We review the final season of Endeavour, the British detective drama created by Russell Lewis as a prequel to the Inspector Morse series. Endeavour first aired in 2012 and followed the early career of the eponymous detective in the 1960s, solving fictional crimes around Oxford University. The series has been widely acclaimed for its gripping storylines, strong performances, and attention to period detail. This new sitcom on FOX stars Joel McHale as a cynical, disillusioned, ex-cop turned Animal Control Senior Officer, who gets stuck with a new rookie partner, as they follow up calls to deal with wild animals. The first episode is 22 minutes long, came out Thursday, and is titled "Weasels and Ostriches."  The series relies on several well-known, work place comedy tropes, which we discuss along with the plot and our rating. Though it is undoubtedly one of the most depressing series we've reviewed, Dear Edward deserves your attention as a unique, highly produced, well written story that foreshadows a rewarding conclusion. On this podcast, we discuss the first three episodes from the characters, the themes, and the plot. It's understandable that with so many plane crash series (Manifest, Departure Yellow Jackets, Lost, etc...) that you might dismiss this as one in the same. It's not.
