Mandie Sherman almost didn't survive her first few days after being born; and once diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, was told that she only had till about age 18 to live. But despite downer statistics, she fights each day to keep living and has made it a goal to out live the steadily increasing life expectancy of CF.  Her life is a series of treatments, hospital stays, pills, and mental exercises [enter: the worry chair] as she proactively takes control of her illness. Brittany was in the prime of her life and was enjoying every minute of it; she loved competing as a DI cross country and track runner, rock climbing, and any adventure she could be a part of. This all changed suddenly and drastically when she fell 80+ feet during a rappelling accident which left her paralyzed from her waist down.  She battled some years of deep despair but ultimately has learned that she is "not her body" and has SO many amazing qualities.  These qualities shine bright as she tells her story of overcoming her horrible accident to continuing on with her life, getting married, and now being a mother to a beautiful baby boy.  Tune in to hear her amazing story and to learn where your true worth lies.

Kim has been told on multiple occasions that she only has a few months to live. Yet she's still here, telling off her doctors, going to Havasupai during chemo, and LIVING her life 4 years after being diagnosed with stage IV cancer. Her battle started on the worst note possible by losing their baby boy when Kim was 18 week pregnant with him. From there she has continued to get hit time and time again with bad news and little hope.  Yet, time and time again she makes the very best out of her situation by, "not thinking about what I can't do; but instead thinking about what I can do." 2017 was a wild ride for David & Nataile - a ride that had too many bumps that any year (or lifetime) should ever have. Well, except for Nataile's baby bump, that was a good one! The rest of the year was filled with job loss, going 2.5 weeks with their brother missing only to find his body in a river, and battling some personal life-long trials. This stuff should only be allowed to happen in the movies! Yet, it was real life for the Swensons. However, as David states, "With darkness comes the light; every single time."
