My #Antifa Lover: A Book Review
This week, we toast to the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as we simultaneously bid farewell to the disgusting family of garbage monsters departing the White House. We speculate on Karen Pence’s future as a towel charm entrepreneur, as well as possible synergies with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, the crackhead-turned-businessman-turned-seditionist who, according to the Daily Mail, may have been romantically involved with the actress Jane Krakowski. Finally, we delve into an emerging literary genre: Antifa fan fiction.  HEAR US ON ITUNEShttps://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/this-week-in-nope/OVERCASThttps://overcast.fm/itunes1312654524/this-week-in-nope SPOTIFYhttps://open.spotify.com/show/07WFZhd5bgY1l1BspArfRJSTITCHERhttps://www.stitcher.com/podcast/this-week-in-nopeSOUNDCLOUDhttps://soundcloud.com/user-518735966/tracksPOCKET CASTShttps://pca.st/SrJY RADIO PUBLIChttps://radiopublic.com/this-week-in-nope-GAOx3N In this week’s episode: Watch Amanda Gorman’s recitation of her poem, ‘The Hill We Climb’ here. Big #YUP to…Poet laureate Amanda Gorman. Senator Bernie Sanders, fashion icon. In addition to Twitter, you can now also follow us on Goodpods, a new app that will help you discover great podcasts.

E149: Javanka: Time to Flush Twice!
What a week. After we decided not to record last Wednesday because of the ongoing assault on our Democracy, we’re back to discuss the insurrection and describe the cast of coup characters like the Qanon Shaman and his pelt-clad henchmen. In the midst of the rioting, Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump each accidentally dialed Sen. Mike Lee looking for another Senator–Alabama’s Tommy Tuberville–and asked him to help them in their harebrained scheme to overturn the election. Meanwhile, Trump supporters in Florida defaced a manatee and Melania Trump participated in a photo shoot about rugs. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin’s wife Louise Linton has a new film coming out in a few weeks in which she plays “a materialistic, narcissistic, self-absorbed, raging misanthrope” who “may or may not have an undiagnosed personality disorder.” (In other words, a biopic.) Finally, we mourn the death of Dr. Harold Bornstein, a legend in the fields of gastroenterology and literature. PSA: So It's Come to This
With this week's horrific and shameful acts of terrorism in the nation's capital, we decided it's just not a week for comedy. Besides, we're exhausted. We'll be back next week, and hopefully by then Donald Trump will no longer have access to the nuclear codes.

E148: All I Want for Christmas is NOPE!
This week, as the Great Conjunction brought Saturn and Jupiter into alignment and kicked off a new astrological epoch, we say “Bye Felicia!” to 2020. We shut down the interregnum period, Presidential pardon power and cannibal sandwiches (a Wisconsin specialty). E146: Quadrillions of Lawyers!
This week, the Texas attorney general filed a highly unusual lawsuit to overturn the election results in four states–none of which is Texas–because why not shoot the moon? Piers Morgan was mistaken for an actress to whom he bears a striking resemblance: The Pigeon Lady from “Home Alone 2.”  Mario Lopez scored the role of a lifetime, playing Colonel Sanders in a KFC-sponsored “mini-movie” on Lifetime. E145: Sisterhood of the Traveling Monolith!
This week, a metal monolith appeared in Southern California after visiting Northern Romania and the inside of a canyon in Utah. In possibly related news, a 7-foot sculpture of a penis went missing in Germany without a trace. An orgy in Brussels attended by government officials from nine European nations got out of hand when police arrived on the scene and were mistaken for strippers. And a woman in New Jersey resigned from her job on the Hackensack Board of Education after attending a Zoom meeting while on the toilet and failing to disable the camera or sound.     HEAR US ON ITUNES https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/this-week-in-nope/ OVERCAST https://overcast.fm/itunes1312654524/this-week-in-nope  SPOTIFY https://open.spotify.com/show/07WFZhd5bgY1l1BspArfRJ STITCHER https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/this-week-in-nope SOUNDCLOUD https://soundcloud.com/user-518735966/tracks POCKET CASTS https://pca.st/SrJY  RADIO PUBLIC https://radiopublic.com/this-week-in-nope-GAOx3N    In this week’s episode:  Learn more about the mysterious monolith.    Big #YUP to… Ted Lasso on Apple TV+. E144: Pardon the Kraken!
This week, Canadians got a warning not to let moose lick their cars. Donald Trump pardoned turkeys Corn and Cob as well as chicken Michael Flynn. E143: Itchy Cows and Boiled Chickens!
This week, an Irish farmer enlisted the help of two Druids to move a rock that was knocked over 10 years ago by a bull, leading to a string fo bad luck. Playgirl magazine relaunched to great fanfare and market confusion. A hunky doctor pursued a frivolous lawsuit against a scrubs manufacturer. E140: We're Packing the Supreme Court!
This week, even the Vatican was trying to be a moderating influence as Handmaid Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed to the Supreme Court. The Trump Administration tried to enlist an unusual constituency to get early doses of the Covid-19 vaccine: professional Santas. A small Alpine town in Switzerland became a coronavirus hotspot following a dangerous yodelling competition. Finally, we have some film criticism. Rachel gives Sofia Coppola’s new movie “On the Rocks” a big NOPE, while Brian offers a YUP to “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” starring Sacha Baron Cohen and rising superstar Maria Bakalova of Bulgaria. It’s been a terrible week, but if Joe Biden and Senate Democrats can pull off an unambiguous, sweeping victory on Tuesday, next week’s episode will consist of only YUPs.    HEAR US ON ITUNES https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/this-week-in-nope/ OVERCAST https://overcast.fm/itunes1312654524/this-week-in-nope  SPOTIFY https://open.spotify.com/show/07WFZhd5bgY1l1BspArfRJ STITCHER https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/this-week-in-nope SOUNDCLOUD https://soundcloud.com/user-518735966/tracks POCKET CASTS https://pca.st/SrJY  RADIO PUBLIC https://radiopublic.com/this-week-in-nope-GAOx3N    In this week’s episode:  Learn more about how Swiss yodelers created one of Europe’s worst Covid hot spots.     Big #YUP to… Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Watch it on Amazon Prime     In addition to Twitter, you can now also follow us on Goodpods, a new app that will help you discover great podcasts.

E138: Flies in Our Eyes!
This week, as the White House remained shrouded in a cloud of Covid-19 particles and lies, Kamala Harris faced off against Mike Pence in the VP debate, which was overshadowed by the menacing presence a fly. E134: Melania Trump: A Rose in Bloom!
The RNC kicked off this week with a trifecta of debacles: Steve Bannon was arrested by U.S. Postal Service Inspectors on a yacht, Republican Senator Martha McSally asked supporters to starve themselves and donate their food money to her campaign and–as we long suspected–evangelical leader Jerry Falwell Jr. was revealed to have been in a throuple with his wife and a pool boy. And then there was the RNC event itself, which featured a demonically posessed Kimberly Guilfoyle screaming in an empty room, (possibly) cocaine-addled Don Jr. sweating and barking nonsense and a woman named Mary Ann Mendoza whose speech was pulled after she tweeted an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory right before showtime.
