A Gardening Conversation
Follow me on Instagram! Today we talked with Heidi, and she had so much to share with you guys! Take a look at the resources she wants you to know about- Dr Vandana Shiva is a force to be reckoned with. Check out everything she has done and is doing here. There is also a documentary being made about her that will be released in 2021, follow for updates. Fish Emulsion is an alternative to compost, get it here at Meijer. Charles Dowding, garden master and “no dig” aficionado, has unlimited tips and support for gardeners. Check out his website, his book No dig Gardening Course One and Gardening Myths and Misconceptions. We also talked today about the devastation that is improperly harvesting peat moss. Consider buying potting mix without it. Here’s a company that sells one. Burpee Seed Company. Coco Coir, or Coconut Coir, is another alternative to peat moss fertilizer or compost, check out what it is, how to use it, and where to buy it here. Here is an organic potting soil that is better than others if you are unable to find one that is “peat free.” Jessica Sowards is a huge inspiration when it comes to all things gardening. Check out the incredible YouTube community she has built! Find Heidi on Facebook or send her an email: firstname.lastname@example.org to let her know what you thought of the episode or if you have any gardening questions for her!

Food Talk: Meal Planning
Follow me on Instagram! Check out Thrive Market for reduced prices on pantry staples! Here’s some of the mentions made in today’s episode- My favorite bloggers for weeknight recipes: Primal Gourmet– Ronny’s cooking style is influenced by several different ethnicities and everything he makes is a hit! I have complete faith in all of his dishes. They add flair and new flavors to your regular dishes and he’ll also inspire to try new dishes. DO IT!! You won’t be sorry. Check out his cookbook, or visit his blog for recipes. The Defined Dish– Alex is hands down, the BEST weeknight dinner blogger I’ve ever come across. Her recipes are quick, easy, and ALWAYS delicious. I use her recipes every week, some of the recipes get repeated pretty often because her food is just THAT good. Her blog has hundreds of recipes, almost all of them perfect for busy weeknights. She also has great “game day” recipes and appetizers. Get her cookbook here! Paleo Running Momma– Michele cooks and bakes! Her dinner recipes are great, but what I really love from her is her baking recipes! All of her recipes are strictly paleo, but you can sub almond flour for traditional flours, which I do often. I like her recipes because they use natural sweeteners like maple syrup, coconut sugar, and honey. Also, she doesn’t compromise texture for flavor, like some “health food” bakers. Visit her blog to explore her repertoire. Her cookbook is all bake recipes, and the book hasn’t collected dust once since I’ve had it. Get yours now!
