BLM and Police Violence
A special episode of The World We Made discussing #BlackLivesMatter and issues involving the police and law enforcement. We come at it from a lot of different perspectives. And fair warning: we don't strive to answer every question in this episode, or tell you exactly what to think. We do try to ask some of the right questions. Featuring Pastor Tim Bayly, Alex Costa (a bi-racial businessman and graduate of our pastor's college), and Andrew Henry (a businessman with ties to law enforcement).

4. Shut up and spank
Dads: spank your kids. The Bible commands it. That's what this episode is about. But even if you agree with that basic sentiment, listen on. We've got a lot to say about how to do it, why so many experts and studies come out against it, and the inevitable cruel existence of children who don't have it. Season 2 Preview
In this mini-episode, Jake and Nathan talk Season 2 and ask for a little help getting it off the ground. You can support this work here. Here's the breakdown: God is a good father. And yet each generation of sinful men—and sinful fathers—warp our understanding not just of God's fatherhood but of our human fathers. And if you're a dad, you know the job comes with overwhelming fear, sin, and failure. In Season 2 of The World We Made, Pastor Tim Bayly draws on his decades of experience as a pastor and father to offer hope not just for dads, but for everyone who wants to understand the nature of fatherhood better—or maybe thinks their understanding is broken beyond repair. There are no quick fixes, but you can claim God as Father even if you own father was evil. And you can be a good father, reclaiming your dignity and authority as the man called Daddy, even if you never had it modeled for you. Even if your children are teenagers or all grown up and things are hard. If the first season of The World We Made offered a mostly big picture view, this season will be much more nitty-gritty. Pastor Tim talks frankly about such issues as discipline, education, raising teenagers, and protecting your children from sexual abuse. We were originally slated to tackle the subject of abortion for Season 2, and we'd still like to get to that one day soon. But Jake and Nathan spoke to so many men requesting resources on the difficult work of fatherhood, especially as children grow older, that they decided this was the urgent need. We hope and pray that this work will be helpful not just to men, but to, well, everyone who has or had a father. As Jake and Nathan discuss in the preview clip, we do need your help to keep this work feasible and ongoing. If you have been blessed by Season 1 or by the ministry of Pastor Tim in general, please consider joining us in this work for as little as a dollar a month.
