Happy New Year! Farzad and Jana are back in 2017! This week they share their tales of burritos, concerts, getting sloshed on NYE, and the final chapter in The Saga of Jana and her Missed Connection. Cheers and bring on 2017!

It’s the holiday season! Farzad and Jana talk about their holiday parties, followed by a weekend filled with even more drinking, both of the pub golf and classy variety to celebrate the birth of Jana! It’s a Festivus for the rest of us!

In the wake of the recent Ghost Ship tragedy in Oakland, the gang looks for some joy during what has been a challenging year. From shuffleboard to board games to self proclaimed “one flip wonders”, listen to learn about some of the best drinking game spots in SF. Cheers!

We made it! Welcome to This SF Life’s first Thanksgiving! Farzad and Jana celebrated Friendsgiving with a beautiful turkey, all the trimmings, good friends, plenty of wine, a showing of Love Actually, and a trip to the ER via an ambulance. This week Jana went to see the Ranchero dance in the Mother Adele Drag Show at Oasis. It was her first time at a drag show, and she left wide eyed and inspired! So inspired, she decided to continue with the Queen theme for Halloween! The newfound costume direction leads the gang to other costume ideas that might hold a special place in the hearts of fellow San Franciscans.

Connections abound on this week’s episode of This SF Life! Jana gives the much anticipated update on her Uber Missed Connection. Did she have the balls to connect? Meanwhile, Farzad and Sarcastic Girl took their stab at being politicians and lobbyists, joining in a giant game of tag in the Marina and North Beach. The team also enjoyed the tradition of Fleet Week, discovering a new bar and had Italian in North Beach. Basically, being as San Franciscan as you can get!

Lindsay shows her unconditional love for a local team, Farzad tries a new cocktail/beverage (we use that term VERY loosely), and Jana celebrates a very special life milestone. She also has an encounter with a hot rideshare carpooler, which leads to an interesting conversation and subsequent challenge. Human interaction anyone?

This week the gang welcomes back friend of the podcast, Simon. Simon is an active board member of the Folsom St Events that put on events like the Folsom Street Fair, active in the LGBTQ community and he is easy on the eyes! The team put their budget friendly tips into action over the holiday weekend. Farzad played tour guide to a friend visiting from the land of maple syrup. Jana and Lindsay spend a relaxing weekend which included a special screening of “Blazing Saddles” and the realization that a major retailer isn’t living up to Debutante standards.

After the gang does a quick recap of their weeks and paying tribute to another fallen comedy idol (RIP Gene Wilder), we discuss some fun but frugal activities and events that occur in our city. This week the group was minus a debutante! But Lindsay and Farzad got together to discuss weekend shenanigans, “creative” sandwiches and dating reviews.

As the gang catches up on their past week, Farzad talks about an interesting date he went on, while Lindsay has taken a whole new philosophy on dating. A old flame reenters Jana’s life, leading to a grander discussion on recycling old dates. Also, a potentially new dating app is discussed.

Sore feet, compromised liver, and music withdrawals. The gang discusses the aftermath of Outside Lands. The highlights, the festival fashion, dancing HARD, and making new friends.

This week on This SF Life, Farzad introduces us to his new, awkward “friend” he made at a mixer. Jana also had plans for a romantic rendezvous…or did she? Lindsay seemed to have the most successful week though. The gang also discusses the much anticipated Outside Lands Music Festival!

Jana, Farzad and Lindsay discuss the group’s first outing to a talk at the Commonwealth Club with Moira Weigel Author of Labor of Love: The Invention of Dating. The group dive in to some tough topics around gender stereotypes, modern romance, and the economics of dating. Is Dating Dead? How has romance changed in the era of mobile device and on demand everything?

Farzad and Jana recap a weekend spent in Napa for a friend’s wedding. Cigars and skinned knees anyone? Farzad also goes on a second date with “the architect”, opening up a discussion around second date ideas. A groaning Lindsay suffers through another discussion about continued Pokemon GO fever.

The gang starts out somber by sending condolences to the victims of this week’s series of shootings. On a lighter note, two-thirds of them discuss their new obsession: Pokemon GO…much to the chagrin of Lindsay. Jana discovers that she might need to crack a book, while Farzad just emphasizes his nerdiness. Farzad also describes a lovely date he went on, and a horrible date that his date went on. Skinsuit, anyone?

Happy ‘Merica Day! This week Lindsay branched out of the city to enjoy the splendors of Reno! Jana and Farzad held down the fort at home where they witnessed the ultimate SF insult. And the whole gang is now planning their next group weekender! Destination suggestions?
