My mom was a mother on this past Mother's Day so I sat down to talk with her about the movie. I chat with Brandon this episode about how ladies are wooed by untrimmed fingernails and heavy Romanian accents, accepting one's role as the villain, and I get lawyered by Brandon's insight and wit! You can definitely listen to this one with the light's off and the shades drawn to keep that pesky sunlight out of your way.

#73 on AFI's Top 100 Movie Quotes list is "Little Caesar"....no, not the "pizza-pizza" cartoon character on television! I take my ugly mug and fly solo this week for a short and sweet episode.  I hope youse guise enjoy the episode and don't turn out yellow-bellied!

#50 on AFI's Top 100 Movie Quotes list is Apollo 13, directed by Ron Howard. My guest Patrick gives me an out-of-this-world interview filled with great view points and tales from the sky. We discuss the hazards of operating on a shoestring budget, confuse Ed Harris with Ed Helms (the 'Nard Dog in Mission Control), more rants about Bill Paxton, and lastly about how similar Fred Haise and I are (we share the same hometown and both throw up occasionally)!

  #66 on AFI's top 100 movie quotes list is Planet of the Apes.  Moses (Charlton Heston) attends a really weird space camp and winds up partying with monkeys. My dad is an excellent philosopher and added his insights to Unquote this episode. We discussed what it meant to see the film for the first time with social strife and potential political upheaval surrounding the world. My dad's favored quote about a madhouse describes 9 out of the 10 situations he and my mom dealt with raising me and my siblings.   Ace flier Pete "Maverick" Mitchell bros out with Goose and Iceman this week, just in time for Valentine's Day. I digitally conversed with my sister in this episode and we covered Tom Cruise becoming an adult, Kelly McGillis's hair, how important my birth was in dissolving the U.S.S.R. and substitute quotes from the movie that could've made the list.

  I fly solo today, but grab a ballcap, some crackerjack, and your headphones for this week's podcast that touches on nationalism and cultural sentiment. Lou Gehrig was a terrific ballplayer no one would argue, but he stood out among the crowd with his down to earth attitude and humility. Why who said what is my question to answer or, at the very least, entertain answering. This is the premiere episode of "Unquote" and I hope you enjoy listening. This episode: My friend Dan and I discuss why Jar-Jar Binks' dialog didn't rank higher on the list as well why Han Solo was a champ at insincere sincerity. We revert to our younger (relatively) egos to relive the magic of hearing that line for the first time but also to question who could've said something else to replace the line. Ben Kenobi was a major contender as well as the original leather daddy, Darth Vader. Still, there is no denying that, like the Force, the line chosen penetrates and binds us a lot more than we realize.
