Jill Barshay is an experienced education journalist who has written for a variety of publications including the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, as well as appearing on news networks like CNN and ABC News.  Today, she serves as a staff writer and editor for the nonprofit education publication Hechinger Report, where she writes the weekly “Proof Points” column about education research and data. This week, I sat down with Jill to dive deep into the psychology of learning, issues facing the higher education system, and how we can take steps to prepare students for the Digital Economy. Enjoy!

"Coach" Kathy Kemper has spent more than 30 years coaching movie stars, professional athletes, monarchs, Supreme Court Justices, Ambassadors, members of Congress, intelligence agency directors, and individuals from six White House administrations. In 1992, Kemper founded the Institute For Education (IFE), a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. The Institute has come to host many famous guests, including Hillary Rodham Clinton, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Arianna Huffington. Since 2012, the Institute for Education has shown a greater focus on technology and innovation, often praising collaboration between the federal government and private sector, such as the Presidential Innovation Fellow (PIF) program. This week I spoke with Coach Kathy about her work in the education space, the state of the workforce, and her advice for career changers. Enjoy!
