Hi Guys and gals, Hector here, we wanted to provide an update on the podcast. We are currently looking to re-tool the podcast and any comments or suggestions you have would be great, just send them to comments@typicaldaddy.com. We look forward to any feedback you may have.  In the meantime, I want to share with you my personal journey to awareness, that started here back in March of 2017. Since then, I have released my own podcast focused on sharing my journey to become aware of issues facing parents in this new world of information communications technology. The podcast focuses on sharing the information I have found during my research into becoming a better parent, trying to attain the tools necessary, to coach my girls through this new world.  Today, I am going to share with you a preview of the episode I did on Bullying. Season 2 Episode 9: 13 Reasons Why [Part 1]
[Part 1 of 3] Hanna’s Monologue: Listen Here If you or someone you know are considering suicide, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 they are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This episode contains discussions about suicide and rape and may not be not suitable for all audiences, listener discretion is advised. Over the next 3 episodes we will be discussing, the Netflix series Thirteen Reasons Why which follows the story of Clay Jensen, as he returns home from school to find a mysterious package on his bed. When he opens it, he finds seven cassette tapes. Upon listening to them, he discovers that they were recorded by Hannah Baker (who you just heard in the intro) a girl that he went to school with who recently committed suicide. Her instructions are clear each person who receives the package is one of the reasons why she killed herself and after each person has completed listening to the tapes they must pass the package on to the next person. If anyone decides to break the chain, a separate set of tapes will be released to the public.
