All I have to say is wow, just wow. On todays Las Vegas podcast, The Vegas Shuffle plays around with the popular website Craigslist. There have been plenty of nights that the two of us have felt lonely needing some company from the opposite sex. What do you do when you don't want to leave your house? Maybe even sick and tired of the whole bar scene. Wouldn't it be great it there was such a place to find like minded people just looking to hook up with other people, no strings attached? Well thanks to Craigslist they have this whole personals section where you can browse other lonely people in your city. Okay who the hell would want to hook up with us? I'm way ahead of you. That's why we play a little catfish and pose a sexy young 22 year old female looking to smoke weed and hang out with a guy in Las Vegas. I kid you not folks, I posted this ad and within 4 minutes we got our first caller. Our phone was blowing with with text messages and voicemails. I felt famous. Racism got the best of me folks as Austin was going to be bringing in a friend of his, Diego, to The Vegas Shuffle podcast. I am not going to lie I had my doubts but I promise you that this was one of my favorite guests on the show. I have heard stories about this guy and you would be scared to. Diego came to the United States like most "Americans" are now, illegally. You see Diego's mom left him and his brother in Mexico in hopes of a better life. When his mom made enough money to bring her two kids across, she would. That day came for Diego at the young age of 8. Being handed over to coyotes for his safe keeping till they crossed the infamous boarded. Now being on the other side of the fence what's a young hispanic male to do. Do some drugs, join a gang, run from cops and shoot off a shot gun of course. The hour and half podcast was not enough for this guy. Definitely going to have him back on. Diego started drinking at the age of 7. Alcohol being the gateway drug was shortly introduced to pot well before any of us ever had sex. Diego brings us in the back seat of a Fast n' Furious style Honda CRX as he talks about running from the cops, leading them on a high speed chase through the east side of town only to get caught but set free. Wait, it gets better. He talks about the night he wanted to sing a song off his apartment balcony. In one hand a bottle of Grey Goose the other a 12 gauge shot gun. See he used the booze to help him sing and he used the shotgun as a drum. The guy fired shots into the air after every verse. Just like the police chase he got away. While cleaning up some files on the old computer I came across some audio from my favorite podcast show, The Green Door. While going through the computer I came across this podcast that is a couple years old and for some reason never posted to the website. It's a Valentines podcast and it's old but it's new to you. What I am about to talk about is not in this podcast but its a great Valentines Day story. Well one Valentines Day I was really excited to ask this girl to be my Valentines. I had this whole thing planned where I was going to buy two dozen red ballons, wake up really early and start tying these ballons from her front door down the street around the corner and there would be this giant asian wearing this hideous pink shirt and a stuffed animal and two dozen real roses in hand. Drove down to this address and was completely lost. See this was before iPhones and I had to map quest this bitch and I was not familiar with her side of town. Long story short I was late, upset and furious that Mapquest could get their shit together for this special day. I recall sitting in my car defeated thinking what to do? I saw some cars in her driveway and figured that I might as well leave them in her room for her to find when she came home from work. Knocking on her parents door I was nervous. Here is this complete stranger asking access to their daughters room to drop off two dozen ballons, two dozen roses, a stuffed animal and a sappy Valentines Day card. The Vegas Shuffle give you another great hard hitting interview as we get a day laborer to come on the show to tell us what it is like standing in front of Star Nursery all day for the chance of making a couple bucks. I would always drive by Star Nursery or Home Depot and would see truck loads, no pun intended, or Mexicans just lined up looking for work. I really didnt have a need for them so I would just drive on by. Only after doing this podcast did the thought of actually going down there to try and talk to one of these day laborers cross my mind. Some crazy stories came out of his mouth when he told us that Iron Mike Tyson came by and picked up several day laborers for a days of work.
