In Episode 8, freelance journalist Stephen Carty joins Nathanael Smith to review David Fincher's Mindhunter, Netflix's disturbing new serial killer series. We also stake out a hidden horror gem on Netflix in time for Halloween, and, with Armando Iannucci's The Death of Stalin in cinemas, look back at two modern political classics: In the Loop and Four Lion, both on Amazon Prime Video.

The VOD Pod heads to the BFI London Film Festival to check out some of the latest films from Netflix and Amazon, including Mudbound, The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), 6 Days and Last Flag Flying. Horror guru Anton Bitel, meanwhile, pops in for a report from this year's FrightFest, which opened with Netflix's Death Note and premiered a whole host of terrifying new acquisitions for subscription service Shudder.

In Episode 4, comic book guy Amon Warmann joins Nathanael Smith to talk Netflix's The Defenders, the crossover event series between Marvel's Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist. Can it rival the big screen's Avengers? They also look back at a forgotten early comic book movie and recommend two films to watch after Amazon's The Big Sick (currently in UK cinemas).
