March 11 2020 Yesterday a busload of WCI ELLs went to Eastwood for the second annual WRDSB ESL/ELD English Speech Competition. Congratulations to the six WCI participants. The following won the WCI speech competition in their category: Fahad S., Shin-you D., Far-doe-sa A., Ali K. and Ab-dul-ma-jid A. All six represented WCI proudly at Eastwood yesterday. Who are they? Keenan G, Alex L, Ethan W, & Thomas I. On Friday, these four won First Prize in the JRMPC scholarship contest. They now have $6000.00 ,more for school. The competition has been on-going, weekly for over a month and was written in an almost dead, obscure language called Smalltalk. Ask them about it! A fantastic accomplishment. Tori M. won SILVER MEDALS in her 100 and 200 free and her open relay with Chapman, Katherine and Elle. Ian F. took home 2 medals -- a Bronze and a Silver in his Freestyle events and Thomas, Omar, Hugh and Nathan finished 5th in their relay.
