The trials of life can be difficult and consuming. Two very different men and two very different trials in this very brief episode.   (originally recorded at the Northlake church of Christ)

Few things in life have real lasting effects. But the events that occurred over the weekend of August 9, 2014 have had worldwide effects.  Two incidents: one that happened personally in my life beginning the Friday before, August 8 and lasting through October, had minor consequences. But the actions of two men in a state hundreds of miles away from me had determined the fate of at least one man and an entire country. There is so much hurt and pain in the world and it was seen clearly the weekend of August 9. For me it was a temporary loss…one that was easily repaired, though we struggled with the effects for at least a year later. Are there tunnels underneath Walmart Superstores leading to the Denver Airport? Many people believe there are. Built to transport detained undesirables to Colorado in the case of Marshal Law, the tunnels, if they do exist, have been hidden from the people. Troy takes you inside Walmart to find out first hand by asking those who would know. Also, the New Testament promises a life of freedom for God’s people. But daily it appears there are people who would rather create a new system of LAW harnessing believers to a new slavery. The Apostle Paul has a little to say about this!

(This episode was originally produced in early February) What makes you feel? What drives your emotions? In this episode Troy describes an online test he received that asks what your first emotional response is to a particular image. The implication is that your emotional response indicates what is going on inside your depths. Your response describes the condition of your soul. Because its from the soul that we feel. All of us have been formed to our depths, but how we respond to stimuli around us shows how healthy that formation is.

During World War I, something miraculous occurred that, if it happened today, could completely change the world. Men with completely different viewpoints and ideologies left the safety of their trenches and bravely walked out to to the center of No Man’s Land. And for a brief period of time, men forgot about war. We are fighting a completely different war these days. Today it is a war of ideologies. And this war happens everyday in our country, our churches, our jobs, and even our families. It’s a war of ideology. A school resource officer is under fire for his actions in a school recently. A video shows the white officer pulling a young black girl from her chair and dragging her across the classroom. But does this video tell the whole story? Some are satisfied by this single video. But there is another video from a different angle that appears to show the young lady pushing and hitting the officer. So once again we have a single story with potentially several different perspectives. Whichever side you choose to align yourself with…what is the real story? Why does this kind of thing happen? Man has been granted authority by governments to enforce laws and rules…but not everyone respects the authority that has been granted.
