This past week, Tony Dungy spoke at the Rally for Life event in Washington DC. As a part of his speech he mentioned that millions of people got together and called on God because a life was at stake and they wanted to see that life saved. He was talking about Damar Hamlin, the NFL player that collapsed on the field. He then went on to say that everyday, lives are at stake, speaking of the millions of babies being aborted everyday, who are still important in the eyes of God. Many called on him to be fired for these comments. That’s ridiculous. We talk about this situation in this episode of our podcast.

In this episode, Alex and Angela are joined by their friend Shelley Holcomb Larrick who shares her heartfelt story of dealing with the murder of her youngest son. Chandler was only 23 years old and had a bright future ahead of him when he was murdered in his own home by gang members. Shelley has had to work through all the questions of why this happened to him and is now determined to honor Chandler through her Do Better Be Better Foundation. This story will definitely touch your heart and encourage you at the same time. This is an episode that you will want to share with anyone you know who is dealing with grief.

As you begin the new year, and have most likely set a few goals for yourself, make sure you keep the main things the main thing. We have established a group for people who want to join us in reading through the entire Bible in 2023. One of the goals is to help people align their life in a way that they will be able to discover their true identity. Let us be reminded that Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” No matter what you are faced with in 2023, never forget you are a child of the King and your identity can be realized in that.

The way we think is so important to the success we will have in life. We all have one of two mindsets. Some people have a FIXED mindset; which means they believe that whatever knowledge, skills, abilities, or talents they are born with are fixed and cannot be changed. Other people have a GROWTH mindset; which means they can develop new skills, talents, abilities, and gain more knowledge for as long as they are on this planet. When Dallas Cowboys linebacker, Micah Parsons tweeted his thoughts on the government making a trade with Russia to release WNBA star Brittney Griner, but left behind former Marine Paul Whelan, he was blasted all over social media for it. There’s no surprise that he quickly apologized. Just another example of how collective demonization is being used to try to silence all who dare to disagree with those in power.

In this episode of the podcast Alex and Angela reflect on how 2022 was a good year for their ministry, while one of the toughest they have ever endured personally. They give a recap of 2022 and discuss some of the ministry accomplishments, then look forward to the ministry goals of 2023. We all have a set of beliefs and practices that shape our life. The technical term for this is called our worldview - this helps shape our approach to the most important issues in life. As Christians our worldview should be shaped by what the Bible teaches since we view the Bible as our ultimate source of Truth. There are a lot of worldviews that come at us and many are hidden. We need you to be aware of these hidden worldviews so that we can readily identify them and figure out what our response to them should be.

Florida high school quarterback prospect Marcus Stokes apologized after a video of him using a racial slur was shared on social media. The incident resulted in the Florida Gators pulling their scholarship offer. In this episode, Alex and Angie are joined by a couple of their friends and they discuss if this was the right decision or not.

Universal Studios recently released a movie called “BROS”. It’s supposedly a romantic-comedy that is trying to normalize the LGTBQ lifestyle and agenda. The movie had a terrible opening weekend, performing far less than expectations. The writer/movie lead blames the audience for not showing up to support their well-reviewed gay rom-com, claiming that too many of us are homophobic weirdos. During this episode of the podcast, Angela is back and she joins Alex in discussing the LGTBQ agenda and how Hollywood is leading the charge to try to normalize this lifestyle.
