In Spirit And Truth | The Worship Show
Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well that the water he gives will become in those who drink a spring of water welling up to eternal life. What is this "living water" and how does it help us to worship God in spirit and truth? Let us discus that on this episode of The Worship Show.Living Water The fourth chapter of the Gospel of John finds Jesus in the middle of a water tour. In the previous chapter he had told Nicodemus the Pharisee that unless a person is born again - which is translated as anew or from above in many versions - he cannot ever see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus zero's in on the word "born" and asks how one can be born after he or she has already been born! It makes now sense. Jesus explains:I tell you the solemn truth, a unless a person is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.- John 3:5-6 NET The Lord's next stop on the water tour is to keep an appointment he had set even before creating the universe - an appointment with a Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. He talks with her about living water that will become in those who drink a fountain of water springing up to eternal life. It is that same water that he spoke to Nicodemus about. And it is the same water that Jesus spoke of on the last day of the feast of Tabernacles:On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. ’” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.- John 7:37-39 ESV In Spirit And Truth That water is the Holy Spirit. The Spirit that came from above. The Sprit that we must be born of in order to enter the kingdom of God. That Spirit that will well up inside of us to eternal life. That Spirit that Isaiah prophesied about:For I will pour water upon him who is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground. I will pour My Spirit upon your offspring, and My blessing upon your descendants.- Isaih 44:3 AMP And once that Samaritan woman at the well perceives that Jesus is a great prophet she turns the conversation to worship. What is the correct way to worship the LORD, she wants to know. And God answer

A Man After God’s Own Heart | Worship Show
King David, wore a linen ephod and danced before the LORD with all his might as he and all Israel were bringing the ark of the covenant home to Jerusalem. Is this an example of why he is called a "man after my own heart" by God? We'll take a look at David dancing in his underwear on this debut episode of the Worship Show.David Dancing In His Underwear Welcome to the Worship Show, our new podcast on the Great Commission Transmission Network. In this debut episode we discuss David - the man after God's own heart - and specifically David dancing and rejoicing because the Israelites were finally bringing the ark of the Lord to the City of David. When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.- 2 Samuel 6:13-15 NIV When David is described as a man after God's heart this is a Hebrew idiomatic expression that means to be like-minded with another. We see this usage in an instance where Jonathan, King Saul's son, chose to attack a garrison of Philistines and his armor bearer says to him, “Do everything that is on your mind. Do as youʼre inclined. Iʼm with you all the way!” (1 Samuel 14:7 NET) This is what it means to be a man or woman after God's own heart: Whatever your will is, Lord, I'm with you.Celebrating Before The Lord As the ark of the Lord entered the City of David, Saulʼs daughter Michal looked out the window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him.- 2 Samuel 6:16 NET David's wife despised him in her heart when she saw what a spectacle he made of himself in the streets of Jerusalem. When she came out to meet him Michal said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half- naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would." (2 Samuel 6:20 NIV) Notice David's response:It was before the Lord! I was celebrating before the Lord, who chose me over your father and his entire family and appointed me as leader over the Lord ʼs people Israel. I am willing to shame and humiliate myself even more than this!- 2 Samuel 6:21-22 NET It Doesn't Matter What We Look Like Worship is not about how we appear to those around us. Worship is adorin
