The desert can be a brutal tormentor especially for people who aren't prepared.  The hot sun licking at exposed skin, the dry air sucking its victims dry. Park rangers  find dehydrated hikers rambling around,  incoherent, some barely able to stand. A dedicated brother wanted to fulfill his brothers dying wish which was to be buried.  The problem was that in China, especially in densely populated areas, burials have been forbidden.  Cremation is encouraged instead.  In some instances, a dead persons will is not allowed to be executed without proof of cremation.    In an attempt to get around the "no burial law" the Huang family had no idea that their actions, would lead to the death of another person and that another family would mourn the loss of their son and brother. A young professional cyclist named Moriah "Mo" Wilson is found dead after returning from a night out in Austin, TX.  She was staying there with a friend in order to compete in an upcoming event. Initially police turned to fellow professional cyclist Colin Strickland who Mo had gone out with earlier that night. Police were able to eliminate him  using cameras in the neighborhood and throughout town but that same video footage gave police a big clue. Tracy Nessl began a romantic relationship with her biological uncle, Tim McNamara, in 2012.  To escape the criticism of their relationship, they fled to Belize to start a new life. Lana and Chuck, both 35 years old, disappeared under what her family believes are mysterious circumstances.  They were on a boating vacation in Lake Huron when their boat was found off course, tossing about in rough water with the engine in idle, music still playing on the stereo. The boy was tired, dirty and hungry.  He climbed up the side of the house using the window ledge to boost himself up to the roof.  He’d been to this house before.  His muddy bare feet barely left a mark on the metal roof.  His tracks snaked along the roof line then disappeared near the window that, he knew, had been left unlocked. He quietly slipped inside.  The house was currently unoccupied but he was quiet nonetheless. He crouched listening to the silence just to make sure. When he was reassured that he was alone, he made his way downstairs to the freezer.  Inside, was just what he needed, frozen pizza and ice cream. The thought of food made him smile. He started the oven, placing the pizza inside then showered while it cooked. He started a load of laundry too.  He ate his pizza while watching TV then made sure to clean up afterwards. Feeling warm, clean and satiated he decided he’d sleep here tonight.  It certainly beat sleeping outdoors like he was used to. This hungry boy, named Colton Harris Moore would grow into a 19 year old  felon and "folk hero", who had a penchant for stealing boats and planes.  His final act was stealing an airplane in Bloomington, Indiana and crashing it in the Bahama islands  hours later. While on vacation with his wife and son in Brazil, boxing legend, Arturo "Thunder" Gatti was found dead in his hotel room at the age of 37.  His wife, Amanda reportedly woke up to discover her husband had been strangled but she repeatedly stated to police that she didn't do it.  She was taken into custody because part of her purse had been used a the murder weapon and no one else had access to the room, but could she have done it?   Two weeks later, she would be released and his asphyxiation was ruled a suicide.  However, his family and  boxing fans around the world weren't convinced.  Did he commit murder or was it suicide? On July 22nd, 2019 a Canadian officer was driving around on his normal patrol route when up ahead of him he saw a truck run a red light at an intersection.  The officer quickly flashed his lights and signaled to the trucks driver to pullover.  Inside were two young men who appeared to be in their late teens. They looked nervous and scared. He told them he’d watched them run a red light and that they needed to be more careful. The teens just nodded in agreement and apologized, still frightened.  Wondering why the boys seemed so unnerved, The officer decided to search the boys vehicle, but didn’t find anything suspicious. A pretty, blonde haired, young woman walked into a Caltex gas station in Mitchell, Australia. Natural disasters are always horrible but what is even worse is when opportunistic predators slither out into the open, looking to take from those who are already suffering.
