Leveling Up
Welcome to Tribe Mastermind with Jordan and Steve. In this episode, Jordan and Steve discuss the Tribe Mastermind Retreat they went to in Denver. They talk about looking at competitor’s numbers and seeing the reality of your numbers against theirs and how motivating that can be. Steve speaks about Darren Hardy’s High-Performance Forum that he attended and some of the key things he learned. Like business is 10% of what you do and marketing is 90 %, and the three keys to success are an expert council, the reference group, and strategies and systems. Although what was being presented wasn’t new, it was presented in a way that made him take notice. With the exponential change, good equals dead in business, great equals survival, and excellent equals thrive. Being great in business means you don’t blame the customer, blame yourself and be fully accountable for improvement, and having empathy for your customers is critical. They discuss being aware that you don’t always make the best right decision. There is someone more competent that can make a different right decision, and having a team behind you that understands that is imperative. You can’t always hire the A-players, but you can hire the best that you can find. The team that got you where you are won’t be the team that keeps you there. This conversation is about learning from others, taking what you learn, and talking it out with your peers. There is always something to learn with Jordan and Steve, and you won’t want to miss any of it. So sit back, relax, plugin, and get ready to be schooled. In This Episode: [00:46] Jordan and Steve discuss the tribe retreat they went to in Denver. [02:13] They speak about the trend of talking about how your business is doing. [03:18] Steve talks about what he learned at Darren Hardy’s High-Performance Forum. [06:06] Business is 10% of what you do, and 90% of marketing was a key takeaway from the forum. [08:25] The conference was impactful because even though it is something they’ve heard before, it was delivered differently. [11:27] You need someone to question your questions and question your answers. [12:42] What will make you the happiest? What would be the most impactful? [16:33] Never blame the customer, be fully accountable to improve. [19:01] What are your sticking points when it comes to signing a leasing contract? [21:35] Having empathy for your customers is critical. [22:15] Three stages of business, growth stage, impact stage, and the legacy stage. [23:28] Jordan and Steve discuss Marcus Sheridan’s Podcast that everyone should listen to. [25:58] There is always a more competent person that can make a different right decision.  [28:17] Good marketing doesn’t talk about your product; it’s all about the emotion. [30:01] Have you ever had someone tell you to pursue the safe option? Did you take the risk? [32:59] Steve and Jordan discuss being parents and whether they should set up a college funds for their children or not. [36:13] The key to higher profits is rarely more clients, its found through more valuable clients. [39:07] Being an entrepreneur is sometimes safer if you can find something that gets you up in the morning. [41:00] Once you hit a baseline and are comfortable, money is no longer motivating, praise and recognition are motivating. Leveraging Joy as a Strategic Multiplier
Welcome to the Profitable Property Management Podcast! I’m your host, Jordan Muela. The Tribe Mastermind Podcast is for the brave-hearted, wild-eyed, ambitious entrepreneur who demands more from work and life. Jordan was feeling under the weather for this episode, so rather than canceling Steve popped in to give some feedback from the most recent Tribe call. The theme of the call was all about how to leverage joy as a strategic multiplier and here are some of Steve’s key takeaways. First off, joy is not created by the actions you take when thinking of yourself. Instead, joy is found when you stop thinking about you and you put others first. Steve shares how this really resonated with him because of how he tends to think about this free time. He’s making a commitment to himself and his family to put them first always in thought and action! Also, learn why being joyful attracts more people to you. When you are operating from a place of joy and excitement, that energy draws others to you, which in turn tends to lead to success. Find and move from a place of happiness and success will typically follow.  These aren’t the only great tips Steve shares but they are some of the most impactful. Listen in to learn how you can exact similar results with less stress and how to recognize competing commitments. Ready to commit to sharing more joy with the world? Leave a comment and let us know the steps you plan to take to operate from a place that lights you up! In This Episode: [00:22] Welcome back Tribe Universe! Jordan was under the weather so Steve is on solo to share his thoughts on Leveraging Joy as a Strategic Multiplier. [02:37] How leadership comes from a place of being in the world. [03:29] Learn why joy is magnetic and draws people and opportunity to you because it comes when you stop thinking about you. [06:54] Hear what’s on Steve’s latest Post-It note to himself. [07:46] Why your relaxed state is not significantly less productive than your hyper-focused state, but so much more joyful. [10:43] How taking a step back from targeted content creates a space for creativity and fun. [11:25] Banish the word “busy” and the phrase, “I don’t have the time.” from your vocabulary. [12:12] Do you have competing commitments stealing your joy?
