Suicide: What We Don't Say!
Suicide is a serious public health problem that takes an enormous toll on families, friends, classmates, co-workers, and communities, as well as on our military personnel and veterans. Uncovering the reason for an individual suicide death is complex and challenging. What we know from research is that 90% of people who die by suicide have a potentially treatable mental disorder at the time of their death—a disorder that often has gone unrecognized and untreated. Join us for a very frank conversation about Suicide. Host Celeste S. Duckworth, with featured guests, LeAnn Hull, Founder/CEO of Andy Hull's Foundation, Brett A. Scudder, President/Chairman at The Suicide Prevention Institute, Roy Hobbs, News Anchor at WRDE News, Tisa Key, Actor/Writer/Filmmaker, and Jacqui Letran, CEO of Teen Confidence Academy, will share their experiences, what they have learned, breaking myths, and how they are advocating to prevent this tragic event.
