Jesus Is My Legacy
Happy Wednesday Ladies, I am so glad to chat with you today. Today I'm inviting you to join me in our study called " Jesus Is My Legacy" It will be a five-week study on what the Bible says our heritage. The Walking In Joy platform is not a listen only type of podcast, but intended to affirm your faith and that it will be a tool in your life to get you closer to living your life for his glory. We hope you enjoy the episode. This week's references and Bible verses are: "According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire." 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 ESV “Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all the other things will be given to you as well.” Matthew6:33 This episode song of the week is: Seasons Change by United Pursuit www.WalkingInJoy.com

Walking In Joy- Vision
Well Hello there, I hope your week has been great, and I'm so glad to spend this time with you today. Last week I shared my "In between" testimony of some of what had happened with my daughter during my leave of absence and how faithful God was and continues to be in our lives. Last week's "Faith Affirming Steps" call to action was to write down how God has been faithful in your past. So that you are reminded of His faithfulness as you start this year, and as the inevitable frustration or trial occurs, that you will not waver in reminding yourself of His faithfulness. I got a message from a friend who posted it on her refrigerator, in her office and took a picture and put it as her screen saver on her phone so she would be forced to see her list consistently throughout her day.I love that so much!!! If it's your first time listening, then welcome, welcome, welcome! In this episode, we will discuss the vision of the Walking In Joy platform, and the new changes that I pray will bless you. Throughout my time off I had a discerning feeling that the Walking In Joy podcast would change directions, but I was not certain as to where God wanted the direction to shift until about a month ago. I still kept studying and writing. I knew that some of my writing would never be read or make it to the podcast, but it did not matter, I was writing out of obedience. I had attempted on various occasions to start podcasting again, but every time I tried to force it, God would slow me down to show me that He wanted intimacy with me more than anything else. Once again I was faced with the fact that my walk with Christ is truly an intimate process and yes he calls me to share & glorify Him, but if it becomes an obligation in place of intimacy with Him, then I'm only left empty. I don't know if you have felt like this, but it is a matter of what I call "drive through Christianity" your consuming & consuming but there is no connection. Your wake up and do your devotional, you get in the car and listen to Christian radio, you're doing laundry and catching up on podcast interviews, like a dehydrated traveler in the desert trying to gather just a little bit of fresh water to satisfy your spiritual thirst. All of these things are good but at the end of the day are they bringing you closer to Christ? Are they making a lasting transformation in your life or are they entertaining you, inspiring you but not lo

Your Life for His Glory!
Well, Hello sweet friends! I know it's been too long since I last podcast, and I'm sorry that I just disappeared for a few months. It was just one of those seasons that God was asking me to put everything aside and put my life in a state of " Lockdown." It was a high intensity few months where I needed to be exclusive with my family, God and few close friends as God allowed us to pass through a whirlwind of trails. I'm so happy to be back to podcasting and hope you enjoy the following podcast. This week's "Faith Affirming" call to action is to write down how God has been faithful in your past. So that you are reminded of His faithfulness as you start this year, and as the inevitable frustration or trial occurs, that you will not waver in reminding yourself of His faithfulness. Post it is visible places so that you see it throughout your day. This Podcast's song of the week is: "Steady Heart" by Steffany Gretzinger and Amanda Cook. www.WalkingInJoy.com

Through The Eyes of a Lion- Levi Lusko
Well Hello There, Welcome back. I'm so happy to be back, and this episode is the first of our second year in podcasting. I can not think of a better way to launch our new season by featuring Pastor Levi Lusko's new book Through The Eyes of a Lion. For those of you that know me well, you know I'm a huge fan of the Lusko family and their Church; Fresh Life. Most people have a bucket list of exotic destinations; my #1 destination is Montana. Yes, Montana #1, it beats Hawai, Austrailia, even Paris. You see Montana has one of the most amazing wonders of this world, the Lusko family and their church Fresh Life. I thank you for your faithfulness and vulnerability these past years through losing Lenya and want to thank you for the hope and encouragement that your family’s light has shined in my life.I am praying for a continued hedge of protection for your family and believing that this book will bring a revival. OVERVIEW: This book is a manifesto of high-octane living! In Through the Eyes of a Lion, Pastor Levi Lusko shares the eye-opening truth of the power of hope in a world that is often filled with pain, suffering, and loss. He says, “This book isn’t a manual for grieving, but a manifesto for high-octane living, and through it I want you to see that God made you for a purpose. There is a wild and wonderful calling on your life, a microphone in your hands. Jesus wants you to look at the adventure of your life through His eyes, the eyes of a Lion.” LEVI LUSKO: Levi Lusko is the pastor of Fresh Life Church, a multi-site church in Montana, and the founder of Skull Church and the O2 Experience. What Your Loved One In Crisis Wished YOU Knew!
Well Hello there, I hope that you are having an awesome day. If you are new to the podcast, I welcome you if you were here sitting on my couch with me I would offer you a cappuccino or a cold glass of lemonade depending on your mood. I want to take a moment and thank ”God-centered Mom” for the great review on iTunes. Not sure if you know but the two ways that people can find this podcast is by subscribing via iTunes or Stitcher as well as leaving a review on either. The more reviews and subscribers the better chances to get this podcast out to women that are in need of practical and encouraging Christian resources. So reviews are so appreciated. If you are in the middle of a difficult time in your life, or if someone close to you is currently going through a crisis, either a loss of a family member, a health issue, postpartum depression, loss of a home or a job loss.

Words That Bring Life!
Well Hello There, I hope your well today. I am very excited for our time together. This episode came about differently than most. You see my friend Barbara was over a few months ago and commented on my daughters written papers that were on the fridge, and her bedroom. You see I did a Bible study with my daughter on the power of words over a year ago and had made up a five checklist for her to remind her of how to honor God with her words. This five-point checklist has I think helped me as much as it did her. So my friend Barbara and her family have been such a blessing to me, and I found out about a month ago that she and her family are moving to NY in two weeks, and I's so sad about it, but

Fully Engage The Weapon of JOY!
Happy Transformation Thursday! I hope you're well, I apologized in advance I coming out off of a cold and lost my voice a few days, so I don’t sound like my normal self. In today's episode, I’ll be updating you on my “In-between” transformation. If this is your first time listening, I welcome you. I usually feature testimonies from listens as well as openly take suggestions from you to nominate people that you would like me to interview. In the past three months, I have interviewed five different people whose interviews I chose to not use. Yes, it would have been easy just to air them and saved myself the extra work but let me be completely clear. I refuse to become weary in doing good, and I feel humbled by my calling to serve you. I want to grow alongside you, and I consider you, my friends, so I refuse to rent out your valuable time for anyone’s gain. If I ever recommend a book or resource, you better believe that I have read it and honestly recommend it from a place of love as a resource to equipping you in your walk with Christ. So even though some people want their products featured, and they might be great products, I’m not in this to sell t-shirts, self-help programs, jewelry or candles. Nothing wrong with any of this, but it's not what this “Walking In Joy” space is for. So I thank you for your time and assure you that this is a Ministry focused on uplifting Christ’s work in our lives and offering practical advice that mirrors Biblical truth. Your time is valuable, and I appreciate you spending it with me. And now to our previously scheduled episode. I will be completely honest with you this week was tough for me. You see I will never get comfortable with the yell of my husband's voice yelling for me to come quickly, as he holds my unconscious daughter in his arms, as she uncontrollably convulses. I will never grow accustomed to her limbs not regaining movement for the minutes that follow her seizures. Running to get her emergency shot and praying over her as I try to calm her racing heart beat, as she slowly regains consciousness and finally makes eye contact with me. As parents we all have challenges and Epilepsy with my daughter is one of mine. My friend Lori asked me a few months ago “Why do you think God is letting you pass throug

No "Innocent Self-loathing".
Hello There, I hope you're having an amazing day! I am so excited that it’s Transformation Thursday. I received this “In between testimony” email from Lisa a few days ago, and I had to share it. With her permission, I shortened it to be podcast friendly since her original email was eight pages long. Since her daughter is a minor, I also changed her daughters name. I pray that her courage to share her story will encourage every mom listening to evaluate how we speak about ourselves as well as to be intentional about teaching our daughters to see and love themselves as God does.

Capable of Mighty Things.
Hello there, Hope your week is amazing so far! I am so excited to launch a new feature segment to the Walking In Joy Podcast called: "Transformation Thursday," in appreciation of Gods power in our lives. We will recognize one of our listeners who is living out their discipleship in Christ. The origin of this came to me after I released the episode called “Your Testimony” on February 17. After that episode, I was overjoyed with the emails that I received of women that bravely shared their “initial testimonies” and their “in- between testimonies” with me. This episode's Free resource link is HERE! I loved hearing your stories, and it reminded me of Hebrews 10:24 (NIV) “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,” I have prayed about this and have received certainty that while we are here on earth we all need encouragement in this often-traitorous Christian walk. We need to know that we are not alone that many others are suffering too but with Gods grace and strength we can and will persevere. We must have urgency and focus in the midst of this Christian journey. The first Transformation Thursday appreciation award goes to: Kathryn T. from Colorado with her approval I will share a part of her latest email. " Dear Ursula I wanted to write you to let you know how much you have helped me when I thought God had abandoned me. I too have suffered from depression and instead of dealing with it I ended up in a downward spiral of drug abuse and it landed me in court orders rehab. It's been six months since I was discharged, and I know I have a long way to go. I wrote you a few months ago because in rehab I gave my life to Jesus but when I exited I did not have any Christian friends or mentors but I had heard your podcast and thought I would give it a chance and contact you but did not expect to ever hear back. With your help I was able to find a reliable local Christian counselor and w

Lyette Reback's Walking In Joy Story
Well Hello there, in this special episode of Walking In Joy we will have the pleasure to go into the home of Lyette Reback founder of The Believe With Me Ministry. I have, to be honest; I have met hundreds of Christian women in my thirteen years of walking with Christ, and I have only had “The I want to be like her” moment once before. Not because I think that I can raise fifteen children, no God has blessed me and my awesome husband, with our one beautiful daughter, but in Christian character, grit, motherhood and marriage…Yes. Yes, that’s definitely the type of Christian women I want to be some day! Once you listen to our interview, you probably will agree. We talk about raising children, marriage, sex, and much more. For the first time on the Walking In Joy podcast, we also have two additional guests Lyette's oldest daughter Daly Kay and Lyette's assistant Kristine Webb. I hope that when you hear Lyette's story, that you will feel like you are right next to me, shoulder to shoulder on her living room couch. Laughing along with us and soaking in all the valuable golden nuggets of wisdom she has to offer. This episode is full of insight and wisdom that only comes from Lyette and David’s thriving twenty plus year marriage and the voyage of raising their fifteen children. God has moved in and through them through four adoptions, homeschooling and strengthened them to raise

Hello, this is Ursula, and I am thrilled to be with you today. In this episode we will be discussing the future vision of the Walking In Joy podcast as well as inviting you to join us for our new series; where we will be studying what the Bible says about our testimonies as well as giving practical ways to not only write you're own down but share it as a sign of worship, so we truly hope you join us in this voyage and that we can share our testimonies as a legacy to Him. Within these past months I have had the honor of hearing dozens of testimonies from people that have written in or have spoken to in person since the beginning of the Walking In Joy podcast, the mission has and is to inspire and encouraging women to chose to live their God purposed life with focused urgency and passion for Jesus Christ. It has been a true gift to see how so many of you have opened up to share your stories with me, and I hope it will also benefit those listening right now. During this process, I started seeing patterns in how women shared their testimonies. I raised a question, a few months ago on sharing our testimonies, on the freedom we felt as women in the Christian sphere and opened it up to input from the audience to get a better understanding of what insecurities or frustrations held us back from sharing.

Walking In Joy- Still Hope
Walking In Joy- Still Hope I want to thank you deeply for listening to this walking in joy episode. So many of you might have noticed that I took a few weeks off from the podcast and although I kept some contact via twitter and Facebook. I was silent for more than a month, during this time I received incredible encouragement from family and friends. I was extremely surprised, when on numerous occasions listeners that I don’t personally know, felt prompted to reach out and email, tweet or Facebook me words of encouragement at just the needed moment. To me those were sweet examples and reminders through this rough season that God is so real. That even though we don’t see Him, and at times may doubt His presence. He truly cares intimately about us and through the Holy Spirit prompts us believers, with messages of encouragement at just the right time to lift each other towards Him. Reminding us that we are not alone that we are not forgotten. We are each a piece of a beautiful tapestry that is only made perfect when brought together in Him. - Reference made of Pastor Nick Vujicic http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/about-nick/bio/ - Connect to us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Walking-In-Joy-Ursula-McGuire/1394047864189071 - Stay in touch with us on Twitter: @WalkingInJoy1 This Weeks Walking In Joy Song Is; Still Hope by Izzi Ray Direct link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/make-much-of-you/id913018786 This episodes site page: http://www.walkinginjoy.com/podcast---still-hope.html WWW.WALKINGINJOY.COM

Lynette Monroe's Walking In Joy Story
Hi friends, I want to say a special thank you to Lynette Monroe for sharing her amazing story with the Walking In Joy community. For being courageous and letting us see the dark places in her life and the amazing work that God has done in and through her life. I hope you enjoy the podcast interview below is a summary of our conversation. Lynette currently serves as the Regional Director for the Women’s Ministry at Saddleback in San Clemente, California. Lynette has truly blessed my life, and I hope that her story reaches other women that might have similar struggles and brings them comfort and strength in what God is doing in our lives when thing look uncertain and are painful. What was your life like before having a relationship with Jesus? Fortunately I have been blessed with an undeniable faith that Jesus my Lord and Savior died for me so that I may have eternal life. I was blessed at an early age to learn of Jesus and his sacrifice for me. Having grown up in Christian household, I have had faith for as long as I can remember. But having faith and believing is just part of the amazing journey. What kept you apart from Him prior to accepting God into your life?As a little girl I dreamed of what my life would be like. The white picket fence, married to a handsome prince with two babies and a dog! Well I had that dream…. I was married at 19 had a baby and a home by the time I was 21 years old. Shortly thereafter my dream life changed. Three years later, I was divorcing my prince, fighting an ugly custody battle, found myself living in a rundown apartment, and filing for ban

I am sure you can relate with the contestant struggle of trying to get control of toxic thinking that seems to keep playing in your head. Maybe you have tried to think positively pray and your alright for about an hour of your morning before you realize that your kids forgot their lunch, and you have to go back after just arriving at their school. Maybe, your husband is in a bad mood and is short with you and then you react in a not so nice way or in quite resentment play a sequence of "O" so familiar thoughts that are so negative that you end up feeling angry and mad. The accumulation of these thoughts ends up having very dangerous consequences to someone like me that already is venerable to depression. I have to remind myself often that I can not control the chaos, but I do have full control of how I react. God always sees the true condition of my heart at all times but in those frustrating times my family and the world truly see the condition of who I am. I fall have to dust off and have a long way to being the woman that God wants me to be, but I am confident in saying that above all I want to be close to His desires for me and I am on the walking in joy journey. In this episode of Walking In Joy; This is the first of the series on Deuteronomy 6: 1-4 and is going to be divided into different days because I know most listeners are like me, busy women juggling marriage, kids, careers, not to mention keeping up with the home. So dedicating 30min plus a day can sometimes be overwhelming. “Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the Lord your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, that you may fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the Lord God of your fathers has promised you—‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’ ”Deuteronomy 6:1-4 (NKJV) The commandments are given to us a protection in love this is reflected again in the New Testament by Jesus in John 14:20-22 (NKJV)“At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” Ursula's Favorite Song Of The Day is Heaven and Earth by Phil Wickham https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/heaven-earth-expanded-edition/id388244223?uo=4&at=10lv9h Stay in contact and visit our site: www.walkinginjoy.com
