Episode Twelve - Shamini Jayanathan

Shamini is someone whose experiences back up her knowledge of how to combat wildlife crime on the African continent, and this is further compounded by the adoption of some of her criminal justice solutions being utilised worldwide. She believes in her way as she has seen it in the field and her detailed discussion with Crista gives us an interesting take on her world, trying to make those accountable for wildlife crimes brought to task. Fundamentally understanding the frustrations shared by the Conservationist bodies, and her sound advice of collaboration and getting the sentence to fit the crime, seems so logical in our world of blanket ruling. The African continent is plagued by human crime of rape, robbery and corruption and it s difficult to get the courts to prioritise pangolins and parrots over the human cases, our sympathies are aligned and it was a pleasure to speak and get under the skin of the efforts Shamini has had in her area of expertise. Inspiring positivity together....Together we make Tofauti.Support the show (https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/donation-web/charity?charityId=1017251&utm_campaign=donatebtn&utm_source=extbtn)
