Episode 8 | Racism in Our Food System
Brooke interviews Kimberly Renee (@itskimberlyrenee)—founder of plant-based culinary group Might Be Vegan—who launched her newest program Food Love to help BIPOC families who are experiencing food insecurity have access to healthy plant-based food. In this interview, Kimberly shares her inspiration in starting Food Love and explains the impact of the lack of access to fresh produce and plant-based foods in some BIPOC communities. Brooke and Kimberly also discuss the health impacts that not having access to plant-based foods and healthier options has on these communities. They also talk about more ways to help BIPOC communities get more access to plant-based options in the future.
