Gertrude Berg: A Force of Nature

From September 2010: Part 2 of our conversation with Peabody Award-winning filmmaker Aviva Kempner. Aviva's documentary Yoo-Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg brings to light what a dynamic force Gertrude Berg was, while also putting a human face on the tragic circumstances that have overshadowed the history of The Goldbergs (including, most notably, the suicide of Berg's co-star Philip Loeb after he had been blacklisted during the "Red Scare" of the early 1950s) and the legacy of Berg herself.
