Back at it like a Craftmatic, I’ve been in my creative bubble working. While I can with all sincerity offer that as legitimate reason for TWHT hiatus for the last 3 weeks there is another truth that exists within the same space. Quite honestly I was paralyzed by the fear of recording a podcast without a guest. Sounds nuts right? A cat such as I am... so opinionated and verbose... fearful of taking center stage alone. Well if you got 60 minutes... damn near to the second... I’ll explain fam.

To be young is one thing, young and socially active another. So what's it like to be a young social activist in this era? Well you're about to find out. Elijah Judah, also known in the streets as Young Activist is one of the many voices calling for change in our communities. Leading with his faith, he might be a bit of a throwback in an era where religion is seen by some as regressive. Whether you agree with his spiritual beliefs or not, there's no questioning his love for his community, heart and hustle to be a part of changing things for the better. A warning to the easily offended, this is a big boy / girl pants conversation. A healthy exchange of differing opinions and ideas is always more than welcome and encouraged. A major topic that YA and I spoke on... sex work and the change in perspective of it in the modern era.

What with the podcast being new and all one could imagine how happy I am to get feedback. Now... the “good” and “bad” I can handle, but the “indifferent” I cannot stomach. Recently while scrolling through my Apple podcast reviews I saw one that would definitely in the “bad” category of the feedback loop. And so... to that reviewer EODBRANDONBAKER, I dedicate this episode of The Whole Hard Truth. Oh yeah and a black man got his teeth knocked out (literally) in San Francisco for promoting freedom of speech... so there’s that too. Enjoy.

Is that even a thing? According to Google it most certainly is, though the phrase has yet to take its place next to its masculine counterpart in the callout culture era we're living in. Far be it from me to NOT stir the pot, and my good friend Annie Iselin (aka Annie My) was kind enough to sit with me and chop it up about some taboo subject matter.

If the road to hell is paved with good intentions, the road to recovery and reunion is lined with mines. 10 years is a long time. A lot goes into an absence like that, from people you love dearly. The past can’t be changed, only learned from. Believe me when I say... there’s still much to repair... but I cherish the work and opportunity to do so.
