Showcasing Clarke County History While Looking To The Future

We pre-recorded today's conversation via Zoom with Nathan Stalvey, Director of the Clarke County Historical Association to talk about the impact COVID-19 has had on his organization's ability to showcase Clarke County history. Nathan explained the financial issues associated with closing the Burwell-Morgan Mill for several months and cancelling their two largest fundraisers of the year - Art at the Mill. The Mill re-opened in July and is now grinding corn on a regular basis and hosting a few in-person events including and artist in residence every Saturday & Sunday through November 7, 2020. You can get all the details about events at Burwell-Morgan Mill on their website: http://www.burwellmorganmill.org/ Nathan also told us about the many educational resources available through the association, their reduced membership rates, and the availability of Wi-fi for Clarke County students. He also talked of the new things coming in 2021 like a new website, a new name for the museum, a new slogan and a new exhibit - all things that were created/developed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
