be fabulous, because people don’t really want to spend 45 minutes to an hour on a Facebook Live. What are some tips on making your teaching points? You want your teaching points to be action-oriented. Use buzz words and easy words and a step-by-step process. What is the current trend for webinars? The current trend is for webinars to be shorter. 30 minutes would be enough to convey everything that your audience needs to learn about that particular topic. Why should you be transparent about the offer you’re going to make at the end? It’s better to be upfront with your audience that you know some of them are going to want to dive deeper into what was taught in the webinar and that you’re going to share with them how they can do that.     Check out these highlights: The title or headline [00:49] The introduction [02:38] The statistic [08:34] The teaching points [11:33]

WHE 028: 3 Biggest Mistakes You're Making That Keeps You From Your Highest Earning Potential
What’s blocking your way from your highest earning potential? Find out in today’s episode as I talk about the wrong tactics that most coaches are prone to use. Listen in and start avoiding these big mistakes! In this episode you’ll learn: Mistake #1: Not teaching a system. This means that if you’re a new coach and you’re not quite sure of your target market or your niche, you may end up stretching yourself too thin. And when you do, you end up being mediocre at all the things you’re trying to teach.   What does it mean to teach a system and why should you do it? Teaching a system is finding that one piece that you teach over and over again, that you become an expert at and that you become known for. And because you teach that one piece over and over again, you become a better coach and a better teacher as well. When you teach a system, it could easily turn into a course or a group program. And if each step in the system leads to a measurable result, you can even see about dividing those steps into their own paid program. As a result, you can earn more. When you teach a system, you will find that promoting a system is so much easier than promoting yourself. And the longer that a client works with you, say in a 6-month system, the better results they’re going to get and the deeper their transformation.   Mistake #2: Depending solely on other people’s Facebook groups. Leveraging other admins’ Facebook groups is a wonderful strategy when you’re testing the waters and trying to figure out your niche. But making this as your long-term strategy would be a mistake because it’s not scalable. Mistake #3: Giving away too much content. Don’t overwhelm your audience with too much detail but be strategic about all the content you’re giving away.   Check out these highlights: Mistake #1: Not teaching a system. [00:59] Mistake #2: Depending solely on other people’s Facebook groups. [06:25] Mistake #3: Giving away too much content. [08:41]

WHE 027: How to Go Full Time in Your Business (My Guest Interview on The Fierce Entrepreneur)
I’m taking a break this week, but the show must go on! This week, I’m airing an interview I did with Cindy Rodriguez of the Fierce Entrepreneur. Here, I talk about going full time in your business. Listen and enjoy! In this episode, you’ll learn: Why is it challenging to have an online business? You can’t just send people to a sales page. There has to be a conversation first. Depending on how good you are at closing your discovery calls, you may need four to 10 discovery calls booked in a week. Aside from that, everyone needs to see your stuff. You may also need to offer free consultations. Why should you niche down? There’s a lot of truth to the saying, “If you’re talking to everyone, you’re talking to no one.” Getting laser-focused on your ideal customers will allow you to zero in on their needs and wants and make your conversation with them so personal that it will seem like you’re talking to just one person. When should you quit your job? Your business should be making a lot more than $30,000 a year, otherwise, you shouldn’t submit that resignation letter just yet. There’s so much you have to do with that money such as taxes and investing it back to your business. If your business’ revenue is only $30,000, you’ll only be pocketing $12,000 to $15,000 of that money. If things don’t go as planned in your business, should you go back to your job? It may be a good idea. When you do that, it doesn’t mean that you’ve given up. It just means that you’re smart enough to recognize that you may have quit your job too soon and that you have to work to support your business. How do you invest wisely in your business? Don’t buy fancy new things and expensive equipment just to compete with well-established businesses. It’s okay to use free stuff, but it would take a long time for you to build your business if you depend on them. Spend a little money to support you and your business. Why should you do webinars? It allows you to extend your reach so you can help more people. WHE 026: 5 Steps to Making Radical Changes in Your Business with Deborah A. Bailey
Are you ready to leap forward and take your business to a whole new level? In this episode, coach and author Deborah A. Bailey will teach you how to change your business for the better. Listen and learn as we discuss the five you need to take to make it happen.   In this episode, you’ll learn:   What are the five steps that we need to take to make radical changes in our businesses? Having a clear vision of what you want. Learning to trust your intuition so you can be led to the things that are right for you. Creativity--thinking outside the box and not coming up with the same solutions all the time. Setting goals -- having an idea of what you want to do and having some time frame around it. Taking action. What is a vision? A vision is what you can picture going forward with regard your business. How important is it to line up your personal and professional goals? It’s particularly important if you’re a solopreneur because you are the business. If you start a business that doesn’t line up with who you are and your values, it’s not going to work. You can be fighting yourself the whole time because what you do doesn’t align with who you are. How important is having a vision for your business and everything else in your life? If you don’t know where you’re heading, you’re just going through the days. A vision will give you an idea of where you’re going.   Why is it a big challenge to trust our intuition? We’re conditioned to listen to others telling us what to do so we’re not so inclined to listen to ourselves.   How can you overcome the sense of overwhelm that comes from having a big goal?  Break the goal down and determine the first step you can take. Start with the most believable step. How can you become creative when making business decisions? Be open to making decisions that maybe you wouldn’t have made before because you’re used to doing things a certain way. Why is it often hard to take action? Taking action involves taking risks. When we want something to happen, we have to put ourselves on the line.   Check out these highlights:   Summary of the five steps [08:27] Lining up your personal and professional goals [12:27] Trusting your intuition [17:11] Deborah’s recommendations on goal setting [21:01] Tips on reinforcing yourself [32:11]   Get in touch with Deborah Bailey: http://dbaileycoach.com/ (Website)   Here is a list of resources listed in this episode:http://dbaileycoach.com/blog/books/book/ (Download a free chapter of Laura’s book, Think Like an Entrepreneur) https://secrets-of-success.teachable.com/ (Deborah’s courses on Teachable.com)

WHE 024: Design Made Easy for Webinars and Marketing Part 1
In this two-part episode, I talk with my personal graphic designer, Laura Patricelli about designing a webinar slide deck that keeps the audience engaged. In part one, we discuss how important good design is for webinar slides and what makes for an appealing slide deck. Listen, learn, and enjoy! In this episode, you’ll learn How important is good design for webinar slide decks? A good slide deck design keeps your audience engaged and interested in what you’re saying. They’re more likely to remember you and what you’re teaching. You’re also more likely to make an impact on your audience. Last but not least, you’ll be seen as a professional. Why should you make sure that you have just enough content on your slide deck? If you have too much content on your slide, people will hop off your webinar and download the slide deck because all the information is there. If you want to keep them on the call, save some of the valuable info for the talk. Why is it important for you to stay consistent with your branding when designing your slides? Your slide deck is another opportunity to convey your brand. Consistency makes your brand recognizable. When you have a recognizable brand, your audience is more apt to remember you. What should do-it-yourselfers keep in mind when designing their slide decks? They should remember the three C’s of promotional design. A design should be creative, compelling, and consistent. The design doesn’t need to be complicated. It only has to look clean and be easy to read. Why should you include images of people in the slides? It gives them an imagery that they can relate to and triggers this “I need that product” or “I need this information” reflex. What should you keep in mind when choosing fonts? A font should be clean, professional, and legible. Why should you have bullet points on your slides? The easier your slides are to skim through, the more compelling they’re going to be to your audience. Make sure there are only three to five bullet points on each slide. Why should you space out your text and photos properly? If your text and photos are butting up against the edges of your slides, they will look amateur to your audience. Keep your text in the middle and space out your photos from the rest of the content by at least 20 pixels.
