Finding the Holy in the Ordinary | with Amanda Whiting
“It’s this concept of: it’s not all going to be perfect. And I’m not always going to feel great about it. I also don’t think that’s what God calls us to- I don’t think God is saying, ‘I promise you a life that’s perfect and Instagram-beautiful,’ right? That’s a highlight reel- I think that God is saying, ‘In all things- but especially in those ordinary; or even really hard and painful moments- my holiness is there because I have made you of me. You are my royal priesthood.”So you’ll know our guest a little better, Amanda Whiting is a wife, mom, writer, podcast host, Pastor, and has the prettiest and most inspirational Instagram feed you’ll ever run across. Why Does God Allow Pain and Suffering? | with Bruce Fredrickson
In this episode, I get the privilege to speak with Bruce Fredrickson, who was my childhood Pastor. Bruce is a retired US Army Chaplain, has served also in the Marine Corps, was an Assemblies of God Pastor, and is currently working as a Chaplain in a Cancer Unit. We tackle the age-old, top google-searched question of “Why does God”… allow pain and suffering? This question gets personal as Bruce has been diagnosed with cancer within the last year and a half. We will hear him speak about how God is faithful amidst life’s circumstances. We will be reoriented to a Biblical worldview that provides the groundwork for how we should approach this question as Christians. This conversation came at the most opportune time for me to listen and to take part in; and I’m praying the same over you, as well!

In this episode, we will glean practical tips about how to memorize verses of the Bible. We will also discuss the vast importance of storing up God’s Word in our hearts. Savannah reflects, “The truths in Scripture help remind me that my reality isn’t defined by my feelings. Our reality is told to us in the pages of God’s Word. That has been really important for me to cling to. It is still so easy for me to forget these truths. Even after being a Christian for years and years, it’s so easy to forget. I almost gave up because I couldn’t get them how I wanted them. And then when I gave them to the Lord, He answered my prayer that same day.”Colossians 3:16(NASB):Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.Again, thank you for listening to Unaltered Grace Podcast! We would be so beyond-overjoyed-honored if you’d share this episode with a friend! Also, iTunes Reviews are always beyond-appreciated, as well!In His Unaltered Grace, Rachel
