The Ultimate Analogy
Lately, I’ve been talking about why you need to think about the cause of your weight instead of the effect. Your thoughts have a massive impact on your weight. However, we are only told that what we eat and what we do will impact our weight. It’s only part of the story. Our thoughts and our feelings will precede what we eat and what we do. Also, 95% of our decisions come from our subconscious programs. Our brain will save us time by automating as much as possible. Diets Are Easy
Why are diets still thriving in 2020?We all know that diets don’t actually work. I don’t know anyone that says, “diets are amazing, and I love them!” There is loads of research on diets, and actually, 95% of diets fail. Meaning, the dieter gains the weight back (or even more weight) within one to five years.When people diet, they experience many negative short-term and often long-term effects, including: Obsession with food Stress and anxiety around food Lack of energy Lack of focus Overeating Reactive overeating  So, why are millions of people on a diet at any given time? Why are we still giving money to the industry that has failed us over and over again? There are a few reasons that people choose to go on diets even though they know that they don’t work:You think it’s your fault that it doesn’t work for you. When you go on a diet, it works for a week, a month, or six months. Then, it stops working, and people blame themselves. Other reasons people think it’s not their fault:  The marketing of diet companies. We can literally see the diet working through before and after photos. However, that’s not the whole story. Some of those photos are not even legit! The ones that are real are typically taken in the short-term. It’s much less common to see photos one year, three years, or five years after the diet.  Diets work for 5% of people. Those people will tell everyone around them that this diet will work. However, you’ll notice that these people had thought shifts first. If you go on a diet without changing thoughts and feelings, then it will not work.  You don’t know what else to do. People think that cutting calories and exercise are the only ways to lose weight. So, people will go back to dieting because they have already tried the non-dieting approaches. At least with diets, people will see weight-loss in the beginning.Dieting is easy. Dieting, while totally miserable, is easy and straightforward.
