The Curious Case of the Soul (pt 1)
In this episode, I explore the toxic individualism that is so characteristic of western society and argue that it estranges an individual from their own soul. The fundamental question is: is this modern world even marginally constructed for us to find meaning? Simple answer: no. I'm curious why that is, and what this means for the soul. I critique Albert Camus' "The Myth of Sisyphus" for its nihilistic framing, and of course sprinkle some related criticisms on capitalism and European Enlightenment. Introducing The Weight of God: Season One Trailer
Welcome to The Weight of God! My name is Fareah, and I’m a student studying English and Philosophy. This podcast is part reading diary, part narrative essay, part cultural criticism. More than anything, it’s a space to explore our relationship to the world, ourselves, each other, and the tensions between those things. I hope you’ll embark on this journey of meaning-making with me.
