We wrap up the year in movies that was 2016 as we discuss our top 10 films.

This week, we're talking about Tom Ford's Nocturnal Animals, find out if Joe and Charles think this film deserves the critical praise it's receiving or if it's just over-hyped. Also, we're talking Rogue One, what we liked, didn't like, and how it compares to last year's A Force Awakens.

We sat down with Oklahoma Director of Photography Sam Calvin and Film Technician Austin Gill at the deadCENTER film festival to discuss filmmaking in Oklahoma, working on back to back genre films and their opinions on the state of filmmaking in Oklahoma.

John Swab is the writer and co-director of the indie film Let Me Make You A Martyr; a gritty crime film that puts outcast Drew (Sons of Anarchy's Nico Nicotero) at odds with his adopted father (Mark Boone Junior) and hitman Pope (Rock & Roll legend Marylin Manson). He sat down with us to discuss the genesis of the film, finding a collaborator in Cory Asraf, shooting in Tulsa, and landing a mega-rockstar in a controversial role.

A few weeks ago filmmakers from all over the state (and world!) gathered in downtown OKC to celebrate the 2016 DeadCENTER film festival. Every year the film festival features shorts, docs, and feature films from all over including many from Oklahoma filmmakers. I attended the festival, and while I was looking forward to taking in as many films as possible I was very eager to meet and have a conversation with filmmakers who've worked specifically in our great state. Over the course of the festival I sat down with several filmmakers to discuss filming in Oklahoma, the challenges they face with access to crew and equipment as well as the importance of making films that reflect the unique viewpoint and landscape of our great state. We'll be rolling out several mini-episodes over the course of the next few weeks from these interviews. First up (@4:00), in this episode we sat down with Dennis Spielman, the director of the documentary film District Up! (http://www.uncoveringoklahoma.com/DistrictUp/) about his film that focuses on the revitalization of OKC's many entertainment districts.
