Leaving on the Concord (#33)
Due to some personal issues that will become apparent in the near future, Lea and I have decided to wind down our wine tasting podcast.  In this last episode of Uncorked, we are tasting an inexpensive but rather tasty wine.  At $5 a bottle, it's a nice dinner wine that works well with any red sauce meal, such as spaghetti, lasagna, etc.  The sweetness of the wine should prevent most people from consuming the entire bottle in one sitting.  It's definitely a sharing wine, one that should be shared over a nice, quiet meal. On another note, Lea and I would like to thank everyone that has been following us from episode 1 of the Uncorked Podcast.  We've enjoyed each episode and hopefully, we've brought some joy, entertainment and information to those who have listened.  Don't worry; we're not done with podcasting.  We're just moving forward with other ideas and we'll see you all very soon! Miss Blue (#32)
We have a winery here in South Georgia which happens to be right down the road from us.  For this episode, Lea purchased Miss Blue from Horse Creek Winery located in Nashville, Georgia.  One of the first things I've noticed is that the local wines for the Southeastern section of the country seem to be sweeter, which is something I personally like.  What did Lea think about it?  Listen in to find out! Revah Pomegranate Wine (#31)
Wine doesn't always have to be made from grapes.  We've had plum wine.  We've had peach wine.  But pomegranate wine?  Nope - not until now, that is.  Come along with us as Lea and I have our first experience with a wine from Armenia made from pomegranates. Fat Bastard (#30)
We've heard a lot about Shiraz and Lea couldn't resist the label on the bottle of Fat Bastard at Publix.  So this week we're tasting Fat Bastard Shiraz and talking about the things that happened during our busy week.  Come join us for another fine episode of Uncorked - tasting wine and having conversations. Starling Castle (#29)
Though Donovan was still suffering from the Battle of Sandeman from the night before, the southern couple marched onward with their first tasting of a Riesling.  With its almost golden hue, both Lea and Donovan were pleasantly surprised with this wine.  Listen in to learn what changed both of their preconceived notions about their first Riesling tasting. VOGA Italia (#28)
At a little under $11, "VOGA Italia combines the soft alluring flavors of Vento with the structure and breed of Trentino to produce what VOGA feels is the perfect Pinot Grigio".  Honestly, Lea chose the wine for its distinctively shaped bottle, one that has a large screw cap on it that, once removed, also reveals the traditional wine cork.  How does this Pinot Grigio compare to the previous tasting several episodes back?  Listen in to find out! Harveys Bristol Cream Sherry (#27)
At $14, Lea and Donovan taste a Sherry - not the cooking kind (as Donovan kept joking about among other things), but the top shelf (not the highest price, of course) drinkable kind.  Listen in for the couple's thoughts! Taylor Tawny Port (#26)
Having tried two very good but higher priced Port wines, the couple decided to see how the cheaper variety compares.  Lea had a choice between two inexpensive ports, but the marketing machine won out as she chose the bottle that actually provided a story on the back.  What were there thoughts on an $8.00 bottle of Port?  Listen and learn. Wisdemic Dysentary (#24)
Before the show started, Lea asked Donovan to choose from "The Spaniard" and "The Rooster", little nicknames she had given to the bottles of wine that she purchased for the show.  Donovan chose "The Spaniard", which she replied "Good choice!".  Donovan jokingly said, "You would have said that if I had chosen the other one" by which Lea replied, "Yep" and smiled. Listen in as the couple taste the Fonseca Bin 27, only the second Porto that they've tried with Sandeman being the first.  How did this Port compare to the Sandeman?  Lea and Donovan were both pleasantly surprised.  Fill your ear holes with the details from the podcast.
