Disney+ Puts a Disclaimer On The Muppet Show: it's Not Easy Being Green...booked!
Full disclaimer: just prior to our show starting tonight, internet went down throughout much of Los Angeles county and we were forced to do the show over our phones. There are some sound issues early on in the show that do get resolved and Peter is not heard throughout the show, so his parts were cut out!! Show business!!! When we finally got on we started with Just One Question in which we asked one question about the following topics; Trump at CPAC next Sunday giving his first public speech since leaving office, Coca-Cola telling it's employees to be less white during HR training and Brits being angered by Harry and Meghan's decision to take 100 million dollars from Netflix, considering how poorly Harry's family is portrayed in the Crown. Our main story tonight is about Disney Plus’ decision to put a disclaimer in front of select episodes of the classic 1970’s show the Muppets warning of potential “negative depictions” and “mistreatment of people or cultures.". We explore whether entertainment from the past was a little too insensitive or we are little too sensitive today. We close the show discussing Daft Punk's retirement announcement and where they stand in pop culture against others who have worn helmets. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/tmihollywood/support
