We are at the end of our Matrix journey and we did our best to try and figure out what exactly all went down in The Matrix Revolutions (00:32)! How will they make a sequel to this fairly definitive conclusion? We will just have to wait and see! Episode 39 - The Matrix Reloaded
We are continuing on with our coverage of all things Matrix with The Matrix Reloaded (00:27)! Will we finally come to terms with the high concept philosophy at play or will we crash and burn? We got into The Grid this week along with our guest, Scott, and we dove into 1982's Tron (00:32), and it's subsequent 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy (22:25)! We take a dip this week into the dystopian cyberpunk future that awaits us by going to the fantastical future world of 2019 with Ridley Scott's 1982 fan-favorite Blade Runner (00:24) as well as Dennis Villeneuve's tour-de-force sequel Blade Runner 2049 (33:05)! Only Aaron & Robert had Leftovers this week; with Aaron doubling back on Goodfellas (01:13:19) and Robert putting the nail in the coffin of the Fast franchise roundup he's been on with Hobbs & Shaw (01:14:56). Aaron was the only one this week who found time to see The Way Back (00:35), but everyone got together to talk the new Disney/Pixar animated blockbuster, Onward (05:16)! It's a not so fantabulous episode this week....we've encountered some recording issues and, try as I might, I've managed to salvage what I can so apologies for the audio stutters. It has been fixed and hopefully won't happen again. But anyways, we sat down to hang out in Gotham and talk Birds of Prey (00:39). For our Leftovers: Aaron visited The Pharmacist (33:53), Mike saw a gaggle of movies like The Mask of Zorro (36:15), Legion (36:56), 007: Goldeneye (38:22), and Silent Hill: Revelations (40:00), James hit up Judge Dredd (43:48) and Heavy Metal (45:49), and Robert began his journey going through all the Fast Universe movies with the The Fast & The Furious (48:22). Episode 21 - The Gentlemen & The Turning
Aaron's back from the fooseball and just in time for us to get together and take a trip across the pond in Guy Ritche's The Gentlemen (00:45). Mike and Robert also hit up yet another attempt lackluster attempt at horror in The Turning (27:08). For our Leftovers: James made it to the one showing of Nicolas Cage's new Lovecraftian-horror movie Color Out of Space (48:30), Mike saw Suburban Sasquatch (57:52), Aaron caught up on season two of Netflix's You (01:00:45) and dug deep for Turbo Kid (01:02:50), and Robert returned to Godzilla: King of the Monsters (01:04:48).
