Episode 224: All About Youtube Ad Placements and Types.
In today’s episode, It’s all about Youtube ads! I share what you need to know about Youtube ads types, ad placements, the different placements you get to chose, and all the opportunities for your veterinary practice using youtube ads. Here the 6 types of placements are: -Skippable In-stream Ads This placement is the most recognizable and most common choice where you have the option to place at the beginning, middle, or end of the video has to be a minimum of 15 Seconds long or longer. These are a great choice for your first impression so potential clients can get an understanding of who you are by learning more through the ad. -Non-Skippable In-stream Ads  has to be a maximum of 15 Seconds long or shorter. Non-skippable ads are great for retargeting people who have looked into your practice before. -Out Stream Ads This ad placement varies for the others as this ad is an autoplay. This Ad plays automatically and is mobile-only. While you would have great impressions and views its probably not a choice to use for your veterinary practice as there is no intent behind the views. -Conversion Ads Great for online sales and stores and you get to select the outcome you want however it comes with a need for a big budget -Ad sequences  Creates a sequence of videos and delivers to your ad audience in a specific order. Perfect to consider to use for your employment ads -Shopping Ads Great placement to sell physical items in your practice that is underutilized by vet practices Reminder! Episode 223: Marketing & SEO Approaches, Strategies and More With Brandon Boyd
In Todays Episode I am joined by special guest Brandon Boyd from Vet and Pet SEO and The Practice Heist Podcast to talk about SEO and digital marketing for your veterinary practice. We share some strategies, approaches, and even misconceptions in digital marketing and SEO. Here are some key approaches and strategies to think about for your veterinary practice digital marketing. -Solve a Problem First Frame your sale in a way that provides your clients with solutions to their problems or concerns by focusing on the benefits of a service, product, etc rather than just the features of the product and service. -Narrow Down Tactics and Strategies  Have a very clear strategy that you can use for your digital marketing that will actually work and help your practice grow. -Create Expert Knowledge Content  Your content that your practice produces is very important because you want to create content that will serve your current clients but also allow you to reach new audiences. Create expert professional level content that is easy for your audience to understand and comprehend but also evergreen that can be relevant at any time. -Create Content First and Find Keywords Second  While keywords in your headlines are great for increasing your SEO ranking be sure to create content for your audience first and then find your keywords. SEO may tell you where you rank but it doesn’t give insight into your conversion rate. Episode 222: How Your Practice Can Prepare For Review Updates and Changes
In Todays Episode I share updates that are coming to reviews in the future, some different trends and things to think about in terms of reviews of your practice, helpful strategies you can build out for your reviews, and how you can prepare for the review changes coming in the future. Reviews for veterinary practices are very important and following 2020 reviews have begun to change due to fewer reviews being left and become even more important for all businesses. The same way most people look at reviews before purchasing anything online, people will look at reviews for your practice to gauge if they want to become a client. While reviews are very important and a lot of potential clients search for reviews sometimes they are met with very polarizing either 5 or 1 star reviews there are not very many middle of the road reviews. And a lot of people are becoming warier of reviews questioning the legitimacy of reviews in general. Some strategies you can use to get even more good reviews and have people looking  – Turn your best and trusted reviews into a personal recommendation. Ask your clients that have left glowing reviews to say a few words or testimonials on video that you can share on your social media or even website. Giving potential clients a chance to see its not just words on a screen. -Develop a system to incentivize clients to leave reviews pretty consistently  -Integrate your reviews into your website, content, or email newsletters so you own your reviews. Episode 221: How Google Ads New Privacy Law Changes Will Affect Your Ads
In Todays Episode I share the very important and rapidly changing privacy laws that are going to affect how we run ads in the future. With Google following Apple’s lead with IOS 14 Privacy changes we are going to see even more changes from these ad platforms and possibly others too. As we have talked about in previous episodes their is a privacy battle going on between Facebook, Apple, and Google. Apple made the announcement with IOS 14 that they would no longer allow pixel tracking, which Facebook gathers most of its data from. In 2019 Google announced that it would in the future no longer allow third party cookie tracking on Google chrome browsers. Now Cookie tracking (short pieces of javascript code) would only be allowed for first party cookies (owned by the website owner from an independent source) and not third party cookies (from advertisers like Facebook).  Google has now announced on March 3rd that they are changing their rules and will no longer be using the data they have collected from first party cookies anymore. Google is now creating a new system that provides better options for them and their services and products. Which in turn will give google ad users even more options with their advertising. Which for many users who are using Facebook and Instagram exclusively it may be time to diversify your ad platforms for your digital marketing. Episode 220: 3 Marketing Misconceptions That Are Holding You Back.
In Todays Episode I share 3 common misconceptions that could be holding back your digital marketing and possibly be hurting the growth of your veterinary practice. I also share how you can combat these misconceptions to help your practice’s marketing grow and perform better. The 3 marketing misconceptions and what you can do instead: 1) Chasing tactics and gimmicks with your marketing- Instead of relying on pitches from marketing company have very clear goals of what you are looking to achieve in your practice’s marketing. Find marketing companies and professionals that you trust and can express your goals and trust their judgment to best execute your marketing plan. 2) Waiting for business to slow down to start marketing- While it is hard to imagine during a super busy streak ever slowing down ultimately it is inevitable and does happen eventually. Don’t wait for business to start slowing down to start really focusing on your practice’s marketing. Setting up your funnels and all your automation (email, messaging, ads, etc…), while you are your busiest, is one of the best things you can do in your marketing. Be proactive instead of reactive with your marketing. 3) Assuming that digital marketing will stay consistent- Find how you can have steady traffic streams to draw your best clients into your practice. Create through different channels additional ways to keep your clients coming through the door of your practice. In Todays Episode I am joined by special guest Phil Masi from Restoration Marketing! We talk about helpful and easy ideas and uses for chat marketing that you can bring into your veterinary practice’s digital marketing. Episode 218: How To Keep Your Facebook Ads Working Effectively
In today’s episode, I am talking about Facebook ads! I share some of the big changes that have happened recently to Facebook as a result of the big tech wars that have been going on this last year and even before. I also share how these changes affect veterinary practices, what you can do to improve your targeting, how you can keep your ads from going crazy from all these changes, and some things you can think about for the growth of your marketing using Facebook and Instagram Ads. Because of the last few years of controversies with Facebook, they have been made to change their tracking and data collection thus changing how their ads ultimately work. With the newest wave of scrutiny coming from apple with their IOS 14 update of not allowing third-party pixels or cookies to be used on their users it has been impactful for the platform. By using their aggregated measurement tool Facebook now has a new way to track conversion events from ios 14 users.  Other ways you can collect conversion events and data include:  Using UTM tracking- UTM codes are a great method to use for analytics for your ads. Creating the UTM codes at the end of your URLs allows you to gather data from each platform in an easy way. Create Landing Pages – Creating landing pages for each platform and every ad. You will be able to easily see where traffic is coming from. Reminder! Episode 216: How To Attract New Employees To Work In Your Practice With Ads
In Todays Episode I share how you can use paid ads to attract new people to work in your veterinary practice. I also talk about what works and what doesn’t with employment ads on each platform and 3 placements that will be beneficial for your veterinary practices employment. 3 of the best placements for employment ads 1) Facebook- Facebook is great for ads however when it comes to employment ads the rules are a bit different and have only limited targeting options, but is still a good option to get organic engagement. Your reach can expand from shares and tagging. 2) Google- Google Ads is another good option for employment ads as the people searching for a job actively need or are wanting a job. While on one hand, it may not be a lot of volume in searches their searches are filled with the intent of seeking employment at a veterinary practice. Keeping your employment ads to search ads through google is the best option as you will reach a more interested audience looking for a job in a veterinary practice. 3) Linkedin- Linkedin is a great place to have employment ads running. Linkedin platform allows for the most targeting when it comes to employment ads allowing targeting through company, length of employment, degree, field of study, current job title, and region. There are also two placements you can run your ads, Through their content feed (almost like a Facebook post outlining the job description, benefits, and more) and through their In Mail messaging ads (custom detailed messaging about job opportunities). With all your options of targeting be sure to tailor your employment ads to target the perfect employee for your practice. Reminder! Episode 215: Time Saving Tools & Tips to Help Get More Marketing Done
In Todays Episode I share how you can get more done in your Veterinary practices digital marketing with some time saving tools and tips. I will be sharing how you can maximize certain types of activities that will help you create long term growth for your veterinary practice. These tips and tools help your veterinary practices digital marketing become more efficient and more effective: – Sitting down and batching out your content to schedule your posts. Taking the time at least once a week to go through your content and figuring out what you want to post for the next few weeks. Popular choices are Hootsuite, Agorapulse, and Planoly. – Have a content library. Putting your pictures and past evergreen content that you can come back to and share throughout the years. Meet Edgar is a great choice to keep your content in a content library and you can schedule when a post will go out and what social channels it is shared on. – Creating content around client questions. Oftentimes people will ask what should I write about and the best thing to write about are things your clients will be curious about, have questions about, and an offer that is relevant to the post. – Naming Conventions. Be organized with how you and your staff name and label files, pictures, and documents. Google Drive allows you to name your folders easily. You can also use your naming conventions with UTM codes to easily see where you are pulling traffic. Reminder!
