TORWars Podcast #176: Clones, Rebels, and Wookiee-Sized Changes
Well, fellow TORWarriors, it's time for our little weekly chit-chat, namely, Podcast #176.  In this week's show, we talk about all the latest in the SWTOR universe, including news about Bounty Contract Week, information about the public test server, and most importantly, we discuss the changes that are in store for all of the classes in the upcoming update 2.7. We also share with you the very latest news for Star Wars in general, including the very latest about Star Wars Rebels, some good news for Clone Wars fans, a few things Disney has up its sleeve, and a very sad loss for the Star Wars family. Of course, class updates aren't the only things that are ch-ch-ch-changing in our little corner of the galaxy, and in our last discussion segment, we'll tell you exactly what we mean.  And with that oh-so-cryptic remark, it's time to get on with the show! ~~~ NEWS:Bounty Contract Week is live and kickin'! If you've got characters on the Public Test Server, be prepared to have them wiped with each future update. Eric Musco did another livestream episode on Twitch TV on Friday, February 14th, in which SWTOR was played live!Big class changes are slated for update 2.7, which goes onto the PTS on February 24th.  The specifics for your class can be found below: Sorcerer // SageMarauder // SentinelJuggernaut // GuardianSniper // GunslingerOperative //

TORWars Podcast #175: Stuff, Things, and Whatever!
Hello, fellow galactic citizens, and welcome to the very latest edition of the TORWars podcast!  This is a bit of an odd show for us because, quite frankly, we had to cut out a lot of otherwise newsy tidbits.  Why, you ask?  Well, there's just been a feast of SWTOR news of late, and quite frankly, we don't like doing three-hour long shows.  There's a good reason for this.  One, Deirdre simply wanders away from the mic at roughly the 45 minute mark, leaving me to do the rest of the show by myself.  Have you ever heard me drone on, and on, and on, all by myself?  It's like listening to a lone, pathetic Wookiee during mating season. Believe me, we struggled with this one.  However, faced with this option of having a long (but completely thorough) podcast, your hosts decided to cut things down to a more reasonable size, eliminate some of the news bits we'd normally report on, and keep the show short, punchy, and lively.  Trust us:  it's much, much better this way.  :) ~~~ News: 1.  Update 2.6 is now live, bringing with it all manner of changes to SWTOR. The classes got an update to their abilities (Smuggler and Agents are just loving the change to XS Freighter Flyby and Orbital Strike.  Loving it, I tell you!) Kuat Drive Yards is the new flashpoint that everyone is running Team Deathmatch is live on Galactic Starfighter The Bomber is now terrorizing the skies of GSF 2.  There is a new Double XP Weekend coming up! STARTS: Friday, March 14, 2014, 11AM PDT / 6PM GMT ENDS: Monday, March17, 2014, 12AM PDT / 7AM GMT 3.  A new Community Cantina has been announced, and it's February 28th in Atlanta, Georgia. We’re happy to announce that the next stop in the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Community Cantina Tour will be happening on Friday, February 28th, 2014 in Atlanta! This is your chance to join the Star Wars: The Old Republic community for a development team Q&A as well as complimentary drinks*, food, and giveaways. Every attendee will be receiving a highly coveted Tauntaun Fawn code. Space is limited so be sure to come early. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by and hang out with us! TORWars Podcast #172: Wishlists and the Future!
Hello fellow TORWarriors, and welcome to podcast #171!  It's been a slow couple of weeks for news, so on this week's show, we branch out a bit, do a bit more discussion than we usually do, and cover a wider range of topics.  So without further ado, here are our topics for this week's show! ~~~ NEWS: 1.  It seems that EA Canada is working on an open world, sandbox style Star Wars title.  How do we know this?  Well, it's only hinted at in various job announcements, Tweets, and other errata.  It does seem that EA Canada is hiring for such a game, but will it be Grand Theft Tauntaun: Voss City?  No one actually knows anything at this point. 2.  It's been two years since SWTOR first launched, and the community team got together and posted some very warm "Happy Anniversary" wishes to everyone.  Now, we sort of covered this story before, but because of the soft launch of SWTOR (with early access, etc), the official date was actually December 20th. 3.  Jedi robes are finally being input into the game!  Well...maybe.  Eric Musco has answered this hard-hitting question from fans, with this quote: As requested, here is an update on “traditional” robes being brought into SWTOR. I think the first thing that is important to realize is that traditional can mean different things to different people. Although I know many folks are looking for the “Obi Wan” appearance, we won’t just copy and paste that in. With that being said, we have already brought some armor into the game that is a bit more traditional, such as Relnex set in the Supreme Mogul’s pack. In talking to the Cartel Market team we also have two more “traditional” Jedi armor sets in the works. One you will see in a future pack… and another which will be a direct sale item. You should see both of these within a few Game Updates from now, I don’t have exact timing at this moment. 4.  Jinx SWTOR gear is on sale!  Why?  In fact, it seems this may be a way for them to reduce their SWTOR inventory.  Anyway, this is your big chance to nab that t-shirt you've always wanted for just $14.99. 5.  Our very own CEO and Editor-in-Chief, Deirdre, made a guest appearance on

TORWars Podcast #174: New Bomber, New Class Updates, and A New Live Rakghoul Event!
This past couple of week's certainly been busy ones in the SWTOR universe!  We've had a slew of golden posts by devs/community team members, all containing juicy nuggets of information about developments in everyone's favorite MMO. This kind of information from the community team is certainly welcome. Also, it looks like Update 2.6 will go live on February 4th.  What's in 2.6?  Quite a lot, it seems, and we'll be discussing all of it with you. Of course, by the time you read this, Update 2.5.2 has been alive and well on the servers.  Was this just another maintenance patch, or was there a BIG secret surprise in store for SWTOR players?  Of course, we'll let you know what we think of this latest event/surprise/thingie! ~~~ NEWS 1.  Update 2.5.2 went live on Tuesday, January 14th, and 2.5.2a went live on January 21st.  This really looked to be largely a maintenance update. Of course, on the 21st, everyone was greeted with a somewhat unexpected surprise (well, some spoilers were released by data miners, etc). 2.  Update 2.6 is scheduled to go live on February 4th!  In Update 2.6, there are a number of improvements and updates to the classes, which is certainly welcome. 3.  2.6 will allow players to simultaneously queue for Warzones AND Galactic Starfighter, and will provide a detailed scoreboard for GSF!  The simultaneous queuing is a very significant quality of life improvement for PvPers everywhere. 4.  2.6 will also introduce the bomber to Galactic Starfighter.  We got to see the bomber in action during the beta testing of GSF, and it's on the  live test server now.  It's a nice addition to the game, but the consequences introducing a new spacecraft may be far reaching. 5.  Finally, 2.6 will introduce a new game mode to Galactic Starfighter: Team Deathmatch.  Essentially, Deathmatch will simply track e

TORWars Audio: Live Q&A from the SWTOR Community Cantina!
If you're a Star Wars: The Old Republic fan, you probably already know that the official SWTOR San Francisco Community Cantina was held last night.  As usual, it was a fun event, with free food, lots of free drinks, and some hands-on play time with the next big SWTOR expansion, Galactic Starfighter.  That, in and of itself, has made this a big night in the SWTOR universe, and fans everywhere are giddy with excitement. Of course, there's always more to see and hear from these events.  TORWars' own Deirdre has uploaded the thumb drive assets that the BioWare developers handed out at the event, and our very own correspondent, Marshall Carr, also took a bantha-load of pics while at the event.   Of course, we've got our very own interview with Marshall after the event, in which he gives us his insights, impressions, and overall feel from both Galactic Starfighter itself, and the Cantina overall.  So yes, we've been busy bees here at TORWars.  Busy, Sithy little bees. One of the things that SWTOR fans are sure to be excited about is the Q&A from the Community Cantina.  Sure, just like every other Q&A, some fans ask the same old questions again and again.  And, once again, Master Musco shows his patience.  This time, however, things were a bit different.  Why, you ask?  Because at this event, everyone got to play Galactic Starfighter, and the devs answered specific questions about this formerly super secret space project.  Yes, that's right, fans asked questions about Galactic Starfighter, and the devs gave out some scoop. What, pray tell, did the devs divulge?  Well, you'll have to listen to the audio, above, to get the full skinny.  And, as always, after you're done listening, leave us a comment and let us know what you think.  The show isn't over until we've heard from you!
